Chevy was producer on this film. He hired Carpenter making Chevy his boss on this picture. John Carpenter like Chevy has a very strong personality & opinion!! They disagreed on this film, in that Chevy wasn't comfortable completely playing it dramatic! Carpenter didn't want it with too much humour. Kurt Russell recommended Carpenter to Chase. It's no wonder you don't see Chevy or Carpenter at the forefront of movies these days. Difficult people who burnt bridges. Production wise, it was a bad idea to hire Carpenter! If Chase didn't want the final film as dramatic. Michael Ritchie would have been a better director on this picture for Chase. He did a perfect job blending drama/humour on Fletch.
@@ZeeHeche See, I heard the opposite. I heard that Chevy wanted to be more dramatic and that caused the friction, similar maybe to Murphy and Landis on BHC3.
2:57 Carpenter looks like he wants to blow his brains out. The way he rolls his eyes to Chase at 1:44 and Chase just walks away. They clearly did not get along.
John doesn't look to excited about directing this. But after reading how he hated working with Chevy chase I can see why
John Carpenter actually really hated directing that movie and also he absolutely hated Chevy chase

@Greg Loya 1:46 was painful to watch
That’s weird they seemed to work together well here.
@@ZeeHecheyou are wrong. Chase didn’t want to be comedic. He wanted to be taken seriously.

Love this movie!
Really interesting, thanks for posting it!
John carpenter looks bored to tears here trying to keep patience with the whole production.
He said Chevy was a pain in the ass to work with.
Seemed pretty easy going and nice idk why people say he's an ass
Probably just is nice to some and an ass to some others, depends on the person lol
This only shows like 2 mins of footage of Chase

I don’t see the invisible man in this footage.
He's in make up.
John Carpenter sure loves those cigarettes lol
Wellp!...he's a cigarette smoker, Sherlock! Kinda stating the obvious, but uhhh
What a piece of...
@Brandon Brooks I love this film. Its so criminally underrated.
@@davechristopher6462 criminally underrated is an overused term.
@@joelalexander4513 Thanks for sharing.
