- Hope you enjoyed this review of Blumaan's Monarch Matte Paste. I was hoping this product would break the mold and challenge some reservations I have had about matte paste-type products. Unfortunately, this one did not work out 100% for me.
While I found the product to be usable, the scent is just not something I can get behind. The Blumaan team had a chance to release a new product with a groundbreaking scent. Instead, they played it safe and went with something softer, more floral, and not very masculine at all. The scent makes it something I do not intend to reach for much in the future when I can use better-smelling products that can offer comparable performance quality.

Nostalgic Grooming Moon Paste: Both are smooth paste products with a medium hold. Nostalgic is a bit lighter, smoother, and has more of a natural finish compared to Monarch.
Be Strong Matte Clay: Both have a smooth and creamy consistency with similar hold and finish, but Be Strong is stickier and has a mint scent.
Shear Revival Northern Lights Matte Paste: Both have about a medium hold, but Shear Revival's paste is a bit firmer and lasts longer with a better scent than Monarch.
low hold high grease IMO - everyone keeps saying matte finish, but it always look greasy on the same slick back style all these youtube product testers have.

because of the scent I find this product the most unique in the world of men's hair products. I really enjoy the scent, and if this is how Your grandma smells - I envy Your grandma xD

I totally agree with you. The scent is terrible and it lingers through out the day in the hair. The hold is good but not stelar.in my thin hair
The scent was so bad I couldn't even use it!
Monarch has a pretty high hold... so I disagree and all the home brew products have no hold
