- It's hard to believe that Granblue Fantasy: Relink was first announced in 2016, with development handled by another developer before shifting to Cygames Osaka. As an action RPG spin-off to Cygames' successful free-to-play title, it feels like a slam-dunk concept, especially with its setting of boundless skies and floating isles.
Instead of retelling the base game's setting, it offers an original campaign with Gran/Djeeta and friends dealing with new threats. Other characters join you for the ride, whether it's missions with suitably world-threatening stakes or garnering precious materials for the many upgrades.
However, despite the fast-paced and fluid nature of combat, clean visuals, solid voice-acting and plentiful content (with an endgame that frequently recycled content), Granblue Fantasy: Relink leaves something to be desired. - Ігри

It doesnt look like a cash grab it looks like they put a lot of love and tried to stick to the elements they felt were its strongest.

This game is incredible.
Just got done playing the Demo and it has one of the best ARPG combat systems I’ve ever played. Graphics are solid and the voice acting is excellent as well.
I'm really tempted to get it so gonna download the demo now

I tried it till I got to the first town. Seems a bit boring. Tales of Arise is better IMO.

Is the resolution in Performance 1080p even was in the demo..so blurry ,or is the quality mode sharper yet with 60fps.!.!.!.!.
You can toggle blur off, as far as performance, yes 1080p at 60fps.

Agreed, I just finished the main campaign yesterday. I progressed through some of the post campaign content last night and the gameplay loop is addictive.

Seeing some other comments here is pretty confusing. The game either gets shit on because its not exactly like Monster Hunter or it gets shit on because its not the "usual JRPG" in the case of a crazy big story with amazing plot points and all. Its as if people don't want to understand that every game is different and doesn't have to be exactly like other titles to be fun.
Like with a map as an example. People say there are small maps especially on the "hunt style" sidequests and that is supposedly a negative. For me that is actually positive. I hated the fact you had to "search" for a monster in Monster Hunter for example. But if others like it then that's fine. Doesn't mean I say that its shit or waste of time, it's just not mine.
In my case I love grinding and I really love min-maxing so I think this should be up my alley.
I think its fine if some here don't like a certain type of game but I think its really disrespectful to say a game is shit just cause you don't like it.
To be fair I watched fextralife review and they did a much better job at explaining the strengths and weaknesses of the game. Allowing you to deem it worthy of your purchase or not.
I thought this video was weird due to how much he references the story of the game, when it apparently makes up about 20% of the game.
@@nathanscott2871 I was actually a little confused by that aswell. He went into the story a lot wich is fine if ppl want to buy it for the story, though it isnt the strong suit of it.
Also he went over it very superficial and didnt get into the details.
But didn't want to seem ill willed towards him and respect his opinion giving it a 7/10.

I 100% agree, I've been waiting for a game EXACTLY like this one for at least a decade now - nothing anybody says can change the fact that this is practically my perfect game. But it seems like there are quite a few people who take issue with it, and while it's unfortunate, that's not gonna stop me from loving it to death

Loving GBFR and am at end game. I love grinding, improving my teams and seeing how fast my efforts allow me to kill bosses that used to kick my butt. I also love the combat and lore, the animated series sure is good, too.
GrandBlue Fantasy Relink gets a 7 for a lack of story length and content.

I was worried about the other characters fitting in with the story with way there unlocked.
Sure it wouldn’t be easy but maybe there could have been a better way.
This game is absolutely brilliant... if you've played a fair number of JRPGs, as a fan of the genre, you'll probably spot the countless quality of life and well-thought-out design decisions....I would be SO pleased if Final Fantasy took some cues from it. The combat feels great and it is actually chuckle-funny (not as much as Rebirth, but that might be a good thing for some people). If you're into JRPG games, it's absolutely worth trying the demo at least.
Can the cooldowns be removed by endgame?
Link Time, along with masteries, removes cool downs during Link Time. Not sure if one can fully remove cooldowns for any abilities.

Got early access on PS5 knowing nothing about the franchise, if you like jrpgs, monster hunter or grind games with solid combat definitely pick this up

Fairly poor critisms here, some that dont seem quite balanced. Fair enough that you had expectations for a long expansive indepth character heavy narrative experience, but the game isnt trying to do that. It also had no prior record of that and has a lower pricepoint, and is a AA studio. So as a reviewer you should definitely make people aware that that isnt this game, then proceed to review the game based on what its focus lies in. Example saying that the lack of emotional development of the NFL players may leave you wanting more doesnt work cause its not the focus of the game. (Obviously an extreme example)
You spent the majority of the video talking about what is essentially 20% of the game (main story) saying that you wanted the 20+ characters to be fully fleshed out and involved in all cutscenes.
You expected this from a studios first attempt at a big budget jrpg in this universe. Also the game is £10-£20 cheaper than AAA titles are released at.
You are fully entitled to your opinions and feelings, i just dont think you did the best job expressing them with this video.

Wym lower price point? The game is still 60 dollars I don't see how that's lower than regular triple A games unless you're comparing it to 70 dollar games then I guess?

The game is great overall and I’m glad that it isn’t that long as I want to play Persona 3 Reload right afterwards. Only complaint is that the game is fairly easy at first so I recommend playing it in Hard mode for a more challenging experience.

The whole time I’m waiting for this game thinking it’s the updated fighting game. I legit thought they added a full 3D RPG story mode.
It shows up and I’m thinking WTF is this only to do research and see the fighting game is digital only and dropped in December. And this was a whole stand alone game.
I'm interested in the game, but the only thing I'm worried about is that I want to play as multiple characters, but I feel like I have to spend a lot of time grinding to the point I'm going to get bored of the game.The game looks fun, but I can kind of see how it gets repetitive.

I'm fine with it not being open world or having characters without much development in the campaign, to me the shame is the stages are too short. I love the beauty of the world, so being the fighting a secondary element to me, with the campaign finished the fun is over. I hope they expand the areas or add new locations in future dlc.

Looks beautiful but combat seems chaotic. According to the 15 minute footage there was about 95% of combat, are there any calmer moments like exploring without fighting? Those waves after waves of enemies might become tedious after a while.
7 hrs in, it’s incredible. Graphics, story, rpg elements, unique characters gameplay. Yes there are plenty of calm moments for you to enjoy the scenery

@ryam11 majority of other people are saying because the story is just a fun romp, it's not necessary to consume any previous media. If you already know the universe this apparently adds to it, if you don't know the universe its not the main focus so don't worry about it unless you want to.

I personally thought this review was very tainted and bias. Just to clarify I have played nothing of granblue, but this reviewer seemed a little butthurt by the game. Fextralife seemed way more objective (apart from when they specifically say what they personally liked and disliked).

The problem with comparing things is that it can lead to a stigmatized way of thinking when overdone. Comparing things is fine, but in the end people should always judge a game on its own strengths.

I've never heard of this series somehow but it's rated a 4.7/5 out of 10,000 PS5 reviews and almost nothing reviews that well with picky, angry gamers, so it must be doing something very right.

Nah not really. Cygames have a track record of having decent or even great stories in their other games. Expecting a good story or campaign from this game is not a stretch.
It's like a decent first attempt. Not something I'd "waste" my time on because there's so many good games to play.
But I'll be looking closely at their next one.

yeah, it's a pass for me. kind of a shame since i had a bit of fun with the demo, but i cant justify paying that much for so little content, especially considering the endgame is just the repetitive MH loop.

Gameplay is very addictive like monster hunter etc. But story? Story is garbage. But the boss fights, level design you can tell they put effort into it at the story stages. It was really cool, good moments. But storytelling is just bad dude, it doesn’t make any sense at all, it was more focused on teenager audience. The characters were cringe….Especially the captain and the dragon thing…Ugh…..When they’re going to make a game with dark story anime that people dies and never return etc. I hate happy ending it’s F boring and cliche….And fighting those villains doesn’t make any sense at all and they become allies I mean wtf…PS: If anyone know a good anime game that has dark storytelling about sorrow, pain, sadness, grief.
