Well greetings, hello and welcome back!
If you can believe it we're already starting to get some public transit rolling in the city! We start off with just a few bus routes throughout and I go over the different ways you can make your routes. I hope this all makes sense by the end of the episode :)
As an added bonus we build a mini transit hub that has a TON of potential for some upgrades! Hopefully it inspires you to build one of your own!
We're using some mods to help us out, but definitely not pivotal to have any mods running for making the bus routes or understanding how they work well together!
MODS MENTIONED:
Vanilla + Roads - steamcommunity...
Move It Mod - steamcommunity...
Prop Line Tool - steamcommunity...
Improved Public Transit 2 - steamcommunity...
Traffic Manager - steamcommunity...
Surface Painter - steamcommunity...
Find It - steamcommunity...
Prop & Tree Anarchy - steamcommunity...
Parks and Plazas by Avanya - steamcommunity...
RYDE by BlueThunder - steamcommunity...
BEEP BEEP I'm a bus!!
Hope you found this helpful!!
I wanted to get this episode out a bit sooner, but you know how it is with time! I won't bail on you guys, we'll keep this one going :)
Thank you!
I thought you were a taxi bruh? now I'm confused
i consider busses a hold over untill i can get something that actually moves people from the streets and does not give them more options to clog them up.
used the bus hub design, and i'm in love with how well it works. hated doing buses before...now i don't mind as much. so much better than a bus hub building!
Wow
Great episode! Anyone noticed the sick 360 the truck made at 10:17 ?
Love the homegrown bus terminal...Looks wonderful and is efficient for this city's size. I know it will diminish the landscaping but I thought to drop a metro station in place of the large tree. It's central to the terminal and an easily expandable beginning with a shuttle over to the industrial area. As the city grows you can turn it into a loop.
This is turning out to be a really cool series that bridges from beginner to more advanced levels. Thanks so much!
best bus transportation guide i've ever seen, thanks!
Always a good reminder, tram tracks are also fully functional pedestrian paths.
I'm fairly new and sometimes need a smidgeon more explanation of how things work than just point-click-done with explanation. For us newbies, please consider doing an in-between video to show and tell how to set up a bus route from start to finish. To be honest, there were times in-between that I felt a bit lost, like "what? how did he get there?" as you went fast. You're such a fantastic explainer and teacher and I understand the game more after your videos! So thanks!
City is coming along very well so far but just a suggestion: space out or remove traffic lights on the main street 🤔
Here, here! Doesn't this cause traffic problems when the lights are so close together?
Bus route tutorial starts 19:20 into this 27 minute video for everyone looking to learn.
I think my biggest problem in CS is that I've never been good at properly using Public Transport and Progressive Zoning, so I always end up majorly traffic locked. That bus terminal thingy is gonna be a major help for me
Love the episode, Keep up with the good work :) Ive recently had the rona about 2 weeks ago and now negative , been watching your videos, nice to see you back
XD60 is a 60ft articulated (bendy) bus. XD40 is a 40 ft non-articulated bus.
IJ, I am really enjoying seeing you back with CS. Thank you for the inspirations.
i love the custom bus hub! never even thought about doing that! thanks!
I love these kinds of "homemade" bus stations. I think they flow better than the in game assets. Looking nice :)
Great looking city Jedi. In your next episode, please change the bridge going over the highway to the 6lane so that it will get rid of the crosswalks that have spawned in middle over highway.
Those shops next to the roundabout were begging for a power connection!!
Great series so far.
Very much enjoy your style and I find your attitude to building and your city style matches my own aspirations, so I will definitely be watching the full series.
I’ve managed to get to 30k before but struggle with the bigger picture and seeing the overall plan. I am hoping that this series will take me from an intermediate to a more advanced player 👍
Thank you for explaining the Death Waves so well, best explanation I've heard yet.
Thankyou. I had no idea you could put stuff in a park zone using a tram track. I am playing on a ps4. This will make my city look real great. You are aware that the generic forestry and farm industry zones have no pollution and it makes a bit of money on the side. And with the staggering of the buses did you think of that. If so great idea will be using that one as well
Thanks for another one!!
this was excellent and helpful!
This was so awesome!!!! Please post videos more often!
There's just something about mass transit that is soooooo satisfying both to set up yourself and to watch be installed by someone who has such a disturbingly deep understanding of *exactly* how it works.
1:06 Petro-Canada station??? Did you plop that, or was it growable in some theme or something?
Been playing in and off for years now. Your videos teach me new things every time!
In your next video do you think you can put a still image at the end with all of the mods and assets you use? I play pretty vanilla but getting some unique roads and other things would help greatly.
Thank you very much for the mod list ... AND another cool video!!! Hope this city runs really long :)
really enjoying this!
Amazing. Some time aggo i picked up this game for free i think after your video's i will finaly give it a try.
Thanks for the entertainment :-)
If I ever get bank into cities I will definitely reference these bus tips and drop off design.
Great vid, awesome tips, but for the love shade, why can't you put some shade trees around your transit plaza?
i fill in the empty spaces between the buildings with trees or i use a dirt access road and try to squeeze a few small parks in there
Can't afford a bus depot, builds all the infrastructure while waiting to make money for a bus depot, wastes a bunch of money placing plazas deminstrating tram tracks, still doesn't try to put down a bus depot...
2nd? I never use the bus because I am a tram snob. Good to learn these though!
Trams are awesome! I really like using them and I almost use them every time I do a build :)
I also want to sneak in a trolley bus line or two!
This is the 2nd or 3rd video I'm watching trying to see how to start using buses. 17 minutes in so far and still nothing except building a park and decorations. Couldn't you have done that in a different video - how to make parks for example. Or put a timeline in the description perhaps where it starts. Sorry, not complaining, just making an observation. :) If anyone else, like me, is looking for the busses part - 18:09 is the time stamp to be! :) Anyway time moves on and having watched the rest now, thank you. Well explained - by the time you got round to the nitty gritty lol.
There is a mod to automatically apply different colors to public transport routes so you can easily distinguish them.
do we have the realistic lifecycle population mod? could help with the dead wave avoidance thingy.
Technically 1st and amazing video
Where are the fires? I don't see any fires! This Jedi is an imposter, obviously. ;)
Its been smooth sailing so far!! Lol
rip that person 1:08
How often are you posting new episodes?
Trying to get at least a couple out per week, but gonna work on getting a set schedule soon!
I can never figure out how to stop the death waves. It seems like the largers my cities get the worse they get. Even tho I try to build my housing at different times...
3rd-ish hopefully there is a hat store in this one...
Only of the most EXCELLENT quality that our customers come to expect right? And where is this located again?
@@ImperialJedi It is located off the second exit of the Biffa Memorial Roundabout. Come on in anytime. You just may never leave...
I will oay attention of lining up
Wtf was that park thing around 12 min
Btw no busses yet
Ola, j'ai maté toutes les vidéos potables sur Yt pour les bus, je ne trouve personne qui parle des bénéfices des transports en commun, des bus ..
As someone new to the game should I add mods slowly or just add them all at once ?
That's honestly a tough question.
A lot of the mods just basically add quality of life and increase the speed at which you can do things, they also help you gently bend the rules and restrictions when placing and manipulating things. You can use mods to make the game look and play drastically different.
So I'd say if you have enough hours in the game where you get the basics but are ready to start tackling more complicated projects then maybe pile on a few at a time and see where it takes you.
BUT if you're looking to take it slow, start with some basic ones like the Move It Mod, Traffic Present, Fine Road Tools, Fine Road Anarchy, Prop Line Tool, Find It, Network Multitool and learn those a bit before proceeding.
Feel free to pop into one of the livestreams for any help or clarification - I have a hard time sometimes keeping up with the comments over here on UA-cam :)
Happy building!
Top 10 yeah!!!
My man!!
Loving the new build :-) hope it grows to be a good size series!
How do you edit bus stop ticket passenger and all which mod do you use please reply
Heyo! I don't know if the mod is still working since the last major update - but I was using Improved Public Transport 2 steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928128676
that’s no park
Why does this include park building? I came here for buses, not saying it was bad though
I'm trying for a tutorial styled let's play - so building the city as well as trying to tackle some helpful topics.
I will be making some spin off stand alone videos that will be more in depth :)
@@ImperialJedi oh got it thanks
