I saw this in it's first showing in 1978 in a small suburban Boston theatre. I was with my girlfriend. The buzz on the street was "you gotta see this , it's the schocker of all schockers. Unless you were there you just cannot imagine how absolutely MENTAL the audience was. Screams, people jerking in their seats. My girlfriend watching it through her hand over her face looking through the gaps in her fingers. After coming out of the theatre you could still hear people loudly going on about it and some people saying "I gotta see it again". ..........................you had to be there.
this guy is and always will be a true master of horror, especially halloween that movie is just sheer brilliance and one of if not the best horror movie of all time
Agreed, but to me The Thing is his best horror film...and in my opinion the best horror film ever made. If not one the best films ever made, period... Halloween is very close 2nd when it comes to his best horror films for me though, verrrry close... Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York, and They Live are legendary as well, just not straight up horror films. He's definitely one of my favorite directors of all time. I hope he makes another movie soon before it's too late.
1:42 The strange thing is that what he is calling octaves are actually 5ths, but, oh well, who cares lol. He came up with a theme that is as iconic as Bernard Herrmann’s score to Psycho. I love John Carpenter’s early films. BTW, the octave would be used in a very Halloweenesque way by Alexander Peskanov in the theme he came up for He Knows You’re Alone a couple of years later. Those are octaves and the theme is quite reminiscent of Halloween! 🤪👻
WOW, Why are you posting videos about sh*t that has nothing to do with the content most of us subscribed to? If you keep posting these “wow vault” crap that I’m sure you guys have better things to watch, I’ll have to unsubscribe and trust me, it would kill me to do that.

He doesn’t know sh*t about music composition and theory (apparent from confusing fifths for octaves) but created a legendary theme 🔥Absolute gold

That remake was total crap. The original rules!
Which remake? The 2018 one or the rob zombie ones?

I didn't realize WOW helped produced Halloween.
ASisBest

Truly a masterpiece in every possible way. But I am bummed that he decided to publicly piss on the franchise during Halloween II....
Why? He was right.
This would get more views if John Carpenter was in drag.
UH HALLOWEINER IS SOON
