    In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome again Tilak Devasher, an author, and a retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India. He is currently serving as a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member and a consultant for Vivekanand International Foundation. He is the author of three widely known books based on Pakistan; ‘Pakistan: Courting the Abyss’ (December 2016), ‘Pakistan: At the Helm’ (July 2018), and ‘Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum’ (July 2019).
    This episode was about decoding the complete history of Pakistan post-independence. We talked about various aspects of Pakistan and the mindset of people there. Tilak sir dwelled upon the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah & Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and how they changed the dynamics of Pakistan. He further talks about the 1971 War and decodes Pakistan's geopolitical narrative.
    This was an in-depth conversation about the India and Pakistan partition. We also talked about the Pakistan's history post-independence. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and tell us your opinions in the comments!

    36:48 As a citizen of GB (Gilgit Baltistan) specifically from the Siachen region, it is accurate to acknowledge that our region lacks certain essential facilities that are available to the residents of Ladakh and Kargil. The condition of our roads is subpar, healthcare services are notably inadequate, and the region is serviced by only two universities throughout Gilgit-Baltistan.

    Jinnah not knowing about the violence that will take place is an absolute joke. He knew exactly how violent his Muslim brothers could be. There were plenty of regular examples of that pre-independence dating back decades and centuries. He was the one to incite the Kolkata killings by calling for direct action day. He knew what kind of violence would erupt. He just didn't realise Hindus and Sikhs will fight back equally hard 😂 that's what he didn't expect. In other riots prior to the 1947 violence Muslims were only faced with regional communities of Hindus and it was also never something that was as big as partition which involved displacement of people and what do people value more than their roots and Heritage in India? Nothing! Plus before this Hindus were almost always caught off-guard with these violent riots started by Muslims this was different. So, when you say Jinnah didn't know the kind of violence that would erupt it's just that he didn't expect as much muslims to die 😂

    • @genericguy_
      @genericguy_ 5 місяців тому +1

      Infantilization of leaders is something that buslims are very fond of doing 😂 Notice how they claim that their prophet was illiterate, couldn't read or write, how could he have known this or that??!! similarly jinnah, the UK educated barrister, had no idea the violence that would have happened??!! hilarious 😭

    • @genericguy_
      @genericguy_ 5 місяців тому +1

      "He just didn't realise Hindus and Sikhs will fight back equally hard"......
      How could he when our great leader gandhi decided to side with the buslims during the 1921 moplah roits and 1946 noakhali roits. This is what he said - 'Hindus should not harbour anger against buslims even if the latter want to destroy and kill us all. We should face death bravely. If buslims established their rule after killing Hindus we'd be ushering in a new India" 😭🤣

    16:43 As a Bangladeshi I would like to add that A K Fazlul Haque, one of the prominent leaders in Bengal wanted three separate countries in a conference arranged at Lahore in 1940. But after the 1946 Kolkata riot, everything seems to have changed. And as the heat of the moment of Muslim brotherhood rose the separate East Bengal movement hadn’t seen any light. Till this day I feel ashamed of being ruled by Pakistanis and feel the pain my people went through pak military atrocities.

So that we don't get sucked in the power battle of two superpowers. Even now our position is not too far different, though we call it multialignment. Why ranveer is so apologetic to his pakistani audiences even for the factual things? Doing everything to please everyone is start of the fall for anyone. Just be authentic and not care for catering to ALL the audiences. Only then you can stay where you are.

    Ranveer, please also do a podcast on why the Pak economy has fallen to such an extent. Many young folks may not know, but for the longest time, in the 70s 80s and 90s, Pak was waaay ahead of India and always had better prosperity and projections. It was not inconceivable that Kashmir would go to Pak.
    It can't be as simple as no more funding from the US and hence economy has faltered, there have to be systemic issues and it would have to be a sequence of bad decisions - a chain reaction.
    Hoping that this discussion will raise a number of issues that even India should be mindful of.

Now having said that there is one thing that I want to suggest is that it's better you do some basic research on the subject that you are discussing in your show, because if you are inviting an expert like Tilak sir you should take that opportunity to have a deeper understanding of the matter rather than barely scratching the surface.
    Earlier podcasts with Tilak sir were much better this one looks very basic as you were just probing the commonly known facts.

You say you are not with anyone but you are not remain ready to fight or secure the nation then you remain very vulnerable... which made them almost go in USSR group which defeated main non alignment 🤦‍♂️

How our leaders got India out of British hand's....what were the geo political powers at that time...how weakened we were economically... don't forget...our constitution give us India togather....we were fighting British for freedom but we were fragmented into 546 princely states... so don't jump the gun.... those leaders had empty hand's to begin country progress.... world around them was different.. just out of 2nd world war....... don't criticise Nehru bcos he was Congress man...he was the pm of nation..... maybe 50years later current PM could be judged poorly for his performance.....each PM irrespective of the political party...they work best in the current geo political environment....
