GAME: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice
AUTHOR: Capcom
THUMBNAIL ARTIST: Spewpew - / spewpew yamiza.deviantart.com/ / spewpew
FAN ART OF THE DAY: Caithlyn - caithlyn.deviantart.com/
The story of Spirit of Justice is set roughly one year after its predecessor, Dual Destinies, and once again focuses on defense attorney Phoenix Wright and his two understudies Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes. While previous games in the series have been set in Los Angeles, California, Spirit of Justice sees Phoenix travel to the fictional kingdom of Khura'in, a deeply religious nation in the far east where the art of spirit channeling originates. Roughly half the game's episodes detail Phoenix's activities in Khura'in, while the other half follow Apollo and Athena, who are left to watch over the Wright Anything Agency in Phoenix's absence.
#SpiritOfJustice #PhoenixWright #AceAttorney - Ігри
And what happened, then? Well, in Khura'in they say
That Nico's mind was fucked thirty times that day
NicoB WORTH IT!!!
that sounds promising already

NicoB Now you know why Dhurke said that Maya was someplace safe.
ROTFLOL!
*Trucy:* Gee, Apollo, how come you get *two* dead dads?
*Apollo:* Capcom hates me.
Capcom: *thumbs up* ANGUISH APPROVED!!
I don't why Capcom like seeing Apollo suffer. He lost his best friend and lost Daddy Dhurke, realize his original boss was crazy, ect. Will Apollo ever catch a break.
Technically 3, Trucy’s father was sort of Apollo’s dad
Nebular not really
Don't worry, Apollo. Capcom also hates AA-fans.
*looks on nonexistent western releases DGS 1-2 and AAI2*
Today, June 2nd, 2018, Nico failed to predict a plot twist before the video it happens in. This moment shall go down in history.
Monobrobe SHOW ME ANGUISH
He didn’t even come close. As for the thought route, that’s still possible.
I'm proud of Spirit of Justice to be able to trip Nico like that. That's a good game. *pets SoJ*
CompleteBS I haven't watched this video yet, but I remember he did briefly consider something close to the final thought route in an earlier video. Good thing he didn't seem to follow through with it!
lolpho yeah, but he seems to have dropped that line of thinking. Going back through this, I’m surprised how much foreshadowing there is everywhere.
Hello and welcome to another episode of "Everyone Apollo Loves Dies"
*Builds a barricade around Trucy*
Ethan Cate
She's next.
*Builds a barricade and become a bodyguard for Lamiroir*
Apollo: I love you Mr. Wright!
Give the poor guy a hug already!
Daaww. We were all thinking Inga was a horrible person, but he really loved Rayfa and was nice to Maya. Maybe it was all an act and he is-
*shots Dhurke*
You know what? I hope he is suffering from his back pain for all eternity in the Twilight Realm.
The reason Apollo is the only one of Phoenix's friends/family not to be accused of murder is because he gets kicked in the balls by life enough as it is.
Also this is why this game is secretly the sequel to AJ:AA. Why d'you think it's called Spirit of JUSTICE?
...... *hid my fanfic idea where Apollo gets acussed of a murder that happend right infront of him* ...* leave quickly*
So that means Life hates Maya? Because most of Mayas family is dead and gone while being a murder suspect in every game shes been.
He actually has been accused of murder in one of the light novels (Turnabout Airport)
I don't know how canon the light novels are though
Apollo fans: They cannot make Apollo more miserable with each next AA entry.
Capcom: Hold my hamburgers.
And fill up your glass with grape juice
LuLz
Nexus427 Goddammit Capcom
Nexus427 Apollo: "Wait, who if my relatives is still alive? Trucy and my mother that I still dont fucking know, right?"
Trucy: "Polly, don't jinx this, I don't wanna die!"
Apollo: "Hey, it's not my fault that they kill of everything I hold dear"
JGLP
Next up is his girl friend he gets in the next game, and then a puppy he gets after that.
Welcome to Turnabout Tears.
*clap clap clap*
the thing is, i couldn't resist crying, but goddammit, nico got all confused and started to talk nonsense and i my tears wet off cuz that xD he totally forgot when amara is channeling him, she is not conscious at that time. The fact that she killed inga for vengeance and tried to frame Dhurke because he was already dead... i havent even finished to warch this and im already triggered smh
It’s been a good time since Nico has been mind fucked like this. It reminds of his reaction when he found out that Iris and Dahlia were Morgan’s daughter and Pearl’s sisters. That was a beautiful reaction.
LuizFelipe Porto This pleases me. I shall feast on everyone's suffering tonight.
Just wait till Nico reacts to the Kingdom hearts Union Cross cutscenes. The mindfucks will be glorious!!!
That will ALWAYS be my favorite moments of his
Nothing quite tops his reaction to the end of VLR.
I just wanna jump into the screen and hug Apollo...
If I had Koamada's bullshit powers then I'd do it right away.
Shuichi: I wish someone could hug me too!
Apollo and Shuichi both need hugs
I want a hug...
Apollo Justice come here I'll give you one Polly :'( *hugs*
This heart wrenching twist is definitely my favorite big reveal in the series. Right above Tarhust Inmee's big reveal and the Phantom's identity. Now, there is only problem:
Where's all the JUSTICE!?!?! I want JUSTICE, not INJUSTICE with Despair and Anguish on the side!!!
*proceeds to comfort Apollo*
DetectiveSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer YES! Feel the despair!
Monokuma:In despair we trust! PUHUHUHUHU!
Someone anyone *HUG THE POOR BOY!!!*
*The court of ANGUISH disagrees*
technically speaking, even the title itself was a spoiler, because the father of Apollo Justice had died, but his spirit shall never yield
and it hurts my heart typing that
Defense breakdowns:
*Phoenix:* Clutches head as he buries it in the bench
*Athena:* Eyes and Widget go blank and hugs herself
*Diego:* Crushes mug with one hand, cutting himself with the shards
*Apollo:* Smashes his face into the bench at full force
Apollo Justice is hardcore.
EDIT: I’m not talking about badassery here. Apollo deserves kudos for expressing his despair in what looks like an *extremely* painful manner. AKA Hardcore.
Hardcore ANGUISH!!
Sure, but is it more painful?
Monobrobe of course!
P2M Honestly I find Apollos face slam unintentionally funny. I think they would've been better just letting him hang his head like he did a moment later.
Head desk makes me think of well...head desk moments. Like those times when Larry screws up again.
Apollo pulled a Von Karma but he packed the force of 100 head slams in one big head slam
Rest in peace Dhurke. Your body may not move again, but your spirit will never yeld, instead will keep move forward.
Indeed. But a Anguish never yields
Let's hope he becomes a regular fixture in the series like Mia from this point on. :D
A dragon will never yield!
I hope he roams the skies of Twilight Realm on a glorious golden dragon
Nico, it's worth pointing out that Inga was bluffing on the phone, hoping Phoenix wouldn't know where Maya was. In the trial prep room when Inga phones, Dhurke tells him that he knows he can't touch Maya, literally. Inga, realizing the jig was up (and also a little surprised Dhurke was alive, but probably assuming Maya was channeling him) changes his threat to Dhurke's special someone. So there we go.
I feel like Maya could have just stopped channeling Dhurke for a second and tell Phoenix in secret what was going on to avoid all the orb business, but I guess that would make for a less compelling story, huh?
Maya was not self aware when channelling Dhurke, she didn't know she was being used as leverage
I thought she was training for so long so she COULD control the spirits she channels, but I might be misremembering.
Judging from trial 3 when she had to ask what happened after the priest's spirit left, that's not necessarily the case. But I feel like the series plays pretty fast and loose with how aware and in control the mediums are when channeling.
And considering Maya and Dhurke's characters, not to mention the nature of Dhurke's request, I feel like Maya would just step back and let Dhurke do what Dhurke do in the moment. If he felt like saying something, he could have, and if Maya was aware of his actions or environment, she would know that too.
So I don't think it's really a problem.
In any case Dhurke didn't know Maya was being used as leverage either, until deep in the trial. Just before Apollo figured the whole thing out and Dhurke told Inga he couldn't threaten Maya. So there was no need to risk the revolution by the risking the state of Dhurke at the time
Dual Destines: scary blood covered child Athena face = M rating
Spirit of Justice: someone shot on screen = T rating
I think there are some mixed messages here. Also, Dhurke’s death is so unexpected and sad! It hit me right smack in my feels!
EDIT: As for the asinine attorney DLC, some people say they aren’t really worth the price but I think they are funny enough to warrant you playing them. That and there are a couple things in them that I think you would enjoy personally. Overall I think you would like them, so even if you don’t do them in the LP itself, I recommend playing them on your own time.
AND THEY STILL DELIVER GREAT ANGUISH
Yeah, i thought the same thing lol. Seriously, wtf ESRB?
HOLD IT! Athena was a child in that scene.
Ace-Attorney-Fan 621 I guess a potential child murder is worst than a on screen death.
I guess it was just 'Comic Mischief'. XD
When you think about it though, the M rating helps make the player think that what's implied in Dual Destinies might actually be true. If it were T they'd go 'nah, they wouldn't do that in this game' but with the M the player might think 'huh, could this really have happened? Is this the reason for the M rating?'
I just realized that Apollo has lost someone every game:
Kristoph: While he betrayed Apollo rather than died, Apollo could still consider this as “losing him”
Clay: He died due to the fricken Phantom
Dhurke: he died a few days ago cause friggin Ingass
My boy Apollo can't catch a break
We all lose people in our lives. Apollo just has one almost every year.
Lamiroir: She will die in Ace Attorney 7
@@MrLuxyLux right after he finds out she's his mother
The man's own parents left him too
Nico, Since you're nearing the end, here are some suggestions for you when you play the DLC case:
1. Play the Asinine Attorney mini-cases first (they're each an hour long).
2. Someone else already suggested this (EDIT: It was AceAttorneyGod) but I'll say it again: You should get a friend to download the DLC case for you. The promo art for the case has a very important spoiler.
3. Said spoiler can be seen in the intro of the DLC case. Here is how to avoid it: When a pair of clock hands start moving, close your eyes for five seconds, or until the next time someone speaks.
for #3, Nico would still have to see it while editing, wouldn't he? Or am I just an idiot...
After he finishes filming the video, he will have already seen the spoiler in-game (when it's actually revealed after the intro) so it'll be okay.
I wish I could upvote multiple times so that Nico would see your post for sure. It's super important.
Yeah... I checked cause I was curious and holy shoot, is that a huge spoiler. I was surprised to see that huge of a spoiler in the opening (haven't seen promo art).
I'd be fine with him not playing Asinine Attorney honestly. This is already a pretty long LP and they're only decent.
First his Mentor turn out Evil
Then he loses his Best Friend
And now he loses his father to after he just returned
And people wonder why Apollo so pessimistic Capcom can't give him a break!!
Nyoka Shortt i Hope next game trucy is okay
Nyoka Shortt I believe Apollo's curse is the sole reason Lamiroir doesn't come back. If she comes back she's going to get murdered just like Misty Fey in T&T. She's going to get murdered *before* Trucy and Apollo can learn that she is their mother.
I can't wait until he gets a girlfriend, just to see what they will do.
It’s a hard knock life for Apollo...
FLTheAnimeGuy Mk. 9000 “Why can’t I have a normal life like everyone else?”
On a serious note this the scene of Apollo coming to the conclusion that Dhurke dead already, asking damn near begging anyone to prove his theory wrong, and him slamming his head into the table broke me. There were tear. I won't deny it. I love Apollo he my favorite character in the series. And I like Dhurke, he was a fun and great character. And I loved the relationships he has with Apollo. I like that Dhurke never forgot the promise he made to return for Apollo but he took so long that Apollo was justifiably a tad bitter. I like that Apollo didn't want to jump into calling Dhurke his father again, that there was tension and akwardness between them. With Dhurke trying to reconnect and learn more about his son but Apollo being well reluctant. I like that Dhurke slowly broke those wall Apollo put up and their family love shined through as Apollo accept him as his father again. Remember his childhood and what Dhruke means to him. I like that we Apollo was determined to help and save Dhurke after he reconnected with him. The small scene of them bonding. The scene of Dhurke saving Apollo from drowning making him remember that a similar thing happened in his childhood, and the lesson Dhruke taught him. How he realized how much Dhurke cared for him and will come back like he promise. I love Dhurke reminding Apollo during his case with Phoenix about what it means to stand as a lawyer. I just love these two relationships and character
And then what does Capcom do. They rip my bloody heart out with a guy wrench twist that Dhruke dead already. They make me watch Apollo for the first time break down at the bench, and actually try to deny the truth. Think about that for a sec Apollo Justice wanted to look away from the truth. The same guy that alway stand firm for justice even putting his Mentor in jail and standing against Athena. And you know what..... This made me realize how good this game was. This for me the most emotional impact game of the series and for that alone it's my favorite.
The only sad thing is that they used an Apollo sweating animation instead of having Apollo shed a single dramatic tear. If they did I doubt anyone would be able to look at the scene without crying.
And yea, the whole Dr Buff murder case was a *fantastic* set up for Apollo and Dhurke's relationship.
Back in Japanifornia, when they were calling Inga, Dhurke said that Inga couldn't lay a finger on Maya. "And I do mean that literally."
The "big truth" really was an emotional mindfuck.
Also, I really loved how Amara opened her eyes after realizing Dhurke truly loved her. Like she "opened her eyes" to see the truth.
Who else cried by just see the thumbnail despite already know what happen? Because i admit it.......i cried....
dinozero2 me 😭
I did, and it only got worse as we got closer to the reveal in the video.
I cried tears of anguish
dinozero2 legit the first time I shed real tears over Ace Attorney my god that was painful
Yeah, the same for me. Knowing that Dhurke was already dead, stung quite a bit. But seeing Apollo sweating and after the confirmation of Dhurke's death, made that new expression, it broke my heart in two. I was broken for the night. Poor Polly.
I'M NOT CRYING WHILE BEING EXTREMELY CONFUSED, YOU ARE! YOU'RE THE CRYING CONFUSED ONE! WAAAAAAHHH

Well yes
I am definitly confused
T&T: Nothing can match my level of feels
SoJ: Just watch me
Michelin Manny DD: Awww, at least I tried.
SoJ: hold my beer
I found that the feels in T&T were a lot more meaningful, but I can't deny how much Dhurke's death punches you in the gut.
Hold my grape juice and SHOW ME ANGUISH
Investigations 2 had some pretty deep feels too but man, SoJ puts both MI2 and T&T to shame. ;(
Y'know, maybe it's for the best that Apollo never finds out about his relation to Trucy and Thalassa.
Between his dad, Clay from the last game, and Dhurke, it seems like anyone he develops a strong emotional attachment to is doomed to die well before their time.
BassAckwards There goes the entire agency.
At least Athena can carry on the remains of Wright’s agency
Daddy Dhurke... Welp, poor Nico is gonna have a rough night.
SomniaSalis YES. SUFFER!! SHOW ME ANGUISH!!
What ‘s really sad is that this happens only 5 months after Dual Destinies.

He inherited Dhurke's spirit and determination.
Apollo really doesn't deserve this much pain.
J.R. Spradlin no no he doesn't
I dunno, Apollo being in pain is what raised his popularity in Japan. Seriously he became top 5 after Dual Destinies.
Cosplaythief what?
Dark the hero of light sorry I was responding to J.R. Spradlin and didn't specify.
And I mean, sure he didn't deserve it but I think the creator did it to boost Apollo's popularity. You know, fans love characters who suffer. XD
Cosplaythief ohhh Okay and I guess that's true it make them feel sorry for him
Well, there's only one entity that could've killed Inga now. It's Charley the Plant. He snuck on the plane, and for revenge for not taking care of him, he killed Inga and framed it on Dhurke.
FLTheAnimeGuy Mk. 9000 No, he killed Retinz in Chapter 4. This was proven because he was there at the office at the start of Chapter 5.
Apollo: Wait a minute...
*flashback*
Athena: Oh, maybe Dhurke ate the bullets?
*flashback*
Apollo: NOOOOO! Athena, you knew Dhurke was shot!?!
Athena: No way! he's the only one who could have taken them when you think about it.
Apollo: First my biological father, then my best friend, and now my foster father. Darn it, Capcom!
SUFFER! WHAT'S YOURS IS MINE!! #TEAMANGUISH
Don't worry Polly! At least you still have the will of JUSTICE inside you!
Picky Psychology Student
Next game she tries to frame him for the murder of Athena.
Capcom really has it in for Apollo.
Raymond Yongho They could have put him in MvC: Infinite, but NooooooOOO!
Alright Nico, explanation time!
1. Amara stated that she truly believed Dhurke tried to kill her. When he came to "rescue her" from Ga'ran, he had no evidence that he was innocent. She stated that she only believed him out of responsibility as a wife, but because he could not produce any actual proof, she willingly returned to Ga'ran. She then maintained her belief that Dhurke tried killed her. She went on to believe this for over a decade, so suddenly trusting him would be nigh-on-impossible in a realistic situation.
2. Dhurke stated during his discussion in prison that Ga'ran eventually caught up with him and Amara some time after the "rescue", and that was how Amara wound up back in the castle.
3. It is established that Spirit Mediums have no sense of what is going on while they are channeling. Maya had no recollection of what went on after channeling Tahrust, for example. Amara had no way of knowing that Dhurke willingly protected her, nor could she have heard a word of what he said to anybody after the channeling.
4. Recall that Amara/Nayna released Dhurke only minutes before being called to the stand. For all she knew, she was in trouble and Dhurke did nothing to protect her. More importantly, she was under nearly immediate questioning, meaning she had no time, and more important things to think about than whether or not her ex husband covered up her involvement. You, Nico, have the privilege of thinking about this for a few minutes, but in context of their world, Amara had mere moments to ready her Nayna disguise, then take the stand and defend herself.
5. Recall that Amara truly believed that Dhurke tried to assassinate her. This means that she took Garan's offer of protection seriously, and implicitly trusts her sister. Your statement of "oh, she is definitely evil," is purely meta-gaming, using outside knowledge and tropes to indirectly divulge the answer. LUNA WARNED YOU, DON'T BREAK KNOX'S 10 COMMANDMENTS!!!
6. Assuming that her whole story was an elaborate lie, she probably was more focused on maintaining that lie than thinking about how much her abuser loved her.
7. Nobody could bank on the idea that Dhurke had proof of Amara's being alive. If he had been captured, and tried to use that statement, then there should have been no evidence to fall back on. He was arrested, so there was no way he could go look for evidence, and the only picture of Amara was in INGA'S room, and that investigatoin was done with Rayfa, on a whim. There should have been no way for Amara to get caught, even if Dhurke gave her up. It even makes sense for her to think that Dhurke had exposed her when Ga'ran told her she was taking the stand, since few people knew of her existence otherwise.
Hopefully this clears some things up.
Amara is still an accomplice to a murder.
+Vitor Lehmkuhl
I am aware. I am not trying to defend her in any way with regards to the case, but NIco seems painfully confused as to how she went this entire case, let alone the last several years, not trusting Dhurke. I am trying to establish - mostly through in-game evidence - how she could have gone this long doing so.
Nico has gone on for quite a bit in this case while *assuming* the emotional and mental states of everyone involved. I partly believe that is why he is so confused; because he genuinely thought that this case was not this complicated, so he concluded where all the players stood prematurely. The problem is that he jumped the gun again, and therefore is mistaking the plot revelations, and the story catching up to him, as contradictory with his own assumptions.
I'm just trying to explain things to him as best I can to clear up the inconsistencies that technically should never have been there to begin with.
This is true, Nico tends to jump the gun a lot, his 999 LP is really annoying to watch mostly because of this.
I get why Amara didn't trust Dhurke but I think she went too far on her actions. Also:

It's really frustrating how she gets away scot-free, even Aura Blackquill is arrested for kidnapping a bunch of people in Dual Destinies.
+Vitor Lehmkuhl
Fun fact, I actually called him out during the 4th case of Dual Destinies too for getting angry at plot points that hadn't even been reached yet. Some things never change, I guess.
Actually, ever since 999, I can't help but get annoyed when he obsesses over large chested female characters. Seriously, try finding one line read of Lotus in the 999 LP that doesn't include an ad-lib about her boobs. For that matter, try the same in VLW with Clover and Alice (either their breasts, or calling them sluts/whores). I know I'm ranting right now, but like with jumping the gun, you cant help but notice these things, and when you do, forgetting it is hard when he keeps doing it. Still, I won't every say that these aren't fun romps in their entirety, but I digress;
In the case of Amara, she killed neither Dhurke nor Inga, and is only guilty of pinning the crime on somebody else. The power proceeding Ga'ran - because not deposing her for murder would be insane - granting Amara amnesty would make some sense, given that she did not commit a capital offense, she was effectively and unwittingly held hostage by her own sister, and she is still revered as a near faultless symbol of peace and faith. She was venerated even outside of this case, so seeing her come back from the dead, would you want to lose her again?
BetaBran I am not saying that she should be executed, only that she faces some kind of punishment.
I agree about the sexualized commentaries, I get he talking about it when the character is introduced but it is annoying when he says the same thing anytime the character is on the screen or is mentioned, thankfully he toned this down nowadays.

Spirit mediums aren't aware when they're channeling someone.
She probably wanted to be of help to her sister.
…Doesn't that sound like a pair of twins from Trials and Tribulations?
Nico, remember the conversation between Dhurke and Inga. Dhurke said that he couldn't hurt Maya and he knew why, and Inga said that he had another hostage. THAT was why they went back. Dhurke was referring to the fact that Maya was channeling him

Glad to see Nico reacting to Amara's rage in a similar way.

When it comes to Queen Amara, her logic goes like this: She had an assassination planned and executed for, in which she advocated the throne to her sister to protect herself. Durke broke her out, and they ran. He wanted to prove that he was not the assassin, and she followed him to ascertain the truth.
She still loved him, and even though he couldn't prove his assassination attempt moot, she still loved him.
First Apollo's mentor, then his childhood friend, and now the man who raised him.

Picky Psychology Student So, which one do you mean now? Is it von Karma?
Picky Psychology Student I knew it was Franziska
I love this twist, but I also DESPISE it. Like bruh, this makes you love Dhurke so much and then it stabs you in the back. (My thought process was basically Apollo’s at this part, that whole “please be wrong” feeling, but nope.)
It breaks my heart into pieces to think about the earlier bits of the case after seeing this scene, like, Dhurke didn’t let freaking DEATH get in the way of him seeing Apollo again. That’s so sweet and incredibly heartbreaking.
Also the scene of Dhurke getting shot is possibly the most badass thing that is also capable of making me cry like a toddler.
Apollo slamming his head on the desk is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in this whole series for me, you could tell that he was hoping with all of his heart that he was wrong. This part still made me cry even though I'd already witnessed it on my own playthrough. Plus, Amara and Dhurke's love for each other was so sweet, ahh this I love this case
I've been waiting for this moment for the entire LP, and let me just say...
...that I have no words for how I reacted...
Honestly, it really did. And that was BEFORE I got this profile pic-
The final case of each game (except for AA2)
AA1: Edgeworth's dad dies
AA3: Maya's mom dies
AJ: Trucy's dad's death is covered and that one painter girl's dad dies
DD: Athena's mom's death is covered
SOJ: Everyone's dad dies, and then everyone's other dad dies
TGAAC: The death of Iris' real dad is covered up, and Iris' foster dad (John Wilson) dies.
Tggac: Tobias Gregson dies, and so does the entire English judicial system since it was proven it was held up by a conspiracy

21:50 Nico's wonderful voice acting made the scene much more emotional than it already was. I need my Hajime's! I need to cry.
Ahhhh.. Good stuff =w= show it to me NICOB
I've been waiting the whole LP for this moment.
Time for Nico to see why people call this game the best (after AAI2).
Celia Dawn I take great pleasure from it
I know someone who dislikes it just cuz it wasnt written by the original writer.
I'd say SoJ is even better than AAI2.
Most people say AA3 or AAI2 is the best. This one is quite the contender. I love it.
I think that, with the exception of the two investigation games, the games have consistently gotten better. The first investigations game is my least favorite (I don’t hate it, it’s just the weakest IMO) and Investigations 2 is my favorite (For obvious reasons)
About the phone call; everyone else didn't know Maya was channelling Dhurke so Inga figured he could still pull it off and get Phoenix to do what he wanted, plus it makes what Dhurke says when he takes the phone make more sense.
Also, Inga ran away after shooting Dhurke. Maybe he really thought he could make it and survive.
I have to say, Nico's voice acting during the whole reveal was amazing. It wasn't over the top (though there were some goofy parts, and I'm fine with that) and it genuinely sounded sad and emotional. I'm amazed
So another similarity between Inga and Ace: They both shot someone multiple times with a pistol only for that person to still be alive and go after them, enraged.
Also remember that after Inga claimed to have Maya, Dhurke called him claiming something along the lines of "you can't touch Maya Fey anymore" meaning that Inga was simply lying about having Maya in order to keep his hold on Phoenix.
Your voice acting in the episode was great, Nico, absolutely amazing. You managed to put so many emotions into your portrayal of Apollo during a really difficult time for him, and I really felt it. I don’t usually comment to your videos ‘cause I know I won’t get seen, but you were just really really amazing in this episode. I love when you’re joking and over the top, but this really showed that you’re just as talented when it comes to the really hard emotions to bring life to, you really sold the feelings.
I gotta say, this plot twist is one of the most well done in my opinion. It not like in Duel Destinites or Edgeworth investigations 2 where the plot twist is that the mastermind is someone who you never had expected, cause you always could see that coming. This one though, the fact that finding out the person you didn't even know was dead, who looked alive and well who was special to you and was actually dead all along, really brings the feels.
Gotta agree. Its pretty obvious that its designed to make us suffer though.... ;(
The injustice in this episode is too hard to fathom..........
Monokuma: Yes!!! Give into DESPAIR!!!
Vanitas: Yes!!! SHOW ME ANGUISH!!!
Majima: Yes!!! KIRYU-CHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nico didn't notice but apollo was sweating during this scene.
i think that's a nice detail...
That thumbnail is absolutely unbelievable super cute. Like, really. Why are there so many cute Polly fanarts?
Anatium Regina I think it’s cuz Apollo himself is crazy adorable
gotta fill that empty space in our hearts somehow
Apollo is cute. Simple as that.
Because he deserves it.
A dragon never yeild! Rest in peace Dhurke you were a great father and a great character may we never forget your greatness.
His father is dead. His adoptive father is dead. He has no idea who his mother is. His best friend is dead.
Someone give Apollo a hug for staying this strong man, he earned it.
Ema- “A-And I have positively identified it as...”
*ad plays*
Here's the feels.

That smirk emoticon at the end is really confusing. XD
18:20 Objection,
So since queen Amara is alive or tittering on life is she off the death list?
It's time boys...get ur Hajime's rdy
Jacket Bagel SHOW ME ANGUISH
Credit to you’re VA in this, you did a really great job as Maya
Dhurke getting shot like that kinda reminds me of 999 with Snake being shot at multiple times by Ace and taking it like a boss. No wonder why people told Nico to give Inga the Ace voice. They have the same disorder, both are middle aged, and both shoot awesome guys, run out of bullets, call them monsters, and run away. Man, that was a missed opportunity for the Ace voice. You should have listened to the penguins Nico!
It's so great to see Nico genuinely surprised by a twist.
looks at the thumbnail
looks at the title
i'm still not ready for this
reverie vii No ones truly ready for a ANGUISH
Me neither, and I've seen like 3 or 4 Lpers' reaction to this part already :'( and I still cry every time
Ready or not death will come in many forms. You just have to brace for it
This turnabout made Apollo's character shot up above Phoenix's levels to me. It was such a ride to experience, and I'm glad Apollo's the spearhead of this trial!
More like "Horn Head" of the trial
AAAAAAAAND MY EMOTIONS HAVE YIELDED RIGHT THE HECK OUT THANKS DADDY
BLARGLESNARF SHOW ME ANGUISH
The Dhurke twist is probably one of the best twists in the series. It's such a fantastic use of story elements all the way through, and such a strong bit of development. Speaking of which... Man, Apollo really has it rough.
my Nico senses warned me that you were about to post..
B.I.C. Violet SHOW ME ANGUISH!!
Yeah- that reveal.
I knew it was coming, but I knew I couldn't handle it. My sister decided to check the game out while the reveal was gonna happen. If she wasn't with me, I'm sure I would've broken down by myself. Instead- she was the one that cried, and I didn't exactly tear up until after it was done and over with.
I sympathize with Apollo. I hope things get better for him in future games. :
I need to hug Apollo. For both of our sakes.
It's almost time, Nico. Time for Apollo's finest hour. This trial pretty much has to end with the Super Final Ultimate Omega Godot Beam. Like, going FULL anime on us, we'll allow it.
Poor apollo man....
I felt so bad for him as someone who holds their father dear i cant imagine losing 2 ...
Especially the one that saved your life twice....
Regarding Maya not actually being kidnapped but channelling Dhurke instead, that's exactly why Dhurke took the phone and was like "we all know you're bluffing, Inga".
But can you imagine what Inga must've felt after killing Dhurke? First of all, the dude doesn't flinch after being shot 3 times. Then days after putting his body in the tomb, out of nowhere he starts hearing Dhurke talking on the phone, ruining his bluff for the orb. Then he gets stabbed the next day in the same tomb by (in his view) Dhurke; not only that, he immediately wakes up upon being channelled thinking it was a bad dream (since there's no gap in memory between death and channelling). No wonder he screamed so loudly, man was being haunted!
When getting the Founder’s Orb:
Paul Atishon: “The Crystal of Ami Fey is mine! Now, hand it over!”
Dhurke: “Over my dead body!”
When the Civil Trial is over:
Inga: “Dh-Dhurke?! Is that you, ya dirty turncoat?! H-How in the--! What in blazes is going on here?!
Dhurke: “Oh, you know, just popped over to the States for a little R&R. But enough about me, Inga. That was a poor excuse for a bluff you pulled just now. We both know your threats are as empty as your head. You can’t lay a hand on Maya Fey, and I do mean that literally.”
When Ga’ran tries to arrest Dhurke at the royal residence:
Dhurke: Slow down there, Ga’ran. I’m here to conduct a hostage exchange. But if you take me in now, Maya Fey is as good as dead.
When Apollo shows Dhurke his badge:
Dhurke: “I’m proud of you, son. You’ve really become a fine lawyer.”
Apollo: “Well, at least it means I’m qualified to defend you.”
Dhurke: “…To think the day would come where you’d come to my defense. I’m one lucky man.”
Dhurke: “Now I can die in peace.”
When investigating the tomb:
Athena: “[Inga] was carrying a broken gun around for show?”
Ema: “No, we recovered a bullet here. Which means the gun probably broke as the minister fired its last round. Thing is… the gun’s chambers are all empty. Yet, that one bullet is the only bullet we could find.”
Apollo: “That is strange. Where did the other three go?”
Athena: “…Maybe Dhurke ate them.”
Apollo: “We can ask the next time we see him. Just be ready for his predictably “shocking” answer.”
During the break for Dhurke’s trial:
Apollo: “S-So Dhurke’s on the lamb now?”
Datz: “Probably, but who knows? He vanished in the blink of an eye.”
Apollo: “V-Vanished?”
Datz: “You wanna know something, AJ? Dhurke said to me… “I can’t put Amara in danger.””
Datz: ““I have to set her free before it’s too late.””
…Goddamn it, Capcom…
SHOW ME ANGUISH!! RUB THOSE CHORDS OF SUFFERING!!
Dhurke death didn't just hurt me emotionally, and mentally but it also physically hurt me as well. It was like I overwhelmed by all emotion when it happened that I didn't want to believe it. It was even worse when the Dhurke Apollo was hanging out with was already dead to began with, that I experience my own death as I die inside and couldn't feel anything afterward.Dhurke didn't even kept his promise toward Apollo.
One detail I caught on while watching you play and knowing that Dhurke was dead is when Inga calls to say he has Maya. Dhurke says that he knows it's a bluff because he says he can attest to her being safe for sure which of course he can cause Maya's channeling him.
Holy shit Poor Apollo. If there was anyone who’s been unjustly burdened by loss after loss it’s him. I just want to hug him.
*pops the vodka* damn... onion... ninjas
