For receding temples, I like when guys total embrace it and slick the hair straight back--classic. I think that Sting is a guy who has dealt with his receding and thinning hair with style and class--never denying it, but also rocking a style that is cool, whether it be the messy crewcut, the side part or buzzed down to stubble.
Im doing just that embrace it and rock it straight back no apologies but coming out of the messy crewcut into the straight back with slight pompadore and once i got the length will add a sidepart with the pomp. also sort of have the quiff due to crowning but i learned all of this plus a bit of instinct right here sooo thanks guys! Awesome blog. that barbershop in Poole is so damn cool too. big ups guys
I knew I would be bald when I was 17. By 21, I wasnt quite ready to go with stubble so I followed Bruce Willis' hair style (early 90's - TV show Moonlightling). By 25 I went with a buzz cut all around and everyone loved it. Before I was 30, on a beach vacation, I shaved my head (my wife freaked at first), I tanned it up that week and I have never gone back to hair on my head. GUYS. Even if you HATE the fact you are losing your hair...embrace it with confidence. (or fake it with fake confidence at first LOL) In very little time you will realize that people will see you embrace the body you have and will respect you for what will become - real confidence!
Spoken like a true confident man. Only wanks worry about having a lot of hair - you know, like Justin Beiber worry. Stop going bald and using all those dangerous drugs, and just BE bald - man-style.
If you have good beard growth it may help greatly to enhance your look if you have a shaved head, sure some look good with shaved head witout a beard, but some look like a egghead. In the end it shouldnt matter how you look, what really matters is how you are as a person and what you do.
I have receding temples and thinning in the crown. I feel confident rocking the stubble look. Instead of being self-conscious about both, accepting it and going stubble has done me a world of good.
Tsachi E that’s what I’m saying I mean he showed a pic of his crown and I wouldn’t say it’s balding cause he had it parted. Also I don’t know how old he is but I’d say his hair looks pretty full for being a grown man
im 19 and i started losing hair a few years back. i decided to embrace it a few days ago and trim it all back to stubble. my beard isnt the best but it has really thickened up over the past year so i feel like i will rock it when my beard finishes developing.
I have receding hair that's starting to thin out. I've been shaving it for years and I fully accept the course nature is taking. Still, I'm a bit bored of being a chrome dome and want to try out something new. I don't really want to 'hide it' but at the same time I don't want to look stupid. I might just try growing it out a bit and see if I can make something work.
Good advice Eric. I can't help but wonder how many of the guys who post mean, unconstructive comments would have the courage to let themselves be filmed and then put on the internet...my guess is not many. Those that do deserve respect for doing so. Peace and Love
I'm 20 and the top of my head (mainly the front) is going thin rapidly. Currently rocking a messy fringe look while I grow out my beard, for the inevitable baldness that awaits me. However I'm kind of looking forward to it. I've always had problems with my oil, thin, straight hair which was so difficult to grow out and style for so many years
I’m going to try to do something like this. I’ve always had thick hair that I’m use to pulling back. I’ve never tried wearing it forward. I did a buzz cut two weeks ago and absolutely hate it! Really insecure about it. Keeping it super tight on the sides and back now waiting for what’s barely left in too to grow.
I got 20 years old this august and In the next month I started loosing my hair. I'm so upset with this. I have been using different shampoo, oil and pills for growing hair and stopping hair loss. Now I loose hair much less, but they don’t grow well in the top area of my head. Maybe someone knows a good advice for me. I don’t want to be without hair in my young age.
Here's the thing. Hair is one of those no middle of the road things. You either have it or you don't. I personally don't think any hairstyle looks good unless you have a full head of hair. If any of them worked, he wouldn't be able to identify each hairstyle out there that people are using to defend a specific pattern of baldness. I mean I get it, he's not going to try to convince anyone to go bald because then there would go with the Rogaine sell, but trust me if you take care of yourself and you're in good shape and your dress well have a good personality and have a decent face, you won't have a problem getting laid. That's virtually all we care about right? I've been bald for years and all I've ever heard is how much better I look bald. My girlfriend's 11 years younger than me and she gets mad when I DON'T shave my head.
Had bad Hair Transplants in the 1980s but did get a lot of correction. Crown is still very thin and thin across the top. My Best thing to do is to do a Caesar type of style with more length towards the face and shorter on the sides and back. Am debating going to some sort of fade but the scars will be more visible. I have done this before - Going to a Number 3 guard on the back and sides but think because of the scars it is best to keep it a bit longer. Would like some recommendations also.
Thanks for this, it's very helpful! I'm pretty thin on top, have a receding hairline, and have a slowly balding crown. (The Triple-Whammy.) For the past few years I was pretty much buzzing my head to stubble. And not really liking it at all, but I assumed it was "appropriate". Fast-forward to fairly recently, when my (new) girlfriend asked me to grow my hair out because she loves the colour (I'm blonde) and feel. Who am I to argue with that? So I've started growing it a little longer, and even went to a barber a week ago and had an excellent cut. But it's still pretty short on top, so I've been looking for a couple of simple, reasonable styles that might work for me as it grows a bit. Anyway, I will definitely try a couple of these.
I'm more like the last two guys and I'm using nioxin, which works. I have wavy/curly hair and I guess my style resembles the last two gentlemen. That for the video.
Me: *Googles Hairstyles for Men with Balding on the crown* Google: Here are a bunch of hairstyles for people balding in the back but only viewed from the front... You're welcome.
I’m losing my hair but I’m not. Giving up either take rogaine minoxidil I can’t accept. It yet what hair style should I let it grow more or just figure it out. I guess I will save up for a hair transplant I’m 24 years old It’s really depressing.
I'm just getting thin. I started to use just for men shampoo and as I got my hair darker, the thinning looked worse. Idk how to change my hair. Would a perm help?
The cut worn by Ian Glen fit me best, I have both all 3 issues you mention. I just try to go with the receding hairline and use what length i have to cover the crown. Do you have any product suggestions that might give my hair greater density after blowdrying?
That bit did happen all the back in Season 4 though, which aired three years ago, now. It seems like enough time has passed to where some things can be brought up. - Jack
I would trade my prince William situation I have going on for receding temples or crown any day. Mine isn’t as thin as william’s yet, so I taper the sides to a #1 or a zero and keep it tidy on top. Looks ok from the front. Keeping a full one inch beard has helped a lot. The beard really creates some kind of weird illusion or distraction from the hair.
Loved your explanation. I need someone to suggest me a hairstyle for my brother. He is 25 yrs old, wheatish asian boy with height 5.5 feet. He is losing confidence as he has got severe hairloss problem, his scalp is going smooth (with no pores) from top, between forehead and crown. It is spreading, left part of hair is thinning though right part grows well, hair near forehead also grows well. He is not too thin or fat and maintains very less beard or clean shaved.
My hair is super dense i had some thinning in from April to June of this year but it was unnoticeable to anyone else but me it was a bit worring because I'm 16
I am currently rocking the 5 head with Power Alleys...but I am 5 months into my beard growth and all of a sudden I see the Ten Commandments when I look in the mirror....minus most of the gray's...lol
Clicked in to see ideas of hairstyles as I have really thinning hair and seeing this dude with a strong head of hair saying guy his hair is thinning! Dude... I’d give anything to have your hair...
I have a natural widows peak and sometimes people think I’m receding, I hate it man, they don’t believe me when I tell them it’s just my hairline since I was young.
Eric...I love baseball and beards! What do you think about doing a video of the baseball beardsmen? I remember as a kid the mustache was really big and now it is the beards.
I'm the third type and I've always thought the best method was to embrace it - I've been rocking a grade 1 for quite a few years now. My hair is very fair so I doubt growing it out would give it any sort of density look and probably just make me look like I'm trying too hard to hang on to it.. I'm currently a month into growing a beard and aiming for about 4-5 inches in length... I'll concentrate on the hair I can growI reckon.. great videos, thanks a lot for the inspiration!!
Worst thing to do is trying to cover it. Ok if it is barely noticeable but if you got a bald spot then fuck it. Covering it makes it look ridiculously and you won't fool anybody but yourself.
Great video as always Eric i would love a similar hair stile like yours but i have quite thin/fine hair how do you achieve that volume whats your regime? thanks
For the 1st one (receding temples) how do you feel about having long hair with side part? ...I have long hair and would love to find a very skilled barber that's up to date with styles and trends to collaborate with for a possible switch up.

Lots of people complement me on my head when I shave it clean off, and I'm also confident enough to rock that look. That being said, I live in Indiana, and well, Winter sucks, lol. You can see my hairline in my photo (I really need to update that, as I've lost a lot of weight since that one was taken), on my profile, and that my particular issue is recession of the peak and temples both - temples I can deal with, it's the peak which became unsightly. Oddly, it hasn't increased in years (it actually now looks like it's been growing back some, in the peak area, which could be due to the major positive changes in diet and exercise I've been grinding through for the last few years, Idk), so I'm uncertain if/when it will, but in the meantime, is there something you could recommend as a style for me? If I shave it clean off, even wearing 2 knit hats isn't enough to keep my head warm this time of year. Side note: my hair is roughly around an inch in length, and I noticed that my natural part is back (haven't seen that in a very long time, hence one reason I kept shaving it, because training didn't help it at all). I've been working on encouraging it, working with it to attempt training my hair early. Is that something you'd also recommend to do? I loved my old, natural part, used to work with it all the time to experiment with lots of styles, which all turned out great, up until I noticed the recession. Thank you, in advance, for any help you can provide. I look forward to trying out your products for my beard (yes, that's another change from the look in that photo), especially for my new handlebar moustache. ;)
I guess I'm lucky at age 51 I still have a pretty good head of hair. However I am thinning in the crown area receded a little bit. I have been growing my hair out for about a year. Fortunately I'm 6ft5 so most people don't see the crown . What to do next ?
My front hairline is getting pretty thin and we can see the skin showing through. Using a clipper, I cut the sides and the back super short and the top(the part that is not thinning) longer but shorter than the front. Doing this, it looks kind of the same than the front (dark with the skin showing through). At the stage I'm at, I can still manage to make it look uniform.
My hair started thinning several years ago. I've been doing the Bruce Willis since then. Though this was far before GoT even was in the makings, so today you actually gave me an interesting option; the Iain Glen. What's the actual name of this hairstyle? I doubt my hairdresser will know what I mean when I come asking for an Iain Glen ;)
Does anybody know why ROgain is called REgain in Germany or maybe also in other European countries? It seems to be exactly the same product but is named differently -.-
7:48 there is a lesson to be learned there. What do you do when you get a cavity? You GO TO THE DENTIST. Now, what do you do when you notice you're looking your hair? YOU BOOK YOURSELF IN FOR A HAIR TRANSPLANT.
Great tips for hairstyles , with deep hair loss , maybe a micropigmentation may work if you don't want to shave the head , never the less, all styles you show works better with beard , I think beard is a great helper when you are losing hair on top
the problem with my hair is that it gets dark and greasy way too fast and it looks like shit most of the time........i'd wash my hair today and by the day after tomorrow my hair will look like the hair of a bum sleeping under a bridge... how do i make the clean hair look last longer?... i only use head&shoulders cause it's the only shampoo that keeps my hair dandruff free
Are you sure? some people are born with high temples like myself, doesn't mean you're losing hair. At least I'm not. Best way to tell is watching old pictures
True, some people are born with high temples including myself. I thought I was going bald and I cut my long hair, but I was wrong.. It's just genetic, but I decided to not grow my hair back. I was little scared how it looks, bcs I haven't seen myself 7 years without hair and the results were amazing, now I'm rocking buzzz cut with long beard and It's pretty cool.
It could just be some high temples instead of receding ones, so hopefully it's the latter. We actually just put out a video of a guy with high temples getting his hair cut: ua-cam.com/video/2kPmEqFJctk/v-deo.html Best of luck man. We still think you look great no matter what! -Josh
I make it easy for myself and my barber: I tell him to do a Number 1 all over and a tapered neckline. Easy, peasy. My haircuts take about 10 minutes to do and I don't have to get it cut for 5 or 6 weeks.
I have been wondering though: if my receding hairline includes a lot of thinned out hair in the front, do I let it all grow back out? Or do I shave off some of it to clean up the hairline?
For you guys in your teens and early 20s look at your dad and then look at your grandpas see who you look like the most because it's a good indication of how your hair line will go in later years, my dad was bald at 25, my mums dad the same, my dads dad had a full thatch right up to 86 when he died, I thank my lucky stars I look like my grandad, dads dad, my hair is still pretty full at 41, my bothers lost thier in thier 20s both are a spit an image of my dad and have the same pattern of baldness.
I've cut my hair super short before but right now, i shaped my hair into the pompadour style. most of the time, when im fishing, my hair looks messed up revealing my balding temple but i dont care since the bass only care about being tricked into biting 😁
Greg Berzinsky That moment when both Sting the bass player and Sting the wrestler have the same situation.
How do you feel about guys with long hair and receding temples?
Greg Berzinsky man,Jud Law has to be the prettiest man out there

Still struggling to accept this, but your words comfort me. Thank you.
Plus there is nothing wrong about losing hair as male, since its a very masculin hormone/dna thing. As you said, embrace it.
I'm the third type of hairthinnig guy and my hairstyle consists of crying 24/7 because I'm just 20yo
No worries man, as long as you rock it with confidence then you're all good! I bet you look pretty badass too!
-Josh
There are things you can do. Finasteride and Minoxidil. Do, however, make sure to read up on the side-effects and make your own call.
You are not alone bro
22 almost same
Gematriaaa1 yes and I am 17...
Since I've rocked a beard the last 2 years nobody has mentioned that I am short and bald!

Thomas Anderson how short?
I have receding temples and thinning in the crown. I feel confident rocking the stubble look. Instead of being self-conscious about both, accepting it and going stubble has done me a world of good.
Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard made the brush forward look popular back in the day!

-Josh
Uh that's why they don't. Why put yourself out there
I like how 99% of the pictures of people with the hairstyles he's showing are people wITH A LOT OF HAIR LEFT
Damn! Did he just say the number one mistake is shaving it all off? I totally disagree.

I'm more like the last two guys and I'm using nioxin, which works. I have wavy/curly hair and I guess my style resembles the last two gentlemen. That for the video.
I just shaved my head bald, when I noticed the thinning was caused mainly by my Crohn's medication
I leave my top around 1/2" - 3/4" top and a tight fade on sides. Now I'm growing a yeard.
Good ideas! Thanks Eric

Im not even old! I just turned 17 and i got a bald spot on the top of my head.
Same bro. But I don’t care so much

I look forward to trying out your products for my beard (yes, that's another change from the look in that photo), especially for my new handlebar moustache. ;)
BRO your beard is looking great. Good advice on the hair. I need the Bruce Willis cut I think grrrrr yes grrrrr,,, Big Thumb's up man!~John
Thanks for the support and the compliment man! I bet you could rock the Bruce Willis cut, go for it man!
-Josh
I guess I'm lucky at age 51 I still have a pretty good head of hair. However I am thinning in the crown area receded a little bit. I have been growing my hair out for about a year. Fortunately I'm 6ft5 so most people don't see the crown . What to do next ?
Dennis LePorte I wish youd know how lucky you are, im 19 and i shouldnt be dealing with this. but i am.
i used to have amazing hair during high school but now its becoming a thinning mess around my hairline and temples
Hey Eric! that's some clean advice!
I'm cutting my long hair this Saturday, such shame Carlos can't record it!
Thanks for the feedback man! Haha, he's getting married this weekend, so maybe next time.
-Josh
please cut your hair
radiation?
Eric, I think you'd love Minneapolis. You should come visit!
I am currently experiencing receding temples and the best hairstyle I have found to remedy it is Cillian Murphys from peaky blinders.
Finally some realistic advice...so there's no hope for me. Got it! I'll keep shaving it. Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Don't give up hope!
Rock your own unique style and flaunt it!
- Jack
My unique style is now a hat and lots and lots of tears.
What about if you are rocking the George Jefferson with it totally bald at the crown and top? I still have edges. My head looks like a fish bowl.
your hair with your beard looks badass
It's a great combo!
- Jack
Beardbrand exactly you should thank God 😂❤
more like he should ...
why does this dude sound like every body loves raymond
Did he say that is august most of the people loose they hairs?
Gavin mcinness doing a funny voice
My front hairline is getting pretty thin and we can see the skin showing through. Using a clipper, I cut the sides and the back super short and the top(the part that is not thinning) longer but shorter than the front. Doing this, it looks kind of the same than the front (dark with the skin showing through). At the stage I'm at, I can still manage to make it look uniform.
That seems like it's pretty easy to maintain! Great job finding something you can rock with confidence!
-Josh
My hair started thinning several years ago. I've been doing the Bruce Willis since then. Though this was far before GoT even was in the makings, so today you actually gave me an interesting option; the Iain Glen. What's the actual name of this hairstyle? I doubt my hairdresser will know what I mean when I come asking for an Iain Glen ;)
I believe it's called the long side part. If you come in with photos of Iain from different angles, that'll help your barber a lot!
-Josh
Thanks Josh! Very helpful :)
Can a man bun cover the bald patch in the back?
I'm receding temple guy. But unfortunately my features are too sharp to pull off the slicked back look. fml.
Does anybody know why ROgain is called REgain in Germany or maybe also in other European countries? It seems to be exactly the same product but is named differently -.-
Good stuff!
I used hair growing foam , now I have hair balls & my cat looks at me funny.
This guy is like a Ferrari , letting me know I can pimp out my Corolla. l
Im gonna try "the Quiff" hairstyle!
btw thanks alot for the vid (Y)
It's a great one man! Happy to help out!
-Josh
7:48 there is a lesson to be learned there. What do you do when you get a cavity? You GO TO THE DENTIST. Now, what do you do when you notice you're looking your hair? YOU BOOK YOURSELF IN FOR A HAIR TRANSPLANT.
Sound logic, but I doubt that is covered by insurance. LOL
Great tips for hairstyles , with deep hair loss , maybe a micropigmentation may work if you don't want to shave the head , never the less, all styles you show works better with beard , I think beard is a great helper when you are losing hair on top
Im 22 and would recommand david beckham styles. Worked for me.
True that his hair style from 2015 would be good, beckham has a high hair line which i never noticed before
Great advice!!!
the problem with my hair is that it gets dark and greasy way too fast and it looks like shit most of the time........i'd wash my hair today and by the day after tomorrow my hair will look like the hair of a bum sleeping under a bridge... how do i make the clean hair look last longer?... i only use head&shoulders cause it's the only shampoo that keeps my hair dandruff free
what was the name of that first guy with the side part ?
I'm 19 and I think my temples are beginning to recede, damn
Are you sure? some people are born with high temples like myself, doesn't mean you're losing hair.
At least I'm not. Best way to tell is watching old pictures
True, some people are born with high temples including myself. I thought I was going bald and I cut my long hair, but I was wrong.. It's just genetic, but I decided to not grow my hair back. I was little scared how it looks, bcs I haven't seen myself 7 years without hair and the results were amazing, now I'm rocking buzzz cut with long beard and It's pretty cool.
nesilinhoff Awesome brother. Rock on !
rip
It could just be some high temples instead of receding ones, so hopefully it's the latter. We actually just put out a video of a guy with high temples getting his hair cut: ua-cam.com/video/2kPmEqFJctk/v-deo.html
Best of luck man. We still think you look great no matter what!
-Josh
Holy shit bro, I had no idea you were thinning. You have rad hair!
I think the moment I start balding I'll just shave it all off and leave my beard.
I make it easy for myself and my barber: I tell him to do a Number 1 all over and a tapered neckline. Easy, peasy. My haircuts take about 10 minutes to do and I don't have to get it cut for 5 or 6 weeks.
How and with what products did u style your Pomp back in the days Eric?
Just some good ol' styling balm and a hair dryer!
-Josh
Yes, excuse me. I forgot you already had a video about your hairstyle on your channel, so I watched it immediately. Sry :)
Own it
Hair transplant from dr Bolton out of Fort Lauderdale Florida
Rogain daily
Shampoo for hair loss
Laser comb
I have been wondering though: if my receding hairline includes a lot of thinned out hair in the front, do I let it all grow back out? Or do I shave off some of it to clean up the hairline?
It all just matters what makes you feel most confident.
Beardbrand understood!
Start lifting
@@cornstar1253 Well that isn't what I asked, but still on the list!
Love your videos but is there any chance that you guys are going to start up another podcast again
We've tossed around the idea a bit and want to live stream more as well, but we need to upgrade our equipment first.
-Josh
Beardbrand I understand that. Keep up the good work. Beard brand is what gave me the courage to grow a beard!
buzz cut looks nice
I've cut my hair super short before but right now, i shaped my hair into the pompadour style. most of the time, when im fishing, my hair looks messed up revealing my balding temple but i dont care since the bass only care about being tricked into biting 😁
Too funny. "The number one mistake you can make with hair loss is just shaving it all off." Spoken like a true rep for Rogaine.
What % rogaine do yu use ?
I’m sure the queen is going to allow William to have a bald stubbly scalp of hair. That’s definitely what comes to mind when I imagine royalty lmao
