Damn, id say I got the exact same hair as you. (besides that mine is blonde.) I ordered this product yesterday without any real research but now that I'm seeing this I feel relieved and looking forward even more for it to arrive! Great video!
you are absolutely right about original being sticky. but it has that heat protection that other products do not. basically it's a 2 in 1 or even a 3 in 1 since it can be used as pre and post styler.
not a fan of hybrid, the hold is never quite there and i don't like the smell of it.
cavalier is too heavy for my fine hair, but ppl love it. i think it has the most positive reviews among his products.
would like to try monarch though!
i generally like their packaging. the pictures are cool. they are very different from others. not necessarily the nicest, i do agree.
I have thick hair and this works great for me. Easy to apply, reworkable and holds all day. Also washes away very easily.

Great honest review Ben. One of these days I will give tell you my honest opinion about Monarch matte paste . I agree that Hybrid is good as a prestyler only. Do an honest review on the ByVilain products.

Tested as prestyle and poststyle. I have thick hair
Imo,
Hold: Average, as a prestyler
Slightly more than average as a poststyler. 3/6 PAWS for me
Finish: Matte, but I found it to be a lil shine at least for me, I would def prefer more natural finish products
Application: super super easy
Scent: soapy feel, not offensive
Texture: average
Overall: for me , I would prefer to use it for those loose days whenever I don’t really wanna style my hair too much. Kinda my go to when my hair is at awkward stage

I've got to be honest Ahmad, I absolutely hate Label M Matt Paste. It was #1 on my list of overrated hair products. I binned mine because it was so bad (no joke). It had no hold at all. So, I would 100% recommend Monarch Matte Paste instead!

I frigging bought Hybrid before this was announced and regret it. Hybrid works decently for my hair and feels like it has decent hold and really nice texture but if I don't put the exact right amount my hair either falls flat and looks greasy or looks like there's no post styler in it. Gotta get the exact right amount every time for it. Maybe i'll like it more when I go get a hair cut, going to take about 3 inches off the top which may help lol.
I'll probably buy this next when my Hybrid runs out

Maybe yeah, depending if it's thick or not, I imagine you'd need something heavier than this

Monarch is best for fine hair, whether it's short of longer, but if you have short or a messy, casual medium length forward quiff and you have thick hair, monarch is amazing for that, I have super thick hair and I am currently rocking a forward textured quiff, and monarch is best for that because of the choppy finish it gives me, cavalier is best for longer hair of mine

It's just genetics mate, if it's going to happen, it will happen regardless of what products you're using. There are a couple of apparent 'solutions' out there, but the best ones have side effects currently.

Sea salt spray does. Have 1 day a week where you don't use anything in your hair.

ONLY USE THIS PRODUCT FOR THIN HAIR this guy isn't telling you but this is meant for thin hair... the others didn't work as well becuase they are meant for thicker hair!
