Badr Hari vs. Alistair Overeem 3 is one of the most epic trilogy in kickboxing history. Why? Because the history behind their first match and second match is as historic as it comes. These two legends are two of my top 5 fav/best kickboxers and Muay-Thai kickboxers of all time, along with Ernesto Hoost, Buakaw, and Le'Banner. However I actually am not the most enthused for this 3rd fight though. Overeem is pretty damn old now, (Badr no spring chicken either), but more importantly Reem isn't the same fighter he was back when he won the K1 Grand-Prix in 2010 or when he ko'd Badr. Alot of people love to say that he's always has a glass chin, which is utter bullshit. He's eaten tons of bunches and kicks that would ko'd most fighters, (in both mma and kickboxing), back then though the reason that if and when he lost - he would usually lose by KO, was due entirely to his overly aggressive stand-up and left him vulnerable to being caught. Every single time he got ko'd back then, were blows that woulda ko'd any fighter. However that being said, sadly due to him suffering so many ko's over his career - following his first few bouts in the UFC he definitely has now developed a glass jaw. Like i said before though, it wasn't until then that you saw him start getting rocked/ko'd by shots that he was easily shrugged off just a few years earlier. Realizing this problem, he changed up his fighting style to compensate for this major weak spot, and credit to him for still going out and being one of the 5 or 10 HW's in mma long after his prime n top of having that glass jaw. So, while all those who assert that he's always been a glass cannon - simply don't know what they're talking about and most likely haven't actually watched many of those fights back then when he was in his prime - there's no doubt that he has since become a bit of a glass cannon in recent years. I don't wanna see him go in there and get demolished by Badr, who had the skills and power to KO Reem even back when Reem still had a good chin and i was in his prime back when they first fought. He also seems to be suffering from some CTE issues. He's one of - if not my number-1 favorite fighter of all time, and i don't want to see him have these long lasting exponentially worsening health probs as a result of all the head trauma he's taken over the years. I just don't want to see him suffer from the same fate that many combat sports athletes have over the years.
Yeah thats the shitty thing about getting KO'd..you take enough KO hits, and you DO end up developing a glass jaw. The legs and the body can be conditioned, and built up, to take hard hits. Unfortunately the brain cannot be conditioned and built up to take hits like that. The hits to the brain are accumulative, and all add up, and after a while, hits that a fighter would have easily eaten and shook off without much trouble, end up putting them to sleep, and causing real life threatening damage. Alot of fighters who had good hard chins, like Overeem, just aren't the same after being KO'd..especially after being KO'd multiple times. A glass jaw can most certainly be developed, you are 100% correct, and thats exactly what happened to Overeem.
He also cut too hard during his LHW days. He also already got into 49 pro fights by the time he went to UFC. Anyone would've become glass cannon by then. But don't worry, Badr also suffered a lot. His body's so injured he broke his leg just from an awkward landing.

I watched these guys fight live, and have been in the loop for the kickboxing fights over the years. I have seen Overeem's big losses in MMA, and have seen Badr's latest fights which were not very impressive compared to his second fight vs Overeem. Most of Badr's recent fights ended up with injuries. I am hoping for Badr to win, but I predict he will somehow get injured again unfortunately. Badr's boxing training helped him develop some powerful combinations, but to me it seems like his kickboxing talent decreased a lot after that. He was a powerful fighter from all ranges years ago, but lately he has put the focus on his boxing skills and his overall fighting range has decreased. Especially versus a shorter guy like Overeem he should make use of his range, which he did very well in their second fight.
@@kvfk8917 I mean they're 1-1 its not technically a revenge as Badr won the last one. It's gonna be crazy! I can see Badr just absolutely destroying him like he did to Rico that first rd if he doesn't throw spinning shit
The stare down subtitle "HORSE MEAT WONT HELP THIS TIME" was a nice touch! 🤣 Classic reply about steroids by Alistair. These were the good ol days of K1, Pride, DREAM, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other organizations.
Overeem has his reputation at stake, so he may have the same fire in his belly that encouraged Badr between the first and second fight. Badr's got the reach, though, and he OBVIOUSLY knows how to train properly. What style of fighting will the 3rd match be? Great video, by the way!!! Holy cow, this was beautifully paced, and ridiculously informative. I hope someone's paying you what you're worth.
I respect both. Everyone has unique style. What I liked the most in this vid is that Badr said it and did it. That was serious and strong determination.
@@angelangel-vv2yz It is about points. It is different than wresting. When there is a big difference in points and one losing fighter became exhausted then it is wise from a referee to stop the fight otherwise that exhausted fighter would be injured badly. It was a matter of time before he could have knocked him down. The referee saw enough.
Hari and Ream are pretty similar in their early years, both lanky powerful Dutch kick boxers, but due to the adaptations to their sport they have become very different. All I can say is I am happy that we are seeing top kick boxers enter mma and find success.
I’m Dutch, and I love doing Muay Thai, and kickboxing before that. I don’t think Badr has nice technique, it’s street fighter mentality that takes over quick enough.
I'm Moroccan and I really love Overeem and respect him a lot he's one of the greatest kickboxing in the history and for badr obviously the some thing for him ♥️
I mean sure, Alistair Overeem is a high level MMA fighter, but calling him the strongest is kinda of a stretch. But I remember their two fights, in the first, Overeem was juiced to the gills, Badr was still natural, he got destroyed. Then the 2nd fight, Badr also came in juiced to the sky, and he demolished Alistair instead :) Badr was always better, he just didn't have any juice onboard at that time.
Quando Alistar começou a lutar à distância na segunda luta, ofereceu toda a oportunidade que o seu adversário esperava! E ele aproveitou a sua chance...
Badr is my favorite, I notice him lost his reaction, speed, explosiveness, and his stance is different. And he looks like he isn't as focused as before, but you can do it Badr!
Both are just out of this world, but I cant' help to point out that Alistair is the one fighting out of his confort zone. Badr has the edge in that ring, but in the cage (MMA) there is no doubt who would come on top.
The reason Overeem went to the UFC in the first place was due to his success in kickboxing. Overeem has 15 fights in kickboxing and he won most of those. Hari on the other hand hasn't won a bout in more than 7 years. I don't see how Badr has "the edge" in the ring, in any way. Like, at all.
@@vivianmathew8281 Definitely. These two both want to prove they still got it. They both have a lot to lose (honor, not prizes). They will go all out. Especially Badr.

Both on steroids, badr roided up for the 2nd fight. Probably was natty in the first fight or off cycle for a long time. Ubereem regular cyclist since the beginning of his career
@@SexyMaroc Because he made the promise to rematch in MMA and then backed out? Overeem isn't a kickboxing fighter either, yet he still fought in kickboxing.
First time watching your channel and I’m really impressed….from the way you tell a story to the video editing , and everything in between. Makes this a very enjoyable video to watch . Great work all around!
Thanks so much, hope you stay to watch more!
@@LawrenceKenshin from a former kickboxing champ in 1990's this vid is very well done. and the fighters are superb. The guy with bigger muscles will loose again because he's slower. Badr knows that and that he exploited superbly in second fight. Bigger body builders arms travel slower :)

Both Fighter are legends in their own way. Great fights the trilogy!
That's what sports are all about. Charge, attack, fall down get up again. Improve yourself and keep pushing forward.
Congrats to both of this warriors!
I really like that story.
Great narrative !
Keep it up !
Thanks a lot for the support!
Both guys are monster👍👍👍 Nice video man👍
Yes they are, thanks a lot!
A great comeback from badr Harry.. Respect from Algéria 🇩🇿 👍🏼🌹
This was awesome. Glad I found this video.
This is what I'm talking about!
Go Badr!!!
EPIC - can't wait for the long awaited rematch!!

@@kvfk8917 I mean they're 1-1 its not technically a revenge as Badr won the last one. It's gonna be crazy! I can see Badr just absolutely destroying him like he did to Rico that first rd if he doesn't throw spinning shit
That was hard core fighting 💪 total respect!
bro honest opinion, nice commentary and info, well presented, and these 2 guys are just legends !!!
The stare down subtitle "HORSE MEAT WONT HELP THIS TIME" was a nice touch! 🤣 Classic reply about steroids by Alistair. These were the good ol days of K1, Pride, DREAM, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other organizations.
I always root for the humble guy!
So you're sitting this one out?
@@countryinnmotel9824 😂
Badr got rip during 2nd fight. He improved his upper, shoulders swole af
Mesmerising narration. Keep growing!!
Thank you
Badr had the potential to be a great fighter. He just need to work on his attitude.
Hats off to both!
they're both great
3:00 she enjoy it 😁
Great vid. Overeem is so freaking strong
I respect both. Everyone has unique style. What I liked the most in this vid is that Badr said it and did it. That was serious and strong determination.
Yes but he couldn't put him down but it was referee decision to stop
@@angelangel-vv2yz It is about points. It is different than wresting. When there is a big difference in points and one losing fighter became exhausted then it is wise from a referee to stop the fight otherwise that exhausted fighter would be injured badly. It was a matter of time before he could have knocked him down. The referee saw enough.
Never heard of these guys but was glued to this the whole time. Im subscribing in hopes the quality continues. Well done.
Hari and Ream are pretty similar in their early years, both lanky powerful Dutch kick boxers, but due to the adaptations to their sport they have become very different. All I can say is I am happy that we are seeing top kick boxers enter mma and find success.

Badr is so scary because he can fuck you up, but more so because you genuinely don’t know if he’ll stop.
very true
Stop it, Badr can't even win a kickbox fight😂😂
I’m Dutch, and I love doing Muay Thai, and kickboxing before that. I don’t think Badr has nice technique, it’s street fighter mentality that takes over quick enough.

great preparation and video montage man. Thanks.
Excellent Presentation. Camera, story and narrator, music… 8.5 out of 10.
Badr never showed fear and fought with heart. Sometimes his anger got the bettee of him
lol never show fear? is that why he didn't accept the mma fight?
His anger is a coping mechanism for fear and insecurity.
@@abdul-hadidadkhah1459 what clowns, mike tyson is maybe wrong when he said Badr is his favourite 🤣
I mean sure, Alistair Overeem is a high level MMA fighter, but calling him the strongest is kinda of a stretch.
But I remember their two fights, in the first, Overeem was juiced to the gills, Badr was still natural, he got destroyed.
Then the 2nd fight, Badr also came in juiced to the sky, and he demolished Alistair instead :) Badr was always better, he just didn't have any juice onboard at that time.
at the time of this bout, he was definitely the most jacked and the strongest :)
2:28 pretty sure it was a little more than horsemeat that got him that way
For sure, just increase the horse meat dose

Badr is an example of having pride and still winning lol
Both are just out of this world, but I cant' help to point out that Alistair is the one fighting out of his confort zone. Badr has the edge in that ring, but in the cage (MMA) there is no doubt who would come on top.
The reason Overeem went to the UFC in the first place was due to his success in kickboxing. Overeem has 15 fights in kickboxing and he won most of those. Hari on the other hand hasn't won a bout in more than 7 years. I don't see how Badr has "the edge" in the ring, in any way. Like, at all.
