How can I open a bank account in El Salvador from the United States?
You need your residency card, passport, and tax ID number (NIT). If you don't have Spanish, you'll want to bring an interpreter. You'll ask for an account and proceed to deal with a whole lot of bureaucracy and red tape. If you're lucky you'll get it quickly, otherwise you'll need a few trips to the bank.
It's much simpler and easier to manage your economic life on Bitcoin. We have a bank account here but we don't use it.
Thanks here are rolling out Bitcoin interoperable though, should make things easier.

Wow he’s absolutely on the money when it comes to finding a place. My wife and I got lucky because the place we bought didn’t even have a sign posted. We were told by a gardener that it was for sale and we got it below market price.

Guys this is amazing! As a native Salvadorian living abroad for over 42 years; I am counting the days, the months, the years until I am able to retire and move back to El Salvador. The country has become the Land of opportunity. Sort of like “Wild West Gold Rush”. Please keep up the good work!

I made the move in 2015 from Florida. I don't ever regret having done it. I wanted to be part of this country's positive change and I'm sooooo glad I did it. I am so happy you guys have also decided to do it. And I am here to support in any way I can, if you ever need it.

I believe that the vast majority of Salvadorans abroad do not know where the BTC ATMs are or how to buy bitcoin to send remittances and I think that is one of the reasons why the BTC is not circulating even more
It's true, there's a long road ahead here, but every inch is progress
4 millions of 6.5 millions of salvadorans living in the country downloaded the Chivo Wallets already and thousands more know or have other wallets. Maybe you're right about remittances, but that's lack of financial information or infrastructure in the countries that the 3 millions of salvadorans they live aboard. The "problem" of the people in El Salvador could be of perception of what other people like you or me have on BTC, they started with the crypto as legal tender and not as a asset that can increase their wealth.

There is a business opportunity for someone to create a site for anyone to list their property for rent at a fee. Maybe at the beginning, it’ll require a drive around towns to offer the services and list the properties for the informal landlord who currently post the “ for rent” sign on the front of their property. Eventually, the gap will be closed, and more people will post their rental properties online.

There are already websites for that in El Salvador although they cater to higher end properties, you can also find them through real estate websites and agents. It's cheaper if you find the property on your own.
Really that’s is a great challenges to hear those people talking and giving a great opinions about El Salvador and promoted to other from different countries coming to build their own lives in El Salvador like this Canadian couple are doing. The only way what I can say is thank you very much.

That is awesome you can get a tourist visa & apply for temporary whilst in country. Had been looking at Mexico & besides the insolvency requirements you need to apply for temp/perm in your own country which is obviously a big pain. Thanks guys!
