In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Tilak Devasher, an author, and a retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India. He is currently serving as a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member and a consultant for Vivekanand International Foundation. He is the author of three widely known books based on Pakistan; ‘Pakistan: Courting the Abyss’ (December 2016), ‘Pakistan: At the Helm’ (July 2018), and ‘Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum’ (July 2019).
Today, Tilak Devasher decodes Pakistan’s current situation and also sheds light on what happened during the partition of India & Pakistan. He talks about the history of Pakistan, the real story behind the India & Pakistan Partitions, his honest opinion on present-day India, and what could have been different if the partition didn’t take place. He further dwells upon Muhammad Ali Jinnah and how he led to the partition. Along with that, Tilak sir talked about the present scenario of Pakistan and what is the situation of non-Muslims in Pakistan.
This was an in-depth conversation about the India and Pakistan partition and how it happened. We also talked about the geopolitical scenario of Pakistan. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and tell us your opinions in the comments!

Listening to him, brought tears in my eyes. I am a Pakistani and this guy has summarised the whole history in minutes. I have read history books ( not the Punjab textbook board), it never made sense to me that why people were not able to understand what's been happening. Its the brain washing of the masses and it has happened so perfectly that it starts from our homes, goes on in Schools and colleges and continues in University and media, even your spouse and family you marry into has the same idea. I moved abroad with my family so that my daughters do not get anywhere near these bastards who would use Islam to manipulate their brains. I feel sorry for the rest of my family living there. Its just beyond disgusting.

For one, I am happy that the partition happened. All the garbage, religious fanatics moved to Pakistan. If India was not partitioned, the ghost of Islam would never have let the citizens of this country, Bharat, live in somewhat of a peaceful existence. I see India is going to moon and making progress, albeit a bit slow in my view, but still a progress. While Pakistan, I don't need to say much.

There are VERY VERY VERY important lessons for India of 2023 in this 36-minute-long video. You cannot define a country by a single religion.
Any attempt to do so will only result in spectacular failure because the human brain will always find a way to differentiate between two things which look absolutely similar.
India can only be made strong when people accept each other's differences & take advantage of those differences to reach the same goal.

Wow!!! An Indian saying Pakistan's problem is that its ethnic groups were historically never part of a single state. Yeah but India with God knows how many ethnic groups has always been a single entity. The 4 major ethnic groups of Pakistan have a shared history.
Here are a few facts that you can check for yourself, there are more Balochs living in Punjab than the entire population of Balochistan. There are more Pushtuns in Karachi Sindh than in Peshawar & Kabul combined.
And Kalat was one of the 4 princely states that became part of the current province of Balochistan. Kharan, Lasbela, and Makran acceded to Pakistan before 47, and Quetta, the current capital of the province, and the entire northern part of the province was part of British India's Chief Commisoners Province and its Municipality and Jirga leaders chose Pakistan. Pakistan bought Gwadar from Oman in 50's. And no Without Quetta and the 3 princely states, Kalat would not have shared a border with oil-rich Iran, rather it would have been enclosed within the territory of Pakistan from all sides, so was not feasible.

The speaker is wrong when he says, to which sect a Muslim in Pakistan belongs to is more important to him than Islam. Those differences may be 1% but what they agree on are 99%. They all define themselves as Muslims, they call themselves Muslims and they all say they are Pakistanis. Some people, because of ignorance or bad intentions, try to divide Muslims between Sunni, Shia, Barelvi, Daubundi. As far as sects & castes are concerned, there are much, much more in India and with wider differences.

It's funny that the host did not know that Brahui and Tamil have a certain degree of similarity. In fact, this was established quite early during the British rule, when linguists realized that Brahui was an isolated case of a language having Dravidian roots but sitting amid Indo-Aryan speaking communities. There has even been some speculation that this might indicate that Dravidian speaking people once inhabited Southern Pakistan and Western India, and that they were responsible for the Indus Valley Civilization, which anyway, predates the arrival of Aryans into India.

Similarly for biharis who are the most hindus inside than anything else, 😂
Biharis have been called hindustani in Pakistan. My grandfather came to Pakistan in 1952 looking for jobs because India was dying with hunger, he was not religious at all the rest of the biharis in the family tried to fit in as Muslims but inside their souls they were hindus, women wearing Indian saris and bindi and following bihari culture, but after 9/11 we see a real change, nó more saris and no more bindis and the whole country gets radical Muslims like never before. When these Muslims converts during the time of mughals they didn't like it but they had no choice as a middle class then British comes and uses the same class then again they had no choice to remain hindu. I finally feel that my generation of 80s had finally sensed that I've a choice as a middle class to look into this and choose the religion or way of life.
British always wanted to take one revenge for the failure of east India company. The other interests were soviet union to stay in the region.

    (1) in 1937, congress got power n it showed inclination towards hindus ...it was a glimpse of the future if hindus are in majority,,they will not spare muslims...current indian government is proving it again too.
    (2) muslim was defined and agreed by all in 1970s and qadianis were declared non muslim as they dont consider prophet Muhammad peace be upon him as last prophet.
    (3) grandson of nawab of qallat in an interview on geo channel( its on you youtube) said that my grand father told us that he saw prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in his dream n he asked to vote for Pakistan...

Apart from what's right or wrong, at that time jinnah realised that Muslims will be in minority and because of that majorities will be protected and he was 100% right cuz its not about this or that but everyone's focus on majorities and their needs. And Same happened at that time it was not like Muslims were in bad situation but priority were Hindus because of majority that's why he took that decision. Even now we can see in india it's not like Muslims are being treated bad but they are not treated equally reason majorities right? Decision are made according to Hindus and even if you dont want it but at some point some extremists treat Muslims badly and say that minority and jinnah save us from that. What's happening now in pakistan is different but we've spent the golden time as well in pakistan. Insha Allah we'll rise again.
And second and most important things that it's a fact that pakistan have manipulated some history and cuz of that now we considered everything is manipulated. But that fact is that we've never take interest in history we belive on what we've studied in school after that we were like okay this happened and all that but there are many books in library in which history is written but we were not interested in library or stuff (q k ham to mahaan haina)

The failure of 1946 coalition government of Congress and Indian Muslim league frustrated prime minister nehru and home minister Patel so much that both of them decided to get rid of all India Muslim league once and for all by conceding partition of India. Patel mentions this in his 1948 speech when someone asks him if Pakistan and India could back gether again, he answered this partition has separated the bad guys from the good guys. Let them run their country and if successful India will enjoy the cool Breeze that flows from Pakistan to India.
India also stood to benefit from partition because Pakistan insulated India from the attacks from Afghanistan like a buffer State.

While most, not all, facts seem to be correct, the interpretation is flawed. Lets start with Jinnah.
Jinnah was an ardent Indian nationalist till 1930, when Mr Gandhi began to saffronize Congress and Muslim League was divided, Jinnah left politics and india and settled in England, bought a house and started his practice. This is not ambition for leadership, it’s actually a proof of his sincerity. Gokhele called Jinnah ambassador of Hindu Muslim unity. As did Sarojini Naidu. Many prominent Hindus and Sikhs admired Jinnah.
The idea of separate state for Muslims was first articulated by Iqbal. Google Allahabad address. Yes, same Iqbal who penned “sarae jahan se acha Hindustan hamara”. Iqbal was compelled to change his mind when he saw congress was controlled by Hindus who had no interest in Muslim welfare. Shuddi Sangatthan movement was in ascendency.
It took Iqbal three years to convince Jinnah of two nation policy for Muslim league. In 1935 Jinnah accepted to return on condition five prominent leaders of ML must invite him.
The true colors of Congress came to light after winning 1937 provincial elections when Muslims were treated as third class citizens. This cemented the idea of Pakistan.
Muslims don’t believe in nationalism or ethnicity, the only uniting force is Islam. This was the basis and the binding glue of Pakistan. Nations rise and fall in history. So the current challenge Muslims face is something which all nations have faced in history. Mankind is a work in progress. Muslims ruled over subcontinent for centuries when binding force was Islam.
Why ML leaders didn’t go to jail? Jinnah was not an agitator, his world was victory in court rooms based on jurisprudence, not on the streets by mob action. The direct action day was a peaceful show of force Bcos British refused to follow their own law. It was an exception. Forces opposed to ML caused the chaos and violence.
BTW, this writer was born, raised and educated in India. So don’t go blaming Pakistan or Mullah or religion. Facts are stubborn thing.
I don’t agree with the speaker at all. He is twisting all facts to suit his preconceived ideas. But it’s his show, he can say whatever he wants.

Pakistan ka MATLAB Kia "la Ilaha illalla " itself defines that all the event happening and actions taken should be in accordance to Islam and not the culture , ethnicity, language driven motive . ISLAM order asks the Muslims to respect all the people despite of the class colour or creed . THIS is us humans who want to make discrimination against other peaple so that he/she is considered as superior. There are alot of problems when peaple with different backgrounds come into one unit . BUT that is another case if someone is doing the fire work in the matter of the country being independent . This person is right in some places but he is terribly wrong in other point which is the church attackes being said that Tehreek - labeek party did the name of Islam . If they really did this in the sacred name that is against the teachings of Islam but they did because they r being tought wrong which what so ever does not justify there wrong doings . If v see in the all over the world there are massive killings also but terrorists and terrorism have no religion and v have to acknowledge this fact . The mentality they have is due to reason that the Madrasas they go to are formed by a findings from the other ways .
The point of forming PAKISTAN is to create a place where everyone from everywhere May come and live and practice there religions . And Muslim facing other challenges should be overcome and should have a separate state so that no body is ruling them over there religion and other values . Now we are at this stage that if there is a mughal , Kashmiri, baloch , Punjabi, afghani , etc what so ever ethnicity you belong to now it's time we must come under the flag of PAKISTAN which is for the people of Pakistan which does not discriminate under different sects but brings together the idea of following unity and togetherness

    • @puneetmishra4726
      @puneetmishra4726 2 місяці тому +1

      1. Jinnah wasn't thrown into jail because he was never a politician. He was a lawyer and he treated Pakistan like a case that he has to win. There is ample evidence, as pointed out by Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed (prof. GC Lahore) in his biography of Jinnah, that Jinnah never much cared about Pakistan itself. If he did, he would have been actively involved in constitution making as he was the biggest legal mind they had but he didn't. He even said to the Indian ambassador "tell Jawaharlal I want to return to Bombay". Just like a lawyer, once the case is closed he is out of it.
      2. The difference is courage. The Pakistanis never had the courage to do military action and resorted to proxies and all those Afridi hooligans did was plunder and rape.
Indian army didn't worry about any trouble and they went into Junagadh and Hyderabad with blowing the bugle.

Out of ignorance the British and jinnah created Pakistan. This was the best move as a large number of non Hindus moved out. I hate to think what Bharat would be with the current number of Muslims that exist in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Most of the problem people moved out..
