In case you need to catch up, here is a playlist with ALL of Biscuits’ episodes in order: tinyurl.com/BISCUITSedition We hope you’re enjoying this series as much as we enjoyed filming it! Let us know what you think and give us your requests for future videos here!! We cast Biscuits the rescue puppy because of all of your comments 🙌 What kind of dog do you want to see next?!?
To answer your question, as much as I love puppy training videos, I would also love to see some rehab dogs as well, those who have the potential to be a good dog, but have had a bad history. Many times those are the dogs that suffer the most when it comes to finding a new loving home. Example, if they don't play well with other dogs at all, if they have mood swings, etc.
As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
I know, and she is like that with every dog that he has ever trained, she is the dog version of him, very interesting to see her being involved in the training process and teaching and helping a new pup as well. She is the perfect dog for him.
Poor Inertia! "Dad's playing with the bratty kid. I'll bring him a toy and show her how to play right." Zak: "Thanks, Inertia!" Takes toy and plays with bratty puppy instead of with Inertia. You can see it in her face: "Huh? What? You were supposed to play with me!" Oh, the trials of being the "good girl"!
Yes! This happened so often when we got our dachshund-Jack Russell puppy one year ago. Our 3 yr old doodle (who is very similar to Inertia in temperament) was so good with him, but often ended up being my helpmate. One year on both are best friends and the puppy biting is a thing of the distant past. Now helping with introduction to strangers coming into our house is the lesson of the day. COVID meant no real visits for the year and now the puppy thinks this is the way it should stay.
Having just gone through this stage it’s rather satisfying to know it’s normal for a puppy to do this and they do come out of it. My puppy is now 6 months and rarely bites anymore thank goodness
Biscuits is like the Energizer bunny...she keeps going and going and going. I got tired just watching her for 30 minutes. She's so confident, and hilarious, and the sweetest face while sound asleep.
To say I’ve been catching up on your ENTIRE backlog this past week, would be an understatement. First new episode I’ve seen as it comes out. Love the production value, the clarity in explanations, and the ups and downs being so realistic.
Fun fact! It's super-easy to make your own snuffle mat out of old clothes, no sewing involved. Take a big rectangle of denim or other sturdy cloth, and poke a bunch of holes in it in a grid pattern. Then cut up a bunch of pieces of softer cloth (tee shirts are great, but bonus points if you can get various textures) into strips. Tie a knot in the middle of each and poke the loose ends through a hole in the denim. Tie another knot, so you have knots on either side of the denim and they don't fall out. Repeat until the mat is covered. And voila! Recycled-fabric snuffle mat. Machine washable, though I recommend line drying.
I can't believe how well trained is Inertia, this is so impressive. Her behaving like that towards the puppy is all Zak's hard work, let's not forget that! :D
Such a fun series! Brings back memories of when my almost 2-year-old was a little puppy. Always love seeing and hearing Bree. Can't wait for the series where she does the training.
Just the video I need! My sister got a puppy recently and he's very enthusiastic about everything, especially biting, so I'm watching and taking notes for sure.
My 3-month old GSD mix puppy is exactly at this stage! In fact I was trying to calm her down on one of her biting frenzies when this episode dropped an hour ago. Thanks Zak, for your insights in your book. The videos and the book have given me hope about raising a well-behaved dog 👍🏽🎈😊
I remember when Inertia gave him marks on his arms like mine but I think she stopped earlier than my guy. I had 2 labs that didn't bite so this is new to me. Just lucky?
I rescued a 2 month old puppy and have been working with her on the basics of puppy training. She's only my second dog ever but this is my 1st time training a puppy! After 2 months I didn't feel like we made any progress and I understand training comes slow and steady not fast. But I broke down and now in addition to working with me she also works with a dog trainer 3 days a week. Your videos are a blessing finally kind and informative puppy training videos! Here's praying I can be a good teacher for my puppy 🙏🐾💝
you're absolutely the best teacher out there! just got mine baby girl rottie, she is adorable, i'm learning so much from you! and we both already have such amazing results! i would trust you to raise my dogs, my children, just anybody! ❤
This video is so SO helpful! I was starting to believe my ~2/2,5 month mix bred puppy is being aggresive, cuz he can start biting my hands (really hard), pant legs and growling at me out of nowhere, but I just started to treat that behaviour like asking for some play time and just after the first time it's been a lot better! It's been only a week that we have this little sharky boi and I still learn about him and how to properly deal with his tantrums and day-to-day behaviour
Hi Zak, I recently got my first puppy ever! Her name is Toffee, and she’s a 13 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She has… SO much energy, and she was so nippy! I followed the instructions in this video for about a WEEK and already she rarely nips at anyone in the house now, if ever. My family is amazed with how much I’ve been able to train her, and every time, I tell them I’m just using your information and your book to guide me. I had no knowledge of how to train a puppy prior to this, and frankly, I didn’t have any up until the day I got her. I have gotten her to sit, lay down, roll over, stay, and play fetch, all using your videos and book, and toffee is incredibly agile- something I never expected from a corgi! Thank you so much for making me see the bright side to puppy’s occasional misbehaviors. Toffee is so expressive and amazing, and you’re helping me harness that into something beautiful.
Hilarious!! 🤣. I love the down to earth narratives in between the scenes. Other dog trainers could learn so much from this ! Number 1 being ‘getting over themselves’ 🙄. Keep it up, it’s seriously good 😊
Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
Thanks for this! Glad to see a teething puppy since that's what we're dealing with. The other videos are great, but the dogs have been older and not as relevant to what I've been wanting to learn.
Inertia: "Dad! Please, please, please play with me!?!?!?!". Inertia is so wonderful. Being a good dog is so hard. And, I like that you pointed out that sometimes you need to train your puppy to be calm around other dogs. When we got one of our little dogs, he was fearful of other dogs (especially larger ones) and I focused so much on getting him to like other dogs that I made the mistake of not teaching him to ignore other dogs! Now he sees a dog and he wants to run up an play (which isn't appropriate to just run up to any old dog with an invitation to play--especially if you weigh 8 pounds). So now I'm having to go back and fix my mistake (we're working on it!!). So don't make my mistake. Teaching your dog to get along with other dogs is vitally important. But it's just as important to teach them that they can be calm around other dogs and not insist on visiting every dog they see.
Perfect timing.. my 9 week old Shih Tzu x Maltese mix doesn't even have all her puppy teeth yet and she just wants to chew on EVERYTHING. I've been doing the whole play with me instead, but the sit to reward with the toy is a great next step. Thank you!!
Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
I learned to call that kind of training “bite inhibition”. I had a problem with a former dog who was taught not to bite the old fashioned way and when he had a bad moment he hurt the nearest dog. I wasn’t going to make that mistake again. I did a good job on Jasper though it took ages as he got stronger and I had to keep starting again but it didn’t work with Marzieh because the first time I squeaked as she was biting me, she never bit me again. Inertia knows what to do about puppies. She is brilliant!
When my puppy was young, he looked like Biscuits. Now I found out he is an American DINGO! Yes, Inertia is so pretty. Wish she was my dog. My dog is more stubborn than a wild lion LOL
Zak, Another perfect video to help train me! Oh how I wished I had a Gremlin! No, I rescued a 2.9 lbs Tasmanian Chihuahua Devil who I am convinced thinks biting me is her biggest life joy🤣 Petco here we come and new food mat I will be ordering ASAP! Angel (Yes, that is the She Devil's name) & I watch your videos together a few times hoping Biscuit will teach her new manners! Look forward to the next video 🐾💞
Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
Great video I remember going through this stage. I like how u put all your affiliate adds in to your videos and they seem to run so smoothly. Thats good editing and planning.
Ngl I was watching your last video on biscuit and now you made another one! What a timing! Love your videos their gonna help me when I get my gsd puppy❤️
Really need this today. My just 4 month old lab still likes to bite more than I'd like. Tired biting, hyper biting, bored biting....some things work, some don't and he needs a times out. ; (
Same! Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 the biting comes off as just mean & it sucks being constantly bit SUCKS! I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am.
@@SamanthaTwist yes my small beef is with time constraints they always have dogs pretty trained already. Even the biting withBiscuit I didn’t really learn what to do. I do distraction but sometimes he just needs a time out.
Stumbled across your channel today, must say that it’s very engaging content that you have. I’ve never had a puppy or a pet, never grew up around animals and pets, but for a long time I ‘ve been considering getting a puppy. I’ve already learned so much from your series with Biscuits, she is such a sweet little pup. It’s a pleasant learning experience for me too, seeing how Inertia interacts with Biscuits too.
When our puppy was presented with a treat Matt she grabbed a corner and gave it a quick shake, all the treats went flying and she gobbled them up quick. Whole ordeal lasted about 15 seconds. 🤣
Good reminder advice. 3mth border collie. Previous dogs didn't mouth like this. Bought the book. Been following the advice. Bit of relief hearing others mention shark if I'm honest. Distract distract but when those eyes do their thing I know I've missed the previous signals. Tired pup. Fine line between exercise for age/growth spurt. No pup training her - small rural town in New Zealand, plus not had last parvo jab. Thanks Zak, Bree and others in same boat. (boat - shark lol)
Thank you for helping regain my confidence in my (so far pretty successful!) training of a lovely 8 month ish pitbull puppy we recently rescued from a horrible situation. She never got a chance to be a puppy-puppy and we are trying to make up for it! Our pup only nips and paws hard at us when excited, and varies from gentle to rough very randomly. She is also reactive and has some anxiety I believe. These videos have been so helpful, words cannot express it enough! You guys are amazing.
My golden was a baby piranha and I have to admit I laughed at this because I remember the days of living with an adorable landshark. I miss her being a baby but I don't miss the razor teeth!
Hey Zak! I just wanted to say thank you for your great videos! It’s really helping me to raise my almost 3 months puppy. I found her temperament really close to the Biscuit’s, so I watch these videos with so much joy. Also, your dog Inertia is just adorable! I hope my puppy Halushka(that’s her name) will take as an example of a young beautiful lady 😍 Wish you and your wife an amazing day!
Hello beautiful people Zak and Bree.. thank you..such a fun video to watch..yes I remember when my dog was in that stage of biting and chewing everything...I didn't think it would end..but it did. Xx
I followed your advice for my dog when she was a pup. My dog is 2 years old now and biting is 100% under control. I like the soft bite method. Sometimes I still let her bite while playing but it’s never too much. I found it more useful teaching her how to bite, rather than teaching her not to bite.
Thank you this is so reassuring Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
I needed this. We have a 16 week old Turkish Boz Shepherd with the teeth and power of a TRex! I’ve really been discouraged. She weighs over 50 lbs. I’ve been training her with your videos but still so much work to do! I’m going to look into the puppy classes again and see if there are some available.
Oh my gosh! She's mouthing just like my dog Penny 8 years ago when Penny was a puppy. I want to thank you so much for your videos and all the information you shared. I really appreciated it. You were right. Penny did eventually grow out of it. But it was so tough in the moment.
Great videography, with the clip of Biscuit through the glass of champagne, Bree! That would be a perfect image for anyone in celebration of bringing a new pup into their home.
Wow love seeing how big inertia is now and how tamed she is compared to when you first got her. I got a dog when you got inertia. But at the time I had to give her away because I couldn’t look after her. But I’m looking and getting a dog again soon because my personal situation has changed and it’s just so cool to see how well trained inertia is only a few years down the line :)!
Amazing series! Followed your advice for the 1st time 7yrs ago when I got my 1st dog. Told myself I will never get a puppy again, and here I am, adopted another pup. I do have a question, how do you control new puppy around your older dog, ie not stealing their toys, food, or jumping all over requesting attention on them when you are petting or paying attention to an older dog? Thank you!
We have a 1 year old Brittany who was such a biter! As far as biting humans, we were pretty successful at getting her to use a softer mouth and as she got older did the loud "ouch" which made her stop biting humans almost completely. She has always been a aggressive, chewer however she always preferred her toys to furniture etc. She can chew through every single toy we've tried. Even the black Kongs are no match. We've found getting a rope toy every once in a while to let her shred is a special treat but otherwise stick to bones and antlers.
OMG, this is our 8-week old Australian Shepherd mix right now. She even has that same growl. Puppy teeth are no joke when it comes to being sharp. Thankfully, our puppy hasn't had any interest in chewing on the furniture...yet. You've got a new subscriber.
Yes!!! I feel so good (and happy 😜) that this happens to THE Zak George as well 😂😂 I’ve a beagle who has chewed up the house because he would want constant attention AFTER spending hours playing and running around the garden already (he’s a sweetheart now but his puphood was too energetic)! A puppy is exhausting!! (Ultimately 1 year in we got a puppy for my dog and that worked wonders 😂😂😂)
I personally find that the fastest, most effective method is to wait until they bite and then just absolutely SCREAM in agony dramatically and flail and then run out of the room and leave them isolated for 15-30 minutes. It's not the most charismatic method but they quickly associate the constant nipping with not getting the attention they want. Puppies learn surprisingly fast with negative stimuli for things that positive reinforcement can't address.
I have a mixed Golden Retriever and Spitz and I'm teaching him leave it. He's also teething and I can totally relate to Zak's injuries with Biscuits😂 this series helps me with my patience. My dog thinks I'm Father Christmas who brings him food all the time😩😂
Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
Omg!!! THANK YOU! Although I tried already everything, it comes at ease that my dog is not the only one that does this. He is also an adopted dog that is now 4 months old and he looks similar to Biscuits. What you have on your hand is 1% of how my hands look like. He just simply ignores any toy or bone or everything, sometimes he just wants to bite human flesh…. It is a struggle that comes with a lot of pain and frustration 😖 At least this video encourages me to keep going with the method or adjust it a little.
Same! Being bit SUCKS!! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
My corgi/aussie/heeler mix but my daughter's hand today as a result of a resource guarding and her trying to take a sock out of his mouth. He is 15 months old and after 3 trainers, I'm not sure what to do anymore. He's a great dog 95% of the time and we adore him, but I need to figure out this particular issue. Zak, I've been watching you since we got him at 8 weeks old. I appreciate your videos and look forward to your next one, about resource guarding.
This video came in clutch! My 10 week Boston puppy keeps biting me nonstop like biscuits! And it hurts!!! I too get on top of the couch like the lady in the video to avoid Bruno (my puppy) ugh 😅

I recently got a maltipoo (almost 8 weeks old) and he really loves biting so Im glad you made a guide for this I follow all the things you do 1 episode a day thank you
I feel like I thought when watching this so much that oh I’ve seen him do it so many times it will be so easy for me but then when I actually got into it it did not work out that way as you can see in my videos ahahaha
That's interesting you let her bite you softly. I've heard people/trainers say to not let a dog use your fingers as chew toys at all. The biting is so frustrating. I've had my puppy for about 5 weeks and we've made progress but he still gets in his biting mood every night and it hurts!
I followed this advice, and it has helped a lot! We're still working on it, but my puppy's biting is becoming more and more gentle. That's how they play with siblings/other dogs, so it can be really good for them!

Inertia is such a good big sister...even when Biscuits is diving at her face, teeth first. I am so impressed.

My dog barks at my puppy by doing this
Me too our dog learned how to play nicely with the new pup recently too
Poor Inertia!

I was hoping my 12 wk lab stopped but at 16 wks, still does. Not as much but still more than I'd like.
@@troywinslow4756 Yea mine chews on my pants, feet, arms and Hand. He's smart just need him to relax lol I have so many scratches on my hand.
Same with my 3 month Pomeranian puppy & it’s driving me crazy
@@SamanthaTwist we’re you able to correct the biting? I’ve had my puppy a week and it’s hard :(
Stumbled across your channel today, must say that it’s very engaging content that you have.
Same 😂😂😂
Good reminder advice.
Inertia in 7:03 looking at the camera like "you are just gonna allow this?"
😂😂😂
Xx
She is the cutest. 😍
I love these episodes
I followed your advice for my dog when she was a pup. My dog is 2 years old now and biting is 100% under control. I like the soft bite method. Sometimes I still let her bite while playing but it’s never too much. I found it more useful teaching her how to bite, rather than teaching her not to bite.
Thank you this is so reassuring
Same! I have a new Pomeranian pup I’m trying to train but my videos aren’t quite as successful as Zak’s even if I watch & memorize them 🙃😂 I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
Wow! You're a breath of fresh knowledge! So glad I found you, learning ALOT!
Yes, let the dogs get what they want while teaching them what you want! I learned recently that our thoughts and eyes can say a lot. Awesome, watch!
the hook at the end
Thank you!
Ahahaha I’m in the puppy stage rn and telling myself that too
We have a 1 year old Brittany who was such a biter! We've found getting a rope toy every once in a while to let her shred is a special treat but otherwise stick to bones and antlers.
thank you for this! God loves yall!
Henry my 9 week old cocker spaniel is very Biscuits at the minute! Watching and learning thank you! 🇬🇧
I love your channel zak.
My Beagle pup had teeth like razors. She used to bite my hands, and my feet as I walked. Glad to say she outgrew this stage and is never destructive.
I just watched a dog agility training video and subscribed... This video may be super helpful for my crazy dog. Thank you.
OMG, this is our 8-week old Australian Shepherd mix right now. She even has that same growl. Puppy teeth are no joke when it comes to being sharp. Thankfully, our puppy hasn't had any interest in chewing on the furniture...yet. You've got a new subscriber.
Zak goes to a friend's get together and trains their dog 😄
Biscuits biting the bottom of the couch is very cute . Luckily no one sees the damage there . 😄
😂
Biscuits reminds me of a friends Parson Russel terrier with her high energy and sweet face. I'm throwing terrier in the guess what breed lots.
Hey Zack biscuits is like what's this thing toes toes are gone human wahhahhahahahah love the videos Zack
Though we be small, we be mighty ... I love Biscuits!!
I love this content!
Zack all of your videos are fire
I rather enjoyed this laid back sort of episode. Fun!
SAME! My new pup has all these problems and I’m losing my mind so this is coming at the perfect time
I personally find that the fastest, most effective method is to wait until they bite and then just absolutely SCREAM in agony dramatically and flail and then run out of the room and leave them isolated for 15-30 minutes. It's not the most charismatic method but they quickly associate the constant nipping with not getting the attention they want. Puppies learn surprisingly fast with negative stimuli for things that positive reinforcement can't address.
She is so cute!!!!
Why exactly do you only foster for 2-3 weeks at a time? Is that just how long it takes to find someone or do you set a time limit?
Thanks for the help!
We have a snuggle mat for our pooch. She gets it at night to settle down before bedtime
I got the one he shows but am bumping it up with a new one next week with more things on it. I'll use both though. I liked the free bag of treats too
Omg!!!
I would love to see you train a rescue doberman one day...
Puppies = extra champagne needed :D
My 9 week old girl is at this phase right now 🥲 and whats worse is, shes half blue heeler haha. This video is giving me peace of mind.
MINE TOO, mine is a blue heeler chihuahua mix. And shes a biter i tell you😂😂
This is awesome! We also have some single ingredient chews that your dog will love!
Hahaha … Biscuit hanging off your sock & Inertia looks at you like “Dude, dad … you gonna let it do that!?” 🤣
This video came in clutch! My 10 week Boston puppy keeps biting me nonstop like biscuits! And it hurts!!! I too get on top of the couch like the lady in the video to avoid Bruno (my puppy) ugh 😅
Same! Being bit SUCKS!! I have a new Pomeranian pup I'm trying to train but my videos aren't quite as successful as Zak's even if I watch & memorize them 😵💫😅I appreciate though that in this one he is dealing with a lot of the same issues I am
Bree's gasping when biscuits bites !!!!
That was priceless
Gremlin mode 🤣🤣 I’m going to use that next time
00:36 I love your new Roomba
You look good in navy. I never realized how blue your eyes are.
Very helpful, thank you. I’m going to try this with my 12 week old cocker spaniel puppy 🐶 She’s often in Gremlin mode 😮
I recently got a maltipoo (almost 8 weeks old) and he really loves biting so Im glad you made a guide for this I follow all the things you do 1 episode a day thank you
Who else would love to see Bri take on the next puppy training series 🖐
YES
Inertia and Biscuits are so cute! 😍🥰😊
Or should I say: all the pets are cute! 😍
Aww how big did inersha get bless her xx
Thanks
