I see many reviews on hair products and most of the people have thin hair so I'm always left unsure on whether or not the product is good or bad. That's why I like your reviews, they are really honest and really put to the test. I think first impressions are just as important as trials when testing. And that's why you're one of my favorite youtubers. Thank you for honest reviews!
Love how honest your reviews are of blumaan products. I have real thick and straight hair that is sometimes hard to control, especially when it comes close to when I need to get a haircut. Anyways I’m leaving this comment for people who have thick hair for this product. I just received it today and tested it out as a post styler and out in the heat the hold loosens which is unfortunate. The smell gets annoying and you still kinda smell it throughout the day. For thick hair you’ll feel a gritty separated texture and also as a tip if you emulsify it till it is clear and apply it than it won’t be sticky, nor tug, nor pull hairs out. The hold is way better than hybrid, but not worth getting compared to cavalier clay unless you want a more light holding product for when you don’t want to spend much time with your hair style. It’s interesting because I found the texture a bit similar to cavalier clay except that it isn’t gritty. Like I said not as strong of a hold as cavalier, but it kinda holds up. The downsides is the scent, in the heat it falls apart, I had to reapply a bit more after 20 minutes of initial application to add more hold bc it wasn’t keeping up with my hair, and it doesn’t have that good of control as I’d like it to.
Man this video just makes me want to purchase this product so bad along with original by Blumaan just so that way I can experiment how this product works for thick straight hair.
Yeah ! You've actually checked every box of the review on point. Had the same feeling when I used. Matte finish but with natural shine ( STILL SHINE :( for me ) Using more will make your hair look kinda saturated Using more will also make your hair strands look more textured, but it gives the feeling of lots hair strand separation Medium hold- definitely for thick hair Overall thoughts, decent prestyler, not so good prestyler (because of the shineness, I prefer blowdrying during prestyle kind cus it takes away a lil bit of the shineness) Probably would be suitable for much shorter hairstyles Review on point !
What up TDM...I was waiting for you to review this product. I was laughing because your reaction on the product was my exact reaction when I reviewed it on my channel. I thought the same thing it felt more of a styling cream then a paste and the hold was a light to medium not a strong at all. I thought its a great pre style product but defenetly not a finishing product.
I was going to buy a jar of this but after watching the review, I don't think I will. I used to use Blumann Original when I had a shorter hair length and it worked great as a prestyler but I have fine hair(lots of it) and the longer it got, the more it weighed my hair down. I once in a while use Blumann Hybrid Cream Clay and I think it works really well with fine, longer hair styles post style.
I tried it the same way you did it at first and it wasn’t as great for me. So what I did is use it as a pre styler, blow dry THEN use a product you love after. But for me using Monarch alone is not so great.
I have it done professionally at the salon, which I absolutely recommend. Doing it at home is never a good idea haha. I go for a cut & color every 4 weeks, and generally I just have direct dye done (just the color). But every few visits I’ll have to do some bleaching like adding highlights or doing a full bleachout to remove color etc.
would you say this us better for thin hair? I have straight, thin hair and I go for a hairstyle similar to Alex costa. short sides and volume on top with my hair falling off to the side. do you think this would work for me? thanks for the review man
I’m not quite sure how it would work on thin hair - for me it had too much strand separation on my thick hair, so if your hair is very fine it might be an issue.
Joseph Rosas Completely different. The morrocanoil clay is more matte, keeps the strands together and gives more of a volume boost. Probably more hold too.
25 spray by TheSalonGuy is hands down my favorite pre styler. For finishers I’ve been loving Clutch clay, Stickmore Clay Fiber and Morris Motley Chrome.
Yeah it might be better for really short hair. In this particular video my hair was shorter than usual (typically I keep it around 6 inches long, and in this vid it was closer to 4.5) and it still didn't work for me.
Great honest true review my man. I think blumaan relies on hype and lots of youtubers liking their products😂, which is smart but kinda annoying marketing. I have a lot of fine hair and I was pretty surprised that it works pretty good in my hair. Again love the review and you’re channel is always legit. By the way got Baxter of CA clay and so far I’m loving it.
Molten Throne Its a lightweight product, of course it will work with your hair, due to tdm having thick heavy hair a lightweight product like monarch wouldn’t work.
You might have good luck with something that boosts your hair volume like Moroccanoil texture clay, if you are looking for a matte finish. Clutch clay and Stickmore Clay Fiber are two of my favorites too, for any hair type :)
Totally different. While Monarch has clay in it, it does not behave like a clay at all for me. It also has some shine, not really matte, and for me creates quite separated texture like in the video. Arcadian is basically the opposite - VERY matte, chunky textured. Both have lighter holds for me, though.
The first thing I think of when I smell Monarch is an antique store or estate sale. This was confirmed when my wife asked me if I was using one of her father’s products.👴🏼👵🏼
My faves lately have been Clutch XL by TheSalonGuy, Clay Fiber by Stickmore, MM Chrome (although I don’t know if I’d call that one a clay). Baxter of CA clay pomade is always great too.
I've yet to actually finish filming my review of monarch but in my testings so far ive noticed that it works pretty good when used as pre and post stylers but not so much on its own. I got a great hold for a whole weekend when used as both, but in saying that It felt way over saturated with the product and like you I wasn't a fan of the separation it gave me. Having thin hair made look even thinner isn't a look im ok with. Also I too thought it smelled like a soap. You should check out my Instagram highlights to see my quick first impressions and the results I got. Definitely not the best product I've used and certainly not worth $40 Australian dollars. Shipping was almost the same price as the product. Ridiculous.
Yeah I’ve heard that international shipping from them is very expensive. Yeesh! And yeah I can imagine that the strand separation could be problematic for finer hair types.
TDM Style tbh it's seems like the norm for most hair products that originate from the US. There's always free shipping but only if you are in the US which is really shit considering the shipping wouldn't cost that much anyways for people in the US. I had this same issue with Ocean Clay but thankfully shehvoo, blumaan, lockhearts and a few other big brands are being sold on Slikhaarshop so at least shipping worldwide will be A LOT cheaper. Plus Slikhaar always have free shipping codes every few weeks. They really are great for their shipping.
Yeah truth. Shipping anything internationally from the US is insanely expensive (who knows why). Really cool though that Slikhaar is carrying a bunch now.
"Best" is dependent on a lot of things and is subjective based on people's hair type/texture and preferences. But I can tell you that Monarch is certainly very low on my list and did not perform well at all for me.
think its probably a product for people who want a kind of natural messy pop singer style. more casual and doesn't look like you are working too hard on you hair. maybe
Yeah, it could work for that. I was just mostly unhappy with how separated and saturated it made my hair strands, and on top of that had very little hold.
Now this is an honest review. Other videos are like promotions for BluMaan. How do you compare this to Hybrid cream clay? I have only used one BluMaan product and that is Original. I only use it as a Prestyler, as I feel as a post it doesnt gold my hair at all. Do you think BluMaan products are weak in the hold department overall? Again, thx for the review.
Thanks man! I liked Hybrid more than this - it was better in the texture department, however the hold was pretty light on that too. Cavalier has the highest hold of the lot, but for me it gets too greasy after a few hours.
Hard to say at this point. I’m still trying lots of them! But I’ve been liking the Label.m one, new Pre Game by TheSalonGuy is awesome, and I also really liked the Modern Times matte paste by CCP Labs.
Yes, that statistic is true. But I’m talking about hairs being ripped out by the root while applying the product, not naturally falling out throughout the day lmao
Great video buddy. I didn’t like this stuff mainly because of the scent. It isn’t offensive but I can’t stand floral scents and for me at least I can smell it for hours after applying.
You lose over 150 strands of hair a day, running your hands through your hair in general you will "pull out" hair so nothing out of the ordinary, doesn't help that you are always coloring your hair and having your blow dryer very close with no heat protection e.i you've damaged your hair quite a bit. Fix that then give the product another try. Just my 2 cents
Yes, it’s normal to lose around 100-150 strands per day. As far as coloring, my hair is actually quite healthy. Yes, of course there is some inherent damage due to the lightener, but I have it done professionally at the salon to minimize damage. The shampoo/conditioner that I use, combined with the 25 leave-in spray that I use after every wash, my stylist actually is impressed with how soft and healthy my hair feels. 25 spray actually does have heat protectant built in as well, so technically, I am using heat protection before I blow dry. However there is also a huge misconception about heat damage from hair dryers - the fact is, unless you are holding it in the same spot long enough to make your scalp hurt from the heat and you smell burning hair, you’re fine. Most “heat protectant” products protect from loss of moisture more than they protect from actual temperature. Anyway, the point is, when using this product I had wayyy more hairs being pulled out at the root (i.e seeing the skin tag on the end) than I experience with other products. If it was just my hair falling out from damage, it would happen consistently, regardless of the product used, and wouldn’t be seeing healthy roots on the ends.
I just cannot justify purchasing bluuman products anymore... They all have either hold issues, application issues, horrible scents, crappy packaging and are overpriced atm

Thank you so much! Comments like this make my day 🙏🏻
If you have thin hair avoid blumaan product.. Because all blumaan product are made for thick hair..
Semi thin hair can easily fix by using prestyler product..
Best review of this product that I've seen so far!
Thanks!

Fuertes Clay?
Coming soon 😉
Man this video just makes me want to purchase this product so bad along with original by Blumaan just so that way I can experiment how this product works for thick straight hair.
Finally an honest review and not all those wannabe friends of Blumaan. This was a mediocre product, tht´s true
Todo Hombre TV sukk ma dekk blumaaan da best
He doesn’t realize that hair falls out naturally all the time
This product was made base on his hair texture.. Not all hair texture and thickness is the same as blumaan...

its no a matte finish.
its shiny and less hold product

I use a wax as a pre styler, and then finnish it with a lot of monarch, and it works great fir me, and i can re-work it all day

Can you review Osis+ by Schwarzköpf Matte paste
I tried it the same way you did it at first and it wasn’t as great for me. So what I did is use it as a pre styler, blow dry THEN use a product you love after. But for me using Monarch alone is not so great.
You should come up with your own product Matt , I would love to see that 🔥
Haha I don’t really consider myself qualified to at this point, but thanks!
Great review man!!!
Can you do a review for pacinos matte paste??
Thanks! I’ll add that one to my to-do list.
Nice & honest review!
Thank you!
can u do products on black label profile putty? no one seems to do any video on that and i cant find any reviews
Hmm I’ll have to look into it!
Honest review! How would you compare it with other light products like arcadian overall and in terms of texture?
I’m more a fan of the texture of Arcadian. This had too much strand separation for me.
can yoi please review the "black label grooming profile putty" please? no one has done a review on it and i would like to hear ur opinion. thank you!
Hmm I’ll add it to my list!
Whats your top clay for high hold? Would appreciate a recommendation i have super thick hair
My faves right now are Stickmore’s Clay Fiber, Clutch XL by TheSalonGuy, and Baxter of CA clay pomade.
@@TDMStyle are these still "go to" products for you?
Just wondering how/where you dye your hair and if you have any advice on that generally?
I have it done professionally at the salon, which I absolutely recommend. Doing it at home is never a good idea haha. how would you say this compares to the morrocain oil texture clay as that is my current go to product?
Joseph Rosas Completely different. The morrocanoil clay is more matte, keeps the strands together and gives more of a volume boost. Probably more hold too.
Good work brother
can u review the bluemaans 5th sample pomade?
thanks.
keep up the good work.
Thanks! I’ve gotten several requests for Fifth Sample so it’s on my to-do list!
Have you seen Lockhart's Enigma?
I have. Haven’t tried it yet though.
Cool review! You should check out Enigma from Lockhart's. It has become my go-to styling product.
On my to-do list 😉
Hey man whats your daily products? Or name something that u would pick any day.
25 spray by TheSalonGuy is hands down my favorite pre styler. For finishers I’ve been loving Clutch clay, Stickmore Clay Fiber and Morris Motley Chrome.
Great review!
Thanks!
3:58 it's natural to lose hair, or more properly called hair shedding, which an average person sheds between 50-100 hair strands per day. -Google
Yes, but that’s different than hairs literally being pulled out at the root from sticky product lol
i think the monarch paste is better for short textured quiffs and textured crops. doesn't do so well in longer hair.
Yeah it might be better for really short hair. In this particular video my hair was shorter than usual (typically I keep it around 6 inches long, and in this vid it was closer to 4.5) and it still didn't work for me.
@@TDMStyle works better in 3 inches for texture. otherwise for longer hair better off with a product that is less about texure and more on slick hold.
Which matte paste is your first choice mate? Which has best hold thoughout the day & no tough pull?
Crafted matte paste is a great one that meets those criteria 🔥
My personal opinion it has better hold than Lockhart anti gravity but only didnt thicken fine hair.
Hmm yeah that sounds about right! I also feel Monarch had more shine and more strand separation than Anti-Grav too.
Superb review, short but informative.
Thanks!

Is it ok to lose hair when styling your hair ? Because i too lose a lot when styling or showering :(
It is normal to lose around 100 hairs per day. So unless you are seeing a scary amount, you are probably fine!
Do a review of label m matt paste
Soon.
Hello. I have wavy, fine and soft hair. What styling techniques and products do you recommend?
Depends - what sort of haircut do you have and what kind of style are you going for?
I have about 5 inches(12.7 cm) on top and a number 2(6 mm) on the back and sides. I want to grow my hair out, but don't know what to use.

Hello which one you prefer this one or hybrid cream clay for post styler?
I like Hybrid over Monarch. However tbh I’m not super crazy about either one.
TDM Style you are the best thanks.. I like to try another product like the clutch by salon guy but maybe try enigma also
how does this compare to arcadian clay pomade? would really like to know

what is your favorite Matte paste?
Hard to say at this point. I’m still trying lots of them! But I’ve been liking the Label.m one, new Pre Game by TheSalonGuy is awesome, and I also really liked the Modern Times matte paste by CCP Labs.
The hairs are naturally dropping, it's not the product, we shed from 100-150 hairs a day, so don't worry about the hair
