    Great episode, you guys are the real deal and not just about advertising products rather than giving good content which all the others I was watching are now doing. Really impressed with your van and looking forward to the video re the off grid electrics set up. We are 1/4 way into our 18 month trip around Oz in our on road van and loving it, hopefully will cross paths somewhere in this amazing country. Keep on just vanning it 👍👍

    Diesel heater watch John McK47. Prime press the bottom two buttons, when using at the end run full power to reduce soot. Do not turn off power, it burns out microprocessor board. It needs a cool down at the end of use, carry spare fuel filter and hose, any air leaks it will not run. Russell

    White smoke from the heater means the diesel is too cold. You can buy a additive for it in cold weather.

    • @bradworthington8594
      @bradworthington8594 2 роки тому +3

      Not if the smoke is coming from the inlet. Unburnt diesel is also shown as white smoke. Thats means the heat exchanger has probably cracked and now filling the van with carbon monoxide, even burnt diesel and partially burnt diesel contains carbon monoxide. I know there are thousands of Chinese diesel heaters getting around but personally I payed the extra dollars for a safer units with better build materials.

    • @rossemaryvickers1724
      @rossemaryvickers1724 2 роки тому

      We had this issue with our diesel heater when we switched it off. Turns out it’s important to switch the heater off first then the electrical switch . Our dealer spoke with the importer of our heater ( which is German not Chinese but I’m sure they are all essentially the same) and this was their advice, problem solved.
      Can’t remember the exact explanation

    I run my heater on pulse. 1.6 the lowest. But at the end I run it to max 5.5 pulse rate for more than 10 min. I think it sorted up. You may have done the seal. $150 is not much. Mine been running for two years. The motor that drives fans is small motor. I only have one vent in van. No tee. The air intake filter had more holes drilled in with a sock. My exhaust is not a long run but it's blowing out. Follow john's video. He fitted and repaired the expensive ones in trucks.

    • @justvanningit

      Thank you . Will replace the motor and see how we go

    Another great video troops.....Diesel heaters....because its diesel, its a "dirty" fuel....Had one in first van, worked fine for several weeks then same problem as you, along with 500,000 others that made the same mistakes as we did...When you start it, must be run for considerable time so combustion chamber can burn the fuel completely....Units do not like short on then off cycles....we all do/did that.. also, running kerosene thru, mixed in the diesel is a big help. But second van has the gas heater because cleaner burn doesnt have same problems, and current price of diesel makes LPG very affordable fuel...Just sayin...

    • @justvanningit
      @justvanningit  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the heads up . Will look at some options when we decide to replace the heater

    A couple drinks before cooking?
    Please do not move your steaks after just placin them on the grill. Let them sit for their allotted minutes before touching.

      SpaceX's Starlink for RV'ers is really taking off over the last few months since its release too, its kind of expensive at the moment $175 au a month, but elon musk is offering month by month no contract plans with unlimited data, once your a customer and you have paid for the equipment, you are not charged any cancellation fees and you can pay for a month anytime you want without incuring any sign up fee's again, which makes it great for van lifer's and people on holliday's and the internet speeds are increasing every time he launches new satelites, suggest checking out van lifer youtubers who have the starlink RV setups, sitting on mountain tops in the middle of the wilderness with no cell towers for thousands of kilometres the internet speeds are almost on par with our current fibre optic land lines!... by the way, no other company in australia is offering unlimited data, every other satellite internet company in australia has download limits.
