Awesome video, so much so I can say who I will go too when its time to upgrade, a credit to them for allowing you to give us such a complete build and explanation
Happy Sunday to all you lovely people . This week we share with you the build of our off-road caravan made here in Australia. We hope you enjoyed it and leave a comment on what you think of our new off-road caravan . Have an awesome week and we will see you next week with the reveal of the caravan 🤙🏻
What a epic video mate! Really enjoyed the delivery and the way you explain what is happening, was very easy to follow! One of the best caravan build videos on the internet! Congrats on the the deal to! You guys have worked so hard and I can’t think of more deserving people!! Enjoy legends and can’t wait to see it in the flesh!! 🍻🤙🏽🍻
Thanks guys, such an exciting time for us and really wanted to showcase exactly what goes into a build from scratch. It's amazing to watch first hand. Had loads of fun woth the Vacationer crew. Thanks for the support!
Your new van looks fabulous. From what we can see, your colour selection looks really nice. Like the timber look at the moment. Can’t wait for the delivery and you showing us around. ✔️❤️😀
Thank you 🙏 It was really interesting to actually watch our van get built . Can’t wait to share the finished product and get it hooked to the back of the cruiser
@@suelandolt6840 pretty good down here, you could bring it down for a show or are you on your way north for a bit of rain. Got a couple of special places to take you 🤔Google image magic rock and big town near me . Didn’t look like you kept the honeymoon bed 😂😂 🤟🏻
Ahah Deryck is very happy with it. Going to house the outboard motor which is great 👍 Vacationer were awesome in working with us and meeting all our individual needs and asks!
FANTASTIC EPISODE How exciting to watch your own caravan being built and they make it look easy ! Both of you have to be thrilled with it so far . Congrats.
Really interesting video, looking forward to the second part. It would be interesting to see a video where you discuss the decision making process that lead you to ordering this van, and what has worked, and has not worked for you in your previous vans, which impacted your choice of van 👍
Thanks Cam, great advice and will def include that in our reveal. We learnt so much from. Our previous cans that all impacted our decision on this one.
Wow! Well done Deryk & Sue. What a great episode. You made that so interesting- and I think we’re nearly as excited as you! 🕺🏼 The van looks great so far - looking fwd to the final reveal 👍 And congrats on becoming their Ambassadors! 😊
Nice van guys, we’ve got an 18”6 duel axle and it rows like a dream and that configuration real helps with ball weight. Your video is one of the best van builds I’ve seen. As always you guys make fun to watch. Good luck with the new home.
Epic build good on you guys 😉 the van looks really cool 👍 and great colour choice aswell looking forward to seeing the end result keep on Vanning It cheers
Oh wow that is so exciting! I reackon your van would have been in the same production line as ours then! Very exciting for you. Hope you enjoy it and let us know how you go!
Very nice video, its amazing to see how exited you are about the whole build. We wish you thousands and thousands of kilometres of joy and fun. We are concerned about a small detail you dont mention………..Sophie where does she fit in ? 😂😂😂😂 Kan nie wag om julle op die pad raak te look nie. Cheers Johnny&Rene
Hi Sue and Deryk. Really enjoy all your videos. Looking forward to seeing your adventures in the new van. Quick question for Sue: what sort of work do you do on the road? Cheers, David and Moira.
Thanks so much David I work for a company leading their recruitment team. We recruit aged care professional for care homes across Australia. My team also works remotely from NSW, Vic and Brisbane. It is the best job in the world, am very blessed to have a company that supports remote working!
Interesting to see AL-KO Components on an Australian Caravan :). Just one question: I see it all the time with caravans not built in Europe. Is there any reason why these caravans do not have an anti-sliding / anti-swinging coupling / anti-twister coupling (I don't know the exact translation sorry)? They seem to be a stock feature with most european caravans.
Hi, thanks for your question. The Dakar is an amazing van and would have been our first choice but couldn’t pull the weight as it is a heavier van. So decided to spec up the rough rider with Dakar specs. Vacationer offer airbag and disc brake options but you would be better off specking up the Rough Rider (or other) with the Dakar extras in terms of weight. Vacationer are really flexible to accommodate this. We have watched a Dakar get built which was just behind our van and they are a beautiful van.
If you get an electrical fault do they need to remove outside wall to fix it or get to wiring ? How are outside speakers secured to van? Glue? Silicone?
Great video of the build process and the van looks like a beast! One question, you made reference to no timber in the floor so no rot if there is a leak, no timber in the frame so no rot if there are leaks, did they offer an option for something other than plywood for the internal wall panel?
Thank you 🙏 . They do offer a fibreglass interior one piece wall and ceiling . The top end caravan offers that as a standard but on the roghrider it’s an upgrade
Thanks so much. This is massive for us, our first ever brand new van! And really grateful that Vacationer let us share the build with our viewers. So so interesting to watch the process. We decided on Vacationer for a number of reasons, Australian built, value/price, quality products and design of the van and Vacationers willingness to build this to our very specific needs. We asked for so many changes to suit our personal needs and Vacationer were on board and made them all happen. We got industry feedback that it's a good van manufacturer. Will do full reveal and talk through each specific change they made for us and all products/design aspects next week in reveal. Please feel free to hit us up with any other questions.
Awesome video, so much so I can say who I will go too when its time to upgrade, a credit to them for allowing you to give us such a complete build and explanation

Why no air bag suspension ?
Airbag suspension is more money and weight .
Why no air bags?
Cost and weight
