I’ve had a slowly receding hairline since my mid-20’s. I went to a few consultations with places like Bosley, but even the most basic procedures would have cost thousands, and even being approved for financing cost me about $200 a month. I just couldn’t afford it. I still wish that I wasn’t having this issue, and kind of wish I could do something about it, but I’m now 44, and over time I’ve come to feel like it’s just not worth worrying about it and sacrificing my happiness. I’ve always been about living my life naturally, and have never been into things like plastic surgery, popping pills for any slight issue, or eating unnatural foods. So my advice? Just live a healthy lifestyle and be happy with who you are.
Good advice, I tell people, if billionaires like Elton and Musk can’t find a cure then their isn’t one. Beckham wears a hair piece, everyone knows that. He did have the Tiny Tears hair plugs done but none of what he has now is grown naturally.
I had a colleague of mine, now retired he lost his hair in his 20's in the early 70's i never really put much thought about people with little or no hair until it started happening to me in my forties more than a decade ago....i remember one day feeling down he said to me , how the hell do you think i felt back in the early 70's in my early 20's which just so happened to be the start of the hippy years lol.....that really put things into perspective for me and i just started shaving it all leaving a little mohawk on top life can be a bitch sometimes you just have to get on with it cause it will soon be over anyway .lol
I also started losing my hair in my mid 20's. I had both a receding hairline as well as started to lose a lot of hair on the crown area. It just continued as I got older. I admit, it bothered me when I was in my 20's and early 30's. I thought about trying Rogaine, and I had seen advertisements about Bosley and other methods, but just never did anything about it. By the time I got to my mid 30's I just didn't worry about it anymore. I just figured why worry about that stupid crap. I would either shave my entire head or buzz all my hair down to stubble. The good news is I haven't paid for a haircut in over 25 years. I just make sure to wear a hat and use a lot of sunscreen when I am outside.
As I always say : solve it with a good razor. Since then, my life became so much easier with less worried because I am tagged as a bald man rather than a balding man.
It's amazing how people can get BETTER looking, when they are older, from one year to the next. Just a life style adjustment and a year or two later you improve.
Especially if you're rich, can afford to have your teeth fixed, have a nutritionist, access to expensive skin care treatments, expensive haircuts/hair restoration treatment and of course a stylist and afford the best tailored clothes money can buy. It also helps to have many of your photographs taken by the best in the business too.

I have a similar hair type to David and even though my hair is thinned out even areas that haven’t had hair loss look like that photo of his with the buzz cut, I think this kind of hair just becomes alot more transparent with a short cut in direct sunlight.
same, this happens to be the natural dark ash blonde hair colour , i have it as well. in direct light it is passthrough in dark lightning it looks dark blonde on very bright days it looks like its kind blonde its just depends on the lightning and how long ur hair is. if i have a buzzcut i look like im thinning hair aswell. as a kid it is very bright blonde it tends to be light blonde in teenage years and when u hit puberty is darkens till ur old it becomes very dark
David Beckham is such a handsome guy. That one photo was so mean. Although, maybe it was good for other guys to see they are not the only one! Great analysis, Dr. Linkov😊
The oral minoxidil does work however has made some of my hair rather coarse and wiry making a nice natural look difficult at times. Interested to try PRP.
I'm a couple of years younger than David Beckham. I started noticing hair loss about 4-5 years ago. The thing is at this point in my life - married with kids - I don't really care.
I am 50 and been battling hair loss for 25 years, this year i just decided to stop, i used duta and fin with terrible side effects, honest my hair loss is not so bad and its normal to thin at a certain age. Worst comes to worst buzz it.
Doc, in 2008 he couldn't be taking Propecia or similar because he was still a professional soccer player and those medications are officially labeled as doping.
I think that you’d be surprised at how having, even, SOME hair, whether it’s very diffuse or not, can dramatically improve with fibers. Before my HT, using fibers gave my head the appearance that it has now without the fibers
The fibres look so fake in strong lighting though. I thought they looked great and then I went to get my hair cut in a brightly lit barber shop and could see how dull they looked compared to natural hair.
I'll probably get a hard time for saying this but David Beckham's skin looked quite aged in his late 30's - wrinkles and loss of collagen. The photo of him with the shaved head in his mid 40's (admittidly an unflattering photo!) also shows him looking quite old for 45 even though he's obviously physically very fit. I do wonder if propecia/minox contribute to skin aging. I've heard minox inhubits collagen synthesis.
Thank you for you analysis of this issue. My 19 year old son is experiencing hair loss. I am wondering if it would be safe for him to consider taking the oral form of treatment for hair loss? Should I begin by having him see our family physician or a dermatologist? Thank you!
Hello, if you can go see a dermatologist, because if it’s androgenetic alopecia the sooner you start the better, time is very important. If let evolve naturally it’s only gonna get worse with time.
If it starts at 19 just like one of my friends you should consider a hair transplant and hoping his hair loss is going very fast so he can have 2 or 3 hair transplants to cover his entire head again and dont have to worry about it again. If its starts at 19 years old its probably for the best to just let it go because whatever he is gonna do with treatment he will be bald before his 30th
I had hair restoration surgery in 2007. That plus Finasteride has solved my male pattern baldness issue. Before then, I was panicking about my quickly receding hairline. Now I don't even think about it. Thank you, Dr. Wasserbauer.
@@bkinouye I wished people that whent in fuabsteride would do tests before, when they're feeling side effects and when they're supposedly not to compare changes in their sperm count, testosterone and dht. Could very easily have judt stopped noticing the sides after a year and a half
I am 28 years old and recently agreed to doing Mesotherapy with Dutasteride along with PRP. Do you think Mesotherapy with dutasteride will inhibit the drug to get absorbed systematically? It scares to think me that dutasteride will decrease my SERUM DHT, and not only be limited to scalp DHT
I wouldn't take Dutasteride bro it literally tanks your DHT by like 95%+, that's more for if you have any kind of prostate problems, 1mg of Finasteride per day or 3x a week (depends on your side effects) is enough and will bring down your DHT by 70% which is more than enough to reduce DHT in the scalp but still have some left in your blood for normal functions.
David Beckham has always looked great at every age. It is interesting to see what he’s able to do with the hair fibers alone making it appear more fuller. I would’ve had no idea he did that had I not seen this video. I always just assumed he had a full head of hair. But also sounds like he has enough hair to use the fibers adequately.
Not gonna lie, Dr. Linkov. I love your content and have learned so much since you started your channel but now I kinda live for your sponsorship content too. You literally made me laugh out loud, Lord Linkov. Thank you.💛💙
If he was using finisteride & monoxidil from age 33, it didn't seem to help much because by age 45 there was a lot of hair loss & it didn't look like there was any regrowth. I've also heard that many transplants don't last long. The DHT will kill the transplanted hairs eventually too.
Dr. Gary - I've been bald since I was 18. Lost almost all of my hair on top before 20, so I just started shaving it down. I started using minoxodil on my beard just to try it out a month ago, and WOW! I'm growing hair in spots on my face I couldn't before. I decided to take a leap of faith and put it on my head. I figured, what the hell, right? Much to my surprise, my hair is beginning to come in. I've been using it about a month. Its sparse so far (hand full of hairs coming up in the center, and I'm starting to see a decent amount of dark hairs coming in the back. Everywhere I read, this is impossible. Have you EVER known any men like me to grow all of their hair back using just minoxodil? And by the way -Thank you for all of the great videos!! I just started watching your channel. Fantastic. Keep up the amazing work.
David Beckham went through exactly what I go through probably start around 35 plus years old it will start I see hair sheds and starting to lose hair from the middle scalp. But I will grew it back exactly like he did.
Hello Dr. Linkov. I've started my Microneedleing/Dermapen journey 4 weeks ago at weekly intervals, 1.5mm depth. May now change to 10, then 14 day intervals after watching your video. I've also purchased a good scalp massager with vibration mode. I know Minoxidil works and had great results previously, but when I stopped I experienced MAJOR shedding. This time I wanted to try a natural route so this is my personal elixir. Carrier oils: Jojoba. Black Seed oil. Black Caster oil. 60ml each. Essential Oils: Rosemary, Jasmine, Peppermint. My question is, does one have to Microneedle permanently to keep full gains? If I stop after 18 months will I lose out, shed anything? I've heard Microneedleing, like Minoxidil, is a permanent practice. In your opinion is this correct and what do think of my mix and Scalp massager combo? Thanks in advance. So far, best video on the subject I've seen
Massage do little apart from improve scalp health that can help reduce inflammation. But it do not affect Hairloss. Also there is little to zero evidence about those natural remedies. Basically finasteride and minoxidil is what is proven to work. And microneedling can aid using minoxidil. And also create some regrowth as you used it. Deep every second week needling.
@@seanpadraigobrien1260 I use Black Seed Oil as well as others written as a base oil and add the Essentials, including Rosemary. Sometimes I take BSOil orally for everall health.
@@anujsingla6185 Hello. The oils work. I have filled in some of the MPB, Male Pattern Baldness, lines somewhat. There is still a good ways to go but it's far better than what it was. They work for me. I have not been very strict either. Sometimes I forget and don't rub in oils for days in stead of every day, and needle once every 10 days in stead of 7. I know if I do Minox I will get back what I lost even quicker because I seem to respond to it extremely well. I'll give it a few more months and see if I'll re-introduce Minox.
Another great video. After listening to this article it seems that Finasteride and Minoxidyl only slow the process of hair loss and not prevent it. So once you have a transplant are you relying on the DHT resistant hair to stay the course and the medication to basically slow down any more loss.
This is correct - which is why most surgeons advise to be on at least Finasteride. It's a lifelong journey, in which you're slowing loss, and adding more hair where it cannot be recovered
Well slowing down is preventing it to a certain degree. Finasteride stops or halts the process to different degree while Minoxidil do not stop it at all but boost the current hairs. Thickens and create longer hair cycles
@@danielrocha941 I have used it over 20 years. Stopped almost totally or slowed down at least totally my Hairloss. No problem with libido at all. No sides apart from a little less thick ejaculation.

I’ve been taking minox oral. No side effects. My hairline hasn’t changed(better or worse)…. But, I have grow more body hair(chest, stomach, hands) which I like. I’ve been taking for 5 months
I see shadowing or camouflaging from hair direction & movement. His hair could be lighter or transparent at the temples too because mine is and I’m naturally brunette. I’ve seen it often on men n women. Coloring the hair 1-2 shades darker is subtle and automatically darkens temple “baby hair” is what it called therefore creating thicker hairline. I know about fibers also as I’m a hairdresser ..it’s messy but does darken baby hairs and the roots (newgrowth from the scalp) depends where applied ….but can somebody just ask him if he using fibers?
Looks like from 2018 he has had a hair piece glued on. Hair definitely seems thicker and a different texture. Hence why he doesn't vary his hairstyles as much or have buzz cuts. I may be wrong but sure looks like this. His father is bald. That however doesn't always have a bearing but just saying.
Also please make an review on toppik hair fiber, i used that for 1 year , does it has side effects, is it good to use for long, can u use it daily, and can u use it after hair transplant.
He doesn't have hair loss he has fine hair when cut very short in strong light combined with sweat or when wet will look very thin if viewed from a certain angel.
Could you explain why pills and not something you put directly on the head? Im using the foam for over two years now, and its making me crazy. im getting my hair back for a couple of months, have a full head and then start loosing it REALLY fast for some time. Then the circle repeats.
There are ways you can slowdown or prevent hair loss without drugs. I've been natural DHT blockers (saw palmetto extract, pumpkin seed extract & selenium - don't take over 200 mcg of selenium). Combined with scalp massages & using a laser comb its prevented a lot of hair loss. There's still some thinning over time, but prevention is key.
Stem cell treatment is where its at. No hair replacement technology today looks good unless your just filling out some hairlines or something. It's for the few. I hope stem cell treatment will become an actual option in the near future.

I went to my Doctor yesterday and while examining me observed that I had lost all my hair on my legs and now on my arms! At 62 I am going to look like a piglette! Nevermind Beckham, what can be done about that!?
Loss of hair on the extremities is usually a sign of peripheral vascular disease. Do you have high blood pressure, raised cholesterol or diabetes by any chance?
There were photos of him at a press conference and it looks like he’s got a carpet on his head. You can’t go from having thinning hair to a full head without help. Also, his dad is pretty bald as well so it was bound to happen eventually.
Since 2022 my crown area hair had just almost gone. Any restoration possible? it's viral that oral finestaride uses can be high risk of prostate cancer ?!

Living in Scotland and seeing an American offer up a square foot of land via an advert.. I have to admit, that one caught me off guard. What a strange thing.. anyway well made video as always Lord Gary ;)
Amazing video as always, doc. I love your videos so much :)))) Let me share my story. First of all my hair is/was very wavy/curly and thick, it always has been like that. So, my temples started receding 1, 2 years ago, and recently my hairline started thinning a little bit (im 27 now), but I wasn't really noticing anything until this year, because I thought it's normal since my dad always had that type of hairline ((with the temples a bit in - he's Norwood 2 I think)) his whole life and he still has full head of hair (he's 57). So anyway, 2-3 months ago, I noticed that my temples started to thin way too much and also some slight thinning on the front top of my hair ((every other zone on my head has very thick hair)), I started seeing my scalp a little bit when on light or when my hair is wet, but I also have other condition on the same area where is the thinning which is called seborrheic dermatitis ((very severe dandruff condition with red zones and flaky scalp, exactly on the front where my hair started thinning and I have it since maybe 10-12 years, I also thought it's something that will go away with time)) so I finally decided to go to a dermatologist (1 month ago maybe), because things started to get out of hand and she confirmed that I have seborrheic dermatitis and prescribed me Kelual DC shampoo and cream for the face + Zinc and Biotin for the hair. I also showed her that my hair started to look thin at the front and she said it isn't from the seborrheic dermatitis and is probably due to the male pattern baldness, but I don't really trust that and honestly think it's from the SB. So I used that shampoo for like 2-3 weeks, I didn't see any results.. Both my dandruff (SD) and hair loss conditions were still the same. So 2-3 weeks ago I switched to Nizoral Ketoconazole 2% version, cause I read that it is probably the best treatment for seborrheic dermatits but also helps Androgenetic Alopcica cause it blocks DHT a little bit. For these 2 weeks I see a great improvement on the scalp, my dandruff disappeared + my SB is not that tough as it was! I really hope it works for the hair too! And i'm still taking Zinc+Biotin, also Magnesium. I treat my hair with Quinine Water as well cause many people told me that it supports the hair follicles and the regrowth. And yes.. I read about finasteride and minoxidil, but I don't want to risk using things such as fin or min (even if they work), because of the side effects I'm reading about.. I love my hair, but I can't risk damaging my male sex characteristics... Also I heard scalp massaging helps, so I started massaging/combing my scalp a lot too, hope it helps. Thank you for reading this :-)
Nizoral works for dandruff but is toxic for hair follicles and causes chronic hair thinning. Magnesium can also contribute to hair loss due to the selenium content.
@@chrisk1489 Really?? But many people say that they managed to regrow their hair back with Ketoconazole shampoo 2% (Nizoral) + it really healed my SD, i'm afraid if I stop it my SD will return..
@@Dzqnn Absolutely 100% without any doubt it thinned my hair out noticeably, the same with T-gel. I promise you it will thin your hair out and i don't want this to happen to others. I wouldn't use it at all. If you must use it, and i would highly advise against using it, but if you must, maybe just once a week. Look at your diet, check vitamin A, vit D. Brush hair daily for good scalp circulation. I am not sure about zinc, some people say it raises DHT and others say it decreases DHT so that's a tricky one i can't advise. Finasteride may help by reducing DHT, but it has certain side effects that may be undesirable. Micro-needling can be very good but one needs to research this very carefully and not rush into it (use conservative needle length). I wish i could offer you a cure but all i have is my obsession and i am still thinning myself. I know for sure some things that don't work, and Nizroal is toxic for follicles.

@M M It may also be sun damage too I guess - spending a lot of time training and playing football outside.

Hello Dr.
Carrier oils:
Jojoba. Black Seed oil. Black Caster oil. 60ml each.
Essential Oils:
Rosemary, Jasmine, Peppermint.
Hello.
How can you get minoxidil as a pill? Does it have to be prescribed by a doctor or can it be found over the counter?
You can buy them online

Could you explain why pills and not something you put directly on the head? Im using the foam for over two years now, and its making me crazy. im getting my hair back for a couple of months, have a full head and then start loosing it REALLY fast for some time. Then the circle repeats.
I think we ought to own up to balding. Sometimes hair gets in the way of seeing the heart.

Amazing video as always, doc. I love your videos so much :))))
Let me share my story.
