Whatever will happen in their 3rd fight i think Alistair is the winner here becouse he won(one time at least) in Badrs sport ! And Badr was scared to challenge Overeem in a real fight (mma rules)- for a reason - it wouldnt be a fight really.

    These two legends are two of my top 5 fav/best kickboxers and Muay-Thai kickboxers of all time, along with Ernesto Hoost, Buakaw, and Le'Banner. However I actually am not the most enthused for this 3rd fight though. Overeem is pretty damn old now, (Badr no spring chicken either), but more importantly Reem isn't the same fighter he was back when he won the K1 Grand-Prix in 2010 or when he ko'd Badr. Alot of people love to say that he's always has a glass chin, which is utter bullshit. He's eaten tons of bunches and kicks that would ko'd most fighters, (in both mma and kickboxing), back then though the reason that if and when he lost - he would usually lose by KO, was due entirely to his overly aggressive stand-up and left him vulnerable to being caught. Every single time he got ko'd back then, were blows that woulda ko'd any fighter. However that being said, sadly due to him suffering so many ko's over his career - following his first few bouts in the UFC he definitely has now developed a glass jaw. Like i said before though, it wasn't until then that you saw him start getting rocked/ko'd by shots that he was easily shrugged off just a few years earlier. Realizing this problem, he changed up his fighting style to compensate for this major weak spot, and credit to him for still going out and being one of the 5 or 10 HW's in mma long after his prime n top of having that glass jaw. So, while all those who assert that he's always been a glass cannon - simply don't know what they're talking about and most likely haven't actually watched many of those fights back then when he was in his prime - there's no doubt that he has since become a bit of a glass cannon in recent years. I don't wanna see him go in there and get demolished by Badr, who had the skills and power to KO Reem even back when Reem still had a good chin and i was in his prime back when they first fought. He also seems to be suffering from some CTE issues. He's one of - if not my number-1 favorite fighter of all time, and i don't want to see him have these long lasting exponentially worsening health probs as a result of all the head trauma he's taken over the years. I just don't want to see him suffer from the same fate that many combat sports athletes have over the years.

    • @mattjack3983
      @mattjack3983 Рік тому +5

      Yeah thats the shitty thing about getting KO'd..you take enough KO hits, and you DO end up developing a glass jaw. The legs and the body can be conditioned, and built up, to take hard hits. Unfortunately the brain cannot be conditioned and built up to take hits like that. The hits to the brain are accumulative, and all add up, and after a while, hits that a fighter would have easily eaten and shook off without much trouble, end up putting them to sleep, and causing real life threatening damage. Alot of fighters who had good hard chins, like Overeem, just aren't the same after being KO'd..especially after being KO'd multiple times. A glass jaw can most certainly be developed, you are 100% correct, and thats exactly what happened to Overeem.

      @20fadhilRevolution Рік тому +3

      He also cut too hard during his LHW days. He also already got into 49 pro fights by the time he went to UFC. Anyone would've become glass cannon by then.
      But don't worry, Badr also suffered a lot. His body's so injured he broke his leg just from an awkward landing.

    I watched these guys fight live, and have been in the loop for the kickboxing fights over the years. I have seen Overeem's big losses in MMA, and have seen Badr's latest fights which were not very impressive compared to his second fight vs Overeem. Most of Badr's recent fights ended up with injuries.
    I am hoping for Badr to win, but I predict he will somehow get injured again unfortunately. Badr's boxing training helped him develop some powerful combinations, but to me it seems like his kickboxing talent decreased a lot after that. He was a powerful fighter from all ranges years ago, but lately he has put the focus on his boxing skills and his overall fighting range has decreased. Especially versus a shorter guy like Overeem he should make use of his range, which he did very well in their second fight.
