You need to do another video of this vehicle with just a walk around and commentary of the upgrades. You did an absolutely fantastic job re-creating some thing special to many of us kids from the 80s.
Thanks, I prefer to just list the upgrades on the video description like I do; just makes it easier and clearer for people to understand; especially since most the places I run my RCs are out in the open with lots of wind, so you wouldn't be able to hear me talk even if I tried, lol. I do however intend on making more videos of this truck as I love driving it because it is pretty much just a larger adult hobby grade 4WD version of the original TYCO Bandit that I loved so much as a kid and gives me the same kind of joy :-)
I got this Rc Bandit as well as the Tyco eliminator new as a teen (I'm 41) and STILL have both in like new condition along with boxes and receipts. They have so much sentimental value that I've never messed them up lol.
i remember for christmas way back when i got the tyco hovercraft i remember taking it outside and my neighbor had one of these trucks .even though i loved my hovercraft i wish i had gotten one of these instead
I recognize those decals they're MCI Racing! My paint guy just finished the red version for a King Cab chassis but this looks exactly like the original. Awesome build!
Indeed they are friend and a huge thanks to those guys too! This project and many other's vintage based builds would not be possible without MCI Racing's amazing decal work! I tried to make my own before I found that they already made them, but found that I could not do so with my crudy printer, lol. Thanks for the kind words man :-)
@@rcautomojo2781 Believe it or not MCI is just 1 busy guy with a printer he's only 20 mins from me. Did you print the Goodyear decal for the bedsides yourself? I've been bugging Nate for almost a year to update the Bandit sheet but he's always busy 🤓
@@PabloGonzalez-hv3td Wow, had no idea that business was just one guy! Well, I just have a standard desktop color printer, which means it can't print white, so I actually bought the Goodyear decals from someone on ebay who had some. :-D
@@TheLEDwheelYes, the shock stiffness is indeed intentional for both originality and for handling jumps better without bottoming out as much. Thanks :-)

@@jasonjefferson664 As mentioned in the video description, the chassis is the 2012 re-release of the 1985 Tamiya SuperShot/Super Hotshot. As for body mounts; that's the tough part, you'll have to custom mount some as this is a buggy chassis and was not intended for a pickup truck body. I got a set of TRX4 body mounts and custom fit them to the chassis and it was a pain in the ass too, but ended up working well in the end. :-)
Nice build. looks like you used a tamiya 4wd buggy chassis, I also recognize that engine rev and burn out sound in the intro from the LA level in Twisted Metal 2.
Yep, a 2012 re-release of the 1985 Tamiya SuperShot/Super Hotshot for the chassis and actually the intro sound is from the intro of the "That 70's Show" show, but yeah, I think they stole it from TM2, lol. :-)
Sorry for the delay as I actually lost access to my account for a long time. I don't intend to sell this item or build any others as it was a major chore for sure!
These were the best RCs back in the day. 🤘😎

My first rc truck was a Bandit! I love the music too, btw
How we all wanted to be like this stock from factory back in the day , this is how fast it was in the commercials but never in real live
Indeed.😀

WhT scale is the micro bandit ?

Man…. The memories… it was this truck that got me into rc decades ago.
Just subscribed! I can’t wait to see more vids on my childhood favorite RC Truck!
Thanks much and I do intend to make some more videos of it when some nice weather returns in the spring :-)
Awesome
Great video sir and truly dig the look of this! 👏
Thanks much! I put a lot of focus into this project for sure and I'm very glad it turned out so well myself too :-)
Awesome job dude! It looks fantastic!
Thanks man 👍
Just got a new subscriber! Sweet action!
Glad to have you and yep, the original Tyco Bandit will always have a special place in my soul :-)
Sweet ride! It certainly handles better than the original. 😉👍
Thanks, and indeed it does! :-)
Tamiya super hot shot got it thanks a lot for the information in your description list
This is awesome. Only thing I would do is soften up the suspension for better rough terrain handling and landing.
I can't decide. It would look awesome gliding over the bumps but on the other hand, the bounciness is quite authentic to the original lol!
Agreed. The original is quite bouncy. Just be cool to see it glide over bumps too.
