The dog will go by your energy. Are you a 'leader' type personality or a 'follower' type personality? If you have a strong assertive energy you can stop the unwanted behavior. If you show or have any sign of weakness or fear, that dog will and can pick up on that energy. You also have to understand your dog's bite. Is it a playful bite or more agressive/insecure/unsure bite? If the dog has a playful bite you have to teach the dog when and what type of biting is appropriate, e.g. playing with the dog you can allow your dog to 'bite' but you need to also know and understand the pressure of the bite. Having pull ropes with a ball attached is a good game of playful biting. Never use your hands unless you know what you are doing. I have learned that one myself and through that, it taught me the different pressure bites in play. I hope you understand what I am trying to say here. If the dog is trying to bite you when you are not paying the dog attention and he or she wants to play, you have to let them know, that now is not the right time just by either a word or a sound and your energy will let the dog know, that that is not the behavior you want at that time. When you iniciate the play and show the dog attention when you are ready, again the dog will pick up on your energy and think oh now daddy wants to play with me. Hope you get it sorted.

This somehow doesn't work for my dog. When I touch his side, he just continues to be excited. And If I'm too firm, then he can get aggressive. Any ideas?
Keep in mind that Cesar is currently being sued after his Pitbull Junior killed Queen Latifah's dog and mauled a teenage girl. You may not want to take advice about dog training from him.
what always worked when I was in Norway working with huskies, if the dogs biting is to hold their mouth closed, not rough or to the point of pain but just to cause discomfort and when they start whining continue to hold it for around 10 seconds after, and while initially it sounds bad to some, none of the 47 dogs there at the time and before had ever bitten any of the guests in the 12 years its been open.
@@jennamercury7625 And the teenage girl he mauled? Was it the kids fault as well? Pitbulls should be banned everywhere and Cesar knows as much about dog training as he does about staying faithful to people he's married to.
Thank you for helping me see I’m training my pup the right way. It’s a lot of work, and being so tired with a large puppy, it’s easy to get discouraged from just being consistent with the pup. Over and over, but the results are starting to show. Thanks again, Sir.
What's bad is, the human who cannot teach/train the dog to have boundaries/rules/limitations. Then the dog misbehaves and the human blames the dog and the breed. That's why pitbulls have a bad name.
It is shocking so many people have no clue what they are doing with their Dogs I see it daily walking my Dog I see people being dragged by their Dog and rewarding bad behavior because they are just so clueless Cesar has helped so many people over the years it’s amazing how much he has online for free basically and people just don’t even look anything up they just stumble through life being dragged by their dogs bit by their dogs having their food taken by their dogs
I saw someone being dragged by a several month old Dobie pup down the sidewalk today - I called to her, "Why don't you lose the harness and get a martingale collar?" I explained that using a harness connected on top of the dog was like the pup was pulling a sled! She claimed the dog is fine and it was because she was wearing slippers and sliding along the sidewalk. Geez give me a break.
I’m so disappointed that she said “otherwise there’s no option other than giving him away”. There is always an option, it’s called investing in training your dog and socialising them correctly. Terrible thing to say!
When my daughter bought a Rottweiler, she had to sign a contract. Spaying the Rottweiler 1st. On the list. Obedience training, and making sure she can would be part of our family. She was a great dog. After she was Spayed, the breeder reimbursed the fee.
When I got my puppy she was super crazy and I wasen't expecting that. Then I found Cesar and started training her with this trick. I never saw a calmer dog than her. TYSM!!!!
People need to research the breed thoroughly before getting a puppy. And be brutally honest about your family and lifestyle before buying or rescuing. You need to be a good fit. There are really no bad dogs, use bad owners and behaviours. We spent almost 10 months going to the German Shepherd Association and learning about the breed, meeting the breeders and picking up training tips before agreeing to get a pup and being accepted by a breeder. My daughter loves them. We have had a working dog before but not this breed so we are learning every day with him. Of course we make mistakes but at training, he is possible the best behaved there due to just how much time my daughter spends with him, training him and bonding with him.
@Pro Justice you're wrong. People should inform themselvs before getting a puppy home. You can't wait for vizsla to be 5 months old to ask for help! That dog is stronger then avarage adult female and this woman most probably can't take him to a walk, jumping and biting aside.
I have a 6-month-old American Pitbull Terrier, Blue Fawn, white and tan markings, very beautiful. She listens when I command her to wait for her food, sits and when I tell her to stop for the most part. This is still a work in progress though. I will be honest, she is very strong and difficult to walk. We try to walk her daily. She is my 3rd pitbull terrier and I am retired. I have an 11 year-old female, and we just put down our 10-year old male due to cancer. I wondered if I am expecting too much from her being this young, but I will keep working with her every day. Long time fan.
In school i had to do a project on the pets in Cuba and i couldn't find anyone famous from cuba who worked with animals at all, so i just did that section of my assignment on Ceasar milan instead, lol. He's led a very interesting life! Thanks for the vids Ceasar :)
I have the biting issue with my Husky puppy. I am in control and learning how to teach him to obey me but the problem is do dogs learn obey others as well and behave around others when you are not there ????
Our newly adopted Husky/German sheperd has exactly the same issue. My wife had a few biting marks from her and almost had a mental breakdown. Last night we finally made a hard decision to return her to the shelter. As a last-ditch attempt, we looked for the solutions and came across your video by luck. What a godsend!! I tried your approach this morning and it worked like a charm. She is incredibly smart and she gets it right away. The problem is never the dog; the key is how to find the effective way of communication so your dog knows its place and knows the boundary of what it can do vs. cannot. Now her demeanor totally changed! We couldn't believe this was the same dog. Now we will most likely keep her. And I cannot thank you enough Cesar!

The Grandma seems to have some unrealistic expectations. Although, I fully understand her concerns regarding the children.

Yes, but people will never simply do that, I imagine they'd just get a smaller dog and the dog would be terrible because of them but it wouldn't be able to cause the same amount of damage and while that isn't a good thing it's still better than this.

Her extensive research likely involved cute pictures and general grooming.

@@liisa2077 old school works. you can be your dogs alpha without them fearing you, they simply understand that you are their leader and provider. Moreover, being your dogs alpha or leader also involves trust, as the dog has to trust you will provide and take of them. If you observe dogs playing socially you can literally see them looking for their place in the hierarchy. I'm not saying new information isn't valuable but completely dismissing the alpha theory as complete bs is nonsense lol
@@user-gp8rg6yg2c yeah but this alpha theory is old and untrue. Dog doesn't want to dominate. What would be the purpose of that. what always worked when I was in Norway working with huskies, if the dogs biting is to hold their mouth closed, not rough or to the point of pain but just to cause discomfort and when they start whining continue to hold it for around 10 seconds after, and while initially it sounds bad to some, none of the 47 dogs there at the time and before had ever bitten any of the guests in the 12 years its been open.

Thank you for helping me see I’m training my pup the right way. It’s a lot of work, and being so tired with a large puppy, it’s easy to get discouraged from just being consistent with the pup. Over and over, but the results are starting to show. Thanks again, Sir.

Cesar who tells it like it is: That's bad.
That’s right they’re babies but don’t treat them like babies
What's bad is, the human who cannot teach/train the dog to have boundaries/rules/limitations. Then the dog misbehaves and the human blames the dog and the breed. That's why pitbulls have a bad name.
Likewise, I treat my puppy as if he were a human baby. I need to practice being assertive. Thank goodness for dog trainers. 😇

It is shocking so many people have no clue what they are doing with their Dogs
I see it daily walking my Dog I see people being dragged by their Dog and rewarding bad behavior because they are just so clueless
Cesar has helped so many people over the years it’s amazing how much he has online for free basically and people just don’t even look anything up they just stumble through life being dragged by their dogs bit by their dogs having their food taken by their dogs
True that!
So true. I've had dogs all my life and have seen how they love you even more when you set rules and boundaries. They need that guidance.
So many people have kids and dogs who really shouldn't have kids or dogs. They just don't understand the responsibilities and commitment needed
And then blame their dogs for the bad behavior
I’m so disappointed that she said “otherwise there’s no option other than giving him away”. There is always an option, it’s called investing in training your dog and socialising them correctly. Terrible thing to say!
I know 😏 how irresponsible t give someone else the nightmare that they created. Better humans better planet ha 😅
People want a dog that does everything right without any training bc they are lazy. And if not, they just put him away.
Yea that woman is a mess... and playing victim card.. i hate this kind of ppl
She needed to talk to the breeder for help at the first instance of not being able to train
When my daughter bought a Rottweiler, she had to sign a contract. Spaying the Rottweiler 1st. On the list. Obedience training, and making sure she can would be part of our family. She was a great dog. After she was Spayed, the breeder reimbursed the fee.
Lot of knowledge 🔥🔥
The dog was trying to bite them and they were rewarding it by rubbing it😂
Seems like they are the type of people who just buy a dog because "they soooo cuuute"

this happens so often. people are in way over their heads then the dog ends up being alienated from the family and kept outside all day 🙄
@Pro Justice nope, tired of giving “new” owners slack who just leave their dog outside and neglect them.
That or disowned ...
@Pro Justice Lol okay. Dunno why you’re so pressed

If you watch Caesar's videos you should understand that your dog doesn't need the training. You need to train yourself to be the alpha, and earn his respect.

It sounds like they researched the breed but not the energy or excitement levels or how to train the breed as a pup! Although they felt bad about it, putting the puppy outside away from family contact is cruel in my opinion.
