Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution how do u train ur puppy to stop jump biting and snapping .. he’s been with me since he was 2 w3ks old (a stray pup) .. he’s now about 10 weeks and is very active.. he knows how. To sit and wait.. not so keen on being rubbed on his body as he tends to bite hard

My 9 week old goldendoodle refuses to go into his cage on his own. We have tried the treats and the toys and he only goes partially in and then runs off. I also try to get his full attention to into a sit and he ignores me and then starts biting me or my clothing (or something else).

Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

@Haley Bacon Calm down, Ms. Bacon. I was making fun of weebs, and you take it as a personal attack. Clearly I have struck a nerve in you related to your lack of parenting skills.
P.S. Do you even know what character that is? That's the loli character from the game "Doki doki literature club" And i suggest you don't look up what a loli is for your own sake.... Anyone who would willingly change their profile picture to this character should not be near kids....
But you Karens are so quick to defend anyone, even if you have no grasp on the topic. You disgust me.

@Haley Bacon If you knew anything about the game you'd realize that this character is a child. Also, i'm not a weeb, the closest thing to anime that I've watched has been the Simpsons.

This is the list for those who also have a poor short term memory:
    *Mistakes to avoid:*
    5. Getting frustrated too early 2:38
    4. Lack of proper supervision 4:44
    3. Not adequately socializing your puppy 07:22
    2. Underestimating the amount of exercise that many dogs will require 07:39
    1. Letting your puppy off leash in uncontrolled settings 08:03
It would be awesome if this reference were in the description :) I like to refer back to advice after I have seen it and it is nice to have short cuts!Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution

When he started to become playful, bity and well too energetic, I thought I did something wrong that might have affected his behaviour and would mentally affect him negatively. Now I'm relieved😌. • @maria-elenaagrela231

Wild Bear so I just got my puppy and we are socializing with neighbor pets and some neighbors that I feel safe with. I’ve checked on elderly neighbors with her and they love the furry visit. You can still keep you distance and allow your puppy to socialize a bit it’s not perfect scenario but it’s better than nothing. I also wipe her down with a wet one followed by a puppy wipe and the leash and harness when we come back in. I spray my shoes down and I have outside only clothes and wash my hands when we get back in. Im also taking my pup on any errands I may have to run so they get used to car rides and different smells. Also, remember to have hours where you puppy has quiet time away from you so that when we go back to work, it’s not a total shock to their puppy emotions. Separation anxiety is a real thing which brings up a whole slew of issues and behaviors.

I recommend pulling your arms tight to your body, and turning away. your dog thinks your still playing if you cry out, so a full disengagement means she looses her fun time. She’ll be less likely to bite if it means you stop play time. (Even if it’s only for a minute or two until she settles down)

Dion7 it's not really fair to assume that because my girlfriend's dad brought in a puppy and planned to keep her outside in the scorching heat (it heats up to 50 Celsius!!!) so i offered to take her myself. i never had a dog nor planned on having a dog but now i do, and although it's sudden i make sure that i read up on exactly how to take care of her so she can live the best life she can! just because you did it before hand doesn't mean you're essentially better, everyone has their circumstances.

Dion7 HI, it took me 4 years to understand the breed, and after that I got 1 pure bred English Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup. 3 years later the second one followed.. another 3 years later we got another one ;) Last August one of the pack sadly passed on, and we now have a new pup. So yeah.. I took a well made decision to get the happy breed of staffies :)
Also remember that you outlive them.. I still get sick thinking about the passing of our Murdock.. That's 9 months ago.. They give you a life full of great memories, but sadly after a year or 12-14 it's time to say goodbye.. Murdock was only 7.5 years of age and died by a bowl disease that was incurable.. You are still the best Murdock... I love you boy !!!!

My new puppy came home on Monday and by today, Saturday, she has learned to ring the bells on the backdoor when she has to go out. She has learned sit, down, focus, heel and stay, all in 4 1/2 days. I am crate training her. She's on raw diet and her treats are freeze dried raw also. This is how I got her tolerant so fast, consistency and treats. She know Im the boss and I never hit or scream at her. Puppies are like sponges, they learn fast and they love learning. You can play for hours with your puppy but nothing will wear them out like using their brain. Good luck all you new puppy people and don't give up or give in, :)

We have an unfenced yard and live next to a street, and I was able to train our Shih-Tzu off leash to never leave the property. I did it by walking her on leash around the boundaries consistently. After a few weeks, with her scent around the borders, she understood her boundaries and she never leaves them without our invitation. Maybe we got lucky, or maybe it was consistent puppy training? I can now walk her around the neighbor hood without a leash and she stays directly on my left heel all the time for the most part. She only stops to sniff something and I have to call her to come with me on rare occasion.

    • @r.b.4611

Don't forget to first teach your put to bite you with less force, before teaching it not to bite.
Ian Dunbar is a bit proponent of this, his way of teaching it is basically to wait till the pup bites you hard enough to hurt, and then you sort of cry out like the pup hurt you, and it will learn to bite you softer.
You may want to watch a video of him doing it before doing it yourself.
But yeah, first reduce the strength with which the dog thinks it can bites humans, THEN teach it to stop biting.
      Cheers!

We have a crate from Midwest. It's doing extremely well. Just make sure you get the right size for your dog. Not your puppy, get the size that will need when your dog is full-grown.
In the video, they show the crate on a hardwood floor. I would put something under it like a small rug or mat so it doesn't scratch potentially.

Puppy biting is TEMPORARY. As long as you don't make a big deal about it. When my boys are biting I just start massaging their gums, tongue, upper pallet. I want to be able to brush their teeth. I play and rub their bellies, their feet, their tail and bottoms, everything gets touched. If you are showing any fear or react at all with their biting (that is how they discover this big ole crazy world) you ARE going to cause major problems! In addition, get great toys and when they are chomping on you replace you with the toy. Play tug tug or get or let them chase you around or take them outside to go pee poo and discover the big world ON A LEASH! Their little teeth are sharp, yes they are. They are babies! Are you going to allow a baby to terrorize you? Scratches and little punctures and a little blood is a rite of passage for you to HAVE a puppy. Get over it...please. You are missing out on all the cool stuff with a baby imprinting on YOU. And dang, they are easy to train right now. Don't overdo that as well but get COME, sit, stay back and loose leash walking done now. Always calm, always soft voice, do not get frustrated. Do not yell!! Excuse me, puppies just woke up and out they go!!

Alternatives to chewing. Calming her down before play. By that I mean if s/he will play tug of war with you? Get a rope or old rag [I use same rag, my Corgi knows which is hers even washed so she doesn't chew all towels] I first put some puppy gel on it the vet gave me that's a supplement. She loves the taste and it gave her the idea to chew the rag and play. Corgis are herding dogs. Nipping is part of herding instinct. So I'll drag the rag and move it side to side and she 'herds' it too. Inside play is quieter and not as rough as outdoor play. Couldn't handle working fulltime and having a pup at home.
The best way to stop the biting is to figure out something else for them to bite and run him/her till she's exhausted. Being disabled I have to get creative to 'sit' and run a Corgi but we manage.

How much reward treats do you end up feeding your puppy for following a command? I wonder if I stop the reward too soon, yet sometimes it seems like I could feed my little guy a half a cow and when I stopped he’d still jump up and bite me. 🙁

When my husband and I first married, he was gung ho to get a dog, and me, the cat lady, agreed, not knowing what I was getting myself into. My husband works out of town, and is only home for short spells, so it was entirely up to me to raise that poor pup. I made many huge mistakes, but he still turned out to be a really great dog. After eating the siding off the house, and eating the contents of the house, he settled down. He was free spirited though, and would bolt out the door, which he figured out how to open, all by himself, and then run the neighborhood, till he was exhausted. We learned to keep it locked. I didn't leash train him, and when I realized I should have done that, he was already huge, and would drag me down the road. He injured my arm, jerking his leash to hard, and I had to give it up, so he didn't get to go out for the walks he needed. Otherwise, he was overly friendly, and lovable. We had him put to sleep a couple of weeks ago, after ten years. He developed severe arthritis, and finally got to where he could no longer get up. He weighed over 100 lbs, so I couldn't help him up. I'm heartbroken, but I know a new puppy will be coming into our lives soon, and I want to be able to do things right next time.

+itsnotthesamething And here we are, six months later. I had my grieving to do, and finally, my heart ached for a new puppy. I had insisted that we needed a smaller dog, after I lost my last baby. So, we have an English Mastiff puppy! Yep. He will be around 200 lbs, when he's grown! We have had him almost two weeks, and he chews and bites like crazy, so I am back, to study up on how to handle him. I think I am doing better with this one, than I did with my last, because I know more what to expect. I'm working on him, but with him. I'll be glad when the chewing is under control, because my entire family are already covered in puncture wounds! I watched this video previously, but I was still grieving so bad from my last baby, that I didn't retain much of the info. I am doing a lot of things right though, so I am pleased with myself. Thanks for putting these training videos out there!

I hope this works on my corgi puppy Sakura, she bites every one she meets, she doesn’t mean it since she is about 3 months and is still teething. Her favorite things to bite or “attack” are leaves, hair ( yes she plays violently on attacking my hair and messes my fancy hairstyle up all the time) feet (anything on your feet, shoes etc) and loves my hands. She will not let anything get in her way, if I hide under a blanket, her sharp teeth just go through it, I give her her teething toys and squeeky toys but she chews on those for like 8 seconds, gets bored and then comes and jumps up trying to bite my face, hands or whatever body part is available to her mouth. I can’t keep her around younger kids since she loves little girls hair and tiny little fingers, I try holding her still and she starts barking and struggles to get free. So training her is the only thing I can do to protect everyone XD , because nothing can be done to stop her from attacking you unless u put her up in her cage and listen to her poor pupper whining, which honestly makes me sad so I have to let her out XD

Love you!!! Thank you so much for your videos! I’m getting my 10 week old chihuahua puppy tomorrow and I am planning on training her better than the 11 year old I have now. The one I have now is a total sweetheart and will stay and sit on command but she has never been really house trained, but I couldn’t ask for a more well behaved chihuahua.

Also when training your dog to sit, have them watch you and make eye contact to help them focus on you and when they keep eye contact for like 5 seconds reward them

The only problem I'm having now is pulling when she sees people or other dogs. She starts to pull towards the person/dog, and when I try to turn around to walk the other way she will sit down not not budge.

***** Walking on the leash is great. I have the same problem when we go to petsmart. As soon as we get into the parking lot, she starts crying breathing heavy. It's a real drag to deal with.

***** For me, Cassie was 10x worse on a harness. She's 53 lbs now and I keep her only on a collar and leash. For about 2 months I would keep her on a leash in the house. I also walked her around in the back yard every day. We do have a problem with taking new walking routes though. But on our usual walk she's really calm. Whenever I see someone, I walk into a business parking lot or immediately turn around before it's too late.
