Pikmin being my favorite franchise, i always love seeing people dive into the games and what their thoughts are. Completely agree with the bugs and glitches taking a lot away from thr experience but nevertheless its still one of my favorite games ever
Pikmin 1 was the only pikmin game I could actually bring myself to beat. (I never finished 2 or 4). I think the timer just makes it feel so different from any other Nintendo game and I love it for being actually legitimately difficult.
Pikmin 1 has such a unique tone compared to the rest, adding on tons of stress. I wish they revisited that, it’s such a cool concept

Dude, I completely agree with you. The Pikmin AI is completely trash in Pikmin 1 and there are more glitches in this game than almost any other Nintendo game, yet I still love this game so much. The gameplay of the Pikmin series is just so fun, and the replayability of this game is Pikmin 1's greatest strength. Trying to beat the game in fewer in game days is so satisfying.
Also, eventually you can learn what the AI is going to do and account for it. That isn't me defending the terrible AI, because the player shouldn't have to account for the AI being this stupid, but it can be done. I personally think Pikmin 3 AI is great and anything beyond that game is just extra bells and whistles.
Thanks for all your details, now I personally don’t think the ai sucks, because I am able to overcome it. However when writing this was after my 2nd play through so it was definitely more annoying. I love the pikmin series and even the little things they fix make all the difference, I can’t wait to make more pikmin reviews in the future too. 👍

Also I don't know when you first started playing the Pikmin series, but you mention how moving the camera with the right stick feels weird in Pikmin 1. That's kind of understandable though because right stick camera control was only added in the switch port of the game because that has really become the standard of camera control. In the original (and wii port) you could only move the camera by snapping the camera behind Olimar with the L trigger (z on wii). Changing camera zoom and orientation was mapped to the d-pad.
Also talking about the glitchyness of Pikmin 1, I would be remiss to not mention how many glitches they fixed in the Switch Port. GameCube and especially wii port had way more glitches. It is honestly the best aspect of the Switch Port.
Actually in Pikmin 2 the blue Pikmin CAN throw drowning Pikmin back to the surface. But it’s rare to see that when the Pikmin are ACTUALLY GOOD at avoiding water in Pikmin 2.

GameCube wasn't a failed console. 😐 It just didn't sell as well as the other competitors. It was still wildly popular.
I love the GameCube, but in terms of sales it’s one of Nintendo’s worst selling consoles

I love Scott, he was a big inspiration into making content. I hope it’s at least original, because in the past it was difficult for my to find that balance 😅

Cool video! I agree with all the points you made about the game, and the pacing was pretty good too. I'm wondering if maybe you're forcing your voice to a higher pitch? If so, it might pay off to go closer to your natural voice, the volume is perfect though. Hope you make more soon
This is for the most part my natural voice, the only thing I really do is make myself louder and or try to sound more excited as that imo works better for my videos
