ARTV Hey Jon, If it makes you feel better, I had a long dormant wave of middle school nostalgia hit me when that clip of “By the Way” came on. For whatever reason, in the mid 2000's, I thought everything Chris Daughtry touched was gold. Glad I got over that.

"Invisible Man", which also featured on the Spider-Man soundtrack, is my favorite song from them by a landslide. It's short and hits all the right chords (at least for me). I also like "Drown". Other than that, they got a lot of trash to sift through (to which I would not recommend whatsoever).

Those first two lines of lyrics at 15:30. That's almost Ian Watkins levels of f'd up, so much more disgusting than Good Charlotte's song about suicide. I can't believe the band and the label thought leaving in that line was okay. To say it should've been left on the cutting room floor is an understatement. I think it's horrifying that Tyler Connolly even thought of writing those lyrics at all.

    • @lorddoritus6373

I remember being 11 when I first heard the band, with the song "Bad Girlfriend" playing on the radio. Granted, it was the edited version so I didn't understand why it was so dirty...
Then I heard the explicit version, and I kinda got a cheap laugh out of it. While it is a trashy song, I still think it has a catchy rhythm to it.
When I heard the rest of their work, I couldn't remember a single thing out of them. No matter how much I tried.
Seriously, even Nickelback has a more memorable discography than Theory of a Deadman.

Finally talked about a Theory of a Deadman album after all this time, huh?
Well, I don't blame you. Considering how abysmal they are. I've heard this album a long time ago, and well...
    It's not good.
So Happy: It's mixed terribly and the lyrics repeat so much that it's reminiscent of a Puddle of Mudd track. Even the tempo reminds me of "Control" and "She Hates Me." Not even Brett from Shinedown could save this.
By The Way: Nice try, but not even Daughtry can save this song. The song is so dull that I nearly fell asleep listening to it.
Got It Made: Sounds way too similar to Nickelback's "Next Go Round" except done even worse. It's disjointed garbage.
Not Meant to Be: Too saccharine, sappy and snooze-inducing. It's complete and utter shit.
Crutch: Even with a faster tempo, it's still shit because it's whiny and shoddily-mixed.
All or Nothing: Absolutely pathetic. It sounds like Simple Plan's "Everytime" but with a gravelly-sounding voice.
Heaven (Little by Little): It's better but not by much.
Bad Girlfriend: Okay, I'll admit I liked this song when I first heard it. Now, I just feel like taking a shower after hearing it. It's dirty as hell...
Hate My Life: This is fucking horrible. This isn't just whiny. This is just sad. Like, seriously...
Little Smirk: Has a bit of energy to it, but it's still the same song and dance (pun intended) with the same shitty songwriting.
End of the Summer: Boring. Next...
Wait For Me: Another goddamn yawn-inducing snooze-fest.
Sacrifice: More of the same. I can't even describe how dull this song is.
On a scale from 1-10, I'd give it a 0.5. Literally _nothing_ about this band is memorable in the slightest. Say what you will about Limp Bizkit, at least they had talent musicians like Wes Borland and John Otto. Say what you will about Nickelback, at least they had a couple decent albums when they started. Saw what you will about Puddle of Mudd, at least they had two decent songs (Control, Blurry). Say what you will about Hinder, at least they weren't as gross as Theory was. Say what you will about Simple Plan, Crazy Town, Buckcherry, Creed and Kid Rock, at least they're laughably bad. Say what you will about Fall Out Boy, Guns & Roses, Metallica, Slayer, and Linkin Park, at least they had some good albums to back up their missteps.
This has nothing redeemable. Not even in a "so-bad-it's-good" kind of sense.
I make no hyperbole that Theory of a Deadman is the worst mainstream rock band to ever get popular.

I feel like I was too harsh on bands like Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock. I still think they're terrible, but I had no idea for what was to come when I heard Theory of a Deadman.
I mean, the songs on this album doesn't just lean towards perverted, this is the kind of stuff that makes Buckcherry blush. Not to mention how disjointed and messy the song layout is, their slow songs are snooze-inducing and their much faster songs aren't fast enough to even be catchy, with the exception of Bad Girlfriend and Little Smirk. Both of which are awful.
For all the shit Nickelback gets, at least they have albums like Curb, The State, and Feed The Machine that have a couple decent tracks.

16:54 does raise a very good point. Women gossip a lot about people, more so than men, which is why a lot of SJWs who complain ceaselessly on social media are women.
Men are simply not allowed to 'complain' about them lest they be interpreted as sexists, but women have free reign to trash talk men all they want without consequence, or even receiving encouragement for doing so.
It's not a matter of hating women, at all. It's a case of obvious misandry and a man being portrayed as sexist for questioning it, and I'm sorry to say Rocked, it was very telling that you didn't have a response for this.

Same dude. I like Scars & Souvenirs, and I like some stuff from The Truth Is. But that's just me. I grew up with music like this (Buckcherry, Hinder, & Theory Of A Deadman), so I'm used to these albums. Anything before their 2008 era or after their 2011 era just isnt that great. I only like two of their albums

Butt fest 2019. Headliners include Kid Rock, Five Finger Death Punch, Nickelback, and Limp Bizkit. Other bands include Theory of a Deadman, Puddle of Mud, Crazy Town, Creed, Buckcherry, Hinder, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down, and Staind, among other bands. It could be set in the Midwest (cause people in the Midwest are hardcore fans of these bands. Trust me, I know, I have to hear people sing Buckchery (you know the song)/Good Charlotte/3 Doors Down/Creed/Theory EVERY TUESDAY working as a karaoke DJ., the only downside to the job, otherwise i love it. Well, not all of those butt rock heroes every Tuesday.) and for four days. Big hit. Million dollar idea.

Theory isn't even Nickelback Lite, they are watery shit with maybe 2 or 3 drops of Nickelback mixed in. Nickelback is really bad, even though I personally enjoy a lot of their music, but Theory isn't even in the same continent of talent.

At first I wasn't sure if I recognized any of these songs, but as soon as "Not Meant To Be" played, painful memories of working at Wegmans came rushing back. This song sucks for the same reason most Daughtry songs that played there suck, or just most of the rock songs that played there in general, because they were buttrock. This song is kind of like "Bad Day", completely awful, but lyrically harmless, so it is therefore perfect for getting played constantly at retail establishments and driving employees in those environments INSANE! It is, as you would say, one big pile of DURST!

Not joking, the best Theory of a Deadman song I've heard is probably when they covered a WWE song. Likely because it had a sense of energy and fun that wasn't cool for a lot of these bands. Kinda like how Alien Ant Farm only made a song with any worthwhile energy by covering Michael Jackson.
