I too have fine curly longish hair - and found your video to be very helpful. Most of the videos I was seeing were with women that have very thick hair. Thank You!
I was actually nervous to try these because I thought my hair was too thin for them. So glad you found my video helpful!❤️ Let me know what you might like to see for my next video.😊
Thanks for the curl clip tut 😂 its crazy how something so simple in application can escape you. I would never think of clipping the clips that way. Thanks
Your comment about how it's better to root clip earlier makes so much sense! It is odd that it is commonly shared that root clipping should be done at the very end of a routine.
Thanks for sharing these tips. I have thinning hair and find it hard to get volume at the roots. I want to grow my hair out but, in the past, my hair allows gets weighted down when it’s longer. I hope these clips help give me the volume I’m looking for. I just ordered a set.
Yay! I hope you love them! Typically my roots get flatter as my hair grows. These are the only way I manage to get root volume on washday! It makes my hair look so much fuller!
Great video - these clips are great tools for many curlies. I have low density fine curls and when I tried them a while ago found they were too big and heavy for my fine thin curls. I gave them to a friend with coarse and higher density curls to use and switched to using small to medium sized claw grips/clips as they are a good size for me and not too bulky and heavy in my hair. Little trickier to take them out - just have to be careful. Hope this helps anyone else with fine but low density hair who also finds your clips too big and heavy for their hair. Ideally I wish that they'd make these same clips in a smaller size. I'm keen to see more curly videos from you, Stephanie - great name by the way! 😀 My hair is shorter but always interested in picking up good ideas from other fine haired curlies.
Thank you Stephanie!😊 I think I'll ask the company about making smaller size clips. Great ideas! Please let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see in the next video.
@@senseofbeautybystephanie I recently splashed out the $s and bought two pairs if Lorraine Massey's CurlyWorld Pik Me Ups. I'd tried the interlocked afro picks previously but they were too heavy for my fine low density curls. The Pink Me Ups are really light - not just hollow handles the metal prongs are really light too and work really well, you hardly notice they are in your hair. I bought 2 pairs so could put one set right back in crown area and the other more forward on top of head. Really really love them. They are pricey but I've found they are worth the $s. I still use the odd claw clips in any places not covered by the piks. As for areas to cover in future - anything that's useful for fine hair - getting volume without product weighing it down. Styling tips, products (or nature of products/ ingredients - I'm in Australia so don't have access to all the products available in US, get some US brands that local online curly shops import but nothing like the range you have access to). Also hairstyles, anything to do with fine curly hair especially if it can be applied to shorter lengths and low density too. I like your overall video style/presence - great to watch. 😀
I have fine curly hair that's low to medium density, & my fine stands have that real "slippery" texture that makes them almost silky, meaning any form of root lift & even root curl is very difficult to achieve. After trying various metal clips as well as these bulky things made for root lift (they're REALLY heavy & just pulled my hair downward) I also started using the small & mini claw clips and finally had some success! They even helped with root curl since it relieved the weight of my hair off my my fine stranded root area. I read your follow up comment & I guess I'll have to look into those... Though the idea of handing money over to Lorraine Massey makes me cringe. (Sorry, I'm just not a fan of hers, the things she's done, nor most the "advice" she gives). I'm going to take a look though, thanks!
@@VengefulAngeI I understand not wanting to buy from Lorraine, it's a double whammy here in Australia as I didn't really want to support the exclusive Australian distributor/seller of Curly World products but no alternative as other curly retailers don't want to buy from there either for good reasons. However I was sick of getting snags causing frizz when removing the only medium sized claw clips that were light enough for me. Found some on Etsy that had covers for the springs to prevent snags but were heavier and tipped over, made worse because the material they are made from doesn't grip my fine soft hair as well. So bought the Pick Me Ups as a one off. Now couldn't be without my two pairs of them, wouldn't go back.
@@senseofbeautybystephanie Don't suppose you had any luck asking the company to make smaller versions of the clips for those with fine thin hair? I'm using my Curly World Pick Me Ups pretty successfully but sometimes wish I had a mini version of these clips too to use in conjunction with the combs.
I love that you not only told us when to root clip, but also which direction to position the clips and why/how. Thank you so much! BTW, which brand of blow dryer do you use?
So...after trying the curly girl method for my wavy/curly hair, my husband keeps telling me to brush it! In his eyes it's very messy. But of course, if I brush it I get a frizzy birds nest. I suppose he just has to get used to it, lol!
Thank you for creating this video. I accidentally found these clips on Pinterest and then went here and found your video on how to use them. I’d like to know if we can use them with wet hair and then diffuse? I have vertigo and can’t move my head in all different positions. Thanks again! I subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to see more! 🙂
Awesome. Another subscriber told me about your channel. I recently purchased these and didn’t know how to use them. I hope I can get the volume on my crown area. That’s the area I struggle the most.
So happy your friend referred you to my channel! Thank you for subscribing.💕 These root clips are the only way I get root volume on washday! When I spray them, it really locks it in!
Beautiful! Thank you so much! I just found this! Do you use a Dyson dryer/ diffuser? if not what kind do you use? Your hair is amazing. I just ordered the clips, cannot wait to try!
Great suggestion! I actually love refreshes! I can typically get 3 good refreshes throughout my washweek. I have 2 different refresh routines that work well for me.😊
Thank you!❤️ This robe is from Victoria's Secret from awhile ago. It's from when I got married, says "sexy bride" on the back.😄 I'm actually shopping around for some new robes though.
Hello can you tell me if these clips might work for volume on hair that is not curly? I to use a round brush with blow dryer for heat placed at the root to create style day 1 which is great but wondering if it will work specifically on day 2…your thoughts plz.
Hmm. Not sure of that. It would depend on the texture and density of your hair. If your hair is stick straight and fine, I don't think they would work. However, if you have thicker, more coarse, or dense hair, then it can definitely give you lift at the roots more easily.😊
@@senseofbeautybystephanie Another great thing is the Deva curl (The shape of a hand). Really helps to dry the hair underneath to get ready for the clips. Just want to pass this along.
