Gonna be honest Giant Breadbug is unironically harder than the Emperor Bulblax. Aside from just being invincible if you get unlucky or don't plan well and run out of both purples and corpses, it's not very hard for it to make off with your pikmin if you get greedy and try to stop it right in front of it's nest.

Is there a good way to beat bulblax I just didn't see? So far man at legs was the easiest boss for me but bulblax got about 20 or so of my pikmin in 1 attack.
@@darcidious99 that has got to be the most bizarre comment I've ever read. Man-at-legs is known for DECIMATING entire armies while emperor bulblax is just "spam purples for ten seconds and you win". It's one of few bosses that are susceptible to being stunned.

My older sister used to lock me in the room with her and play games like resident evil and when the characters were being bitten, she would convulse, cry, and scream in order to scare me. I learned when I was older it was so that id be too scared to sleep by myself because she was too scared to sleep alone and wanted me to sleep in her room. I was around 6 and she was 13/14. Just cruel and sadistic. One of the many things she did.

Good god, the Pikmin 2 deathless challenge. I've done it. TWICE. And I have no idea why, since it broke my mind the first time round. And part of me is still tempted to do it a third time. To anyone wondering, NO, I would not recommend doing it. Unless you're a masochist like I am. I remember spending about 40 minutes on both the Pileated Snagret and Crawbster alone (each). ... And then proceeded to do them both zero-death on a totally casual run where I wasn't even trying to do zero death. Fun. And, let's be honest, does ANYONE like Dream Den sublevel 4? ANYONE?! You can call me insane but I have completed the deathless challenge for Pikmin 1 and 2 multiple times! It was insane but incredibly satisfying to complete.
I actually managed a deathless run of Pikmin 2 accidentally. Basically, I was rather careful on the overworld and when it came to caves, barring a couple of floors in certain caves, took advantage that nearly nothing goes to the spawn area and used a captain to punch everything to death. No time limit in the caves made this a constant thing and honestly, the game became incredibly tedious since there was nothing STOPPING me from doing it this way.
@@Creature_of_the_Land I tricked the larval bulborbs into grouping into a wall and stop the queen from making anymore then after I killed her I punched all the larva to death. Does that count?
@@shrimpyalfredo3933 So it turns out the Water Wraith can't do corners. So you take one captain and all your pikmin and mash him into a corner using the C stick to command the pikmin to mash up with him, then you use the other captain to run around and punch things. This will lead to the water wraith doing donuts, unable to get into the corner, and since it's rollers literally kill ANYTHING, anything you haven't punched to death it will crush to death. The only floor you don't really need to do this on are the floors with bulbmin (the reason you only bring 70-80 blue pikmin with you) as you want to kill the bulbmin leader and end up with about 20-30 bulbmin who will let you basically speed-run all the hazards on a floor before the wraith even shows up.

A neat tip with the water wraith is that bitter spray effects it even on early floors, if timed correctly its actually possible to break the wraiths wheels before it fully lands, leaving it in a totally harmless fleeing state, however its not easy to duplicate and it frequently just survives the repeated pepper spray with rollers intact.
About what you said at 11:28 it IS possible to beat Pikmin 2 with no treasures, Jinjo Vitis did it while also killing all of his Pikmin at the end of each day in his Extinction challenge.

The reason it felt like you need different amounts for sprays is due to the red berries growing in flowers in a group of 2-3. The purple ones only ever have 1 flower to pick from

Oh man, UA-cam randomly reccomended me this video today. Watching someone else play through Pikmin 2 Deathless is quite fun, considering I usually play through the base game and mods deathless. Imo, you don't need more then like 15 purples in vanilla Pikmin 2 for all caves, those are more then enough to cheese every single enemy and boss
You've done this, and here I am not finishing the game 100% when all that's left is the final dungeon and I believe nothing else. I may also need to do that weight that takes 100 purple pikmin. And it's been years, and I probably won't do it anytime soon.
Lmao this is just how I played the game back when I was 9. Had the whole ign game guide printed out next to me (literally the whole thing, it was a big stack of paper) and would restart whenever I lost a single pikmin. Still my favorite game from my childhood, pikmin 2 supremacy

I speedran pikmin 2 treasureless twice. I have videos on both my twitch and youtube. Just caught my attention when you mentioned it early in the video. Havnt finished the video yet, but I'm loving it so far!
Actually, the best time to attack both species snagrets is when they come out of the ground beak first. You can attack that beak animation and you with purples and red spray kill them almost instantly.
I recently started playing Pikmin 2 on Switch and there's a way more safe deathless strat for caves (except for you-know-what's castle). ...just punch enemies to death. Literally just leave your Pikmin at the start of the floor and punch absolutely everything you can to death. And this strat only gets easier once you get the suit upgrades and punchy glove. Even if you're just playing the game normally, I'd say punching everything to death until everything dies is the most effective and safe strat.
punching everything to death is a little too slow/boring for my taste but i’ll usually use a captain to lure enemies away from treasure or just use white pikmin to run past everything
@@F1lters I can understand it being slow but TBH I don't mind. I'm the kind of gamer who adores cheese strats of any flavor, be it the swiss of sequence breaking or the cheddar of stalling out/manipulating enemies.
Honestly, the fact that punching is such an overwhelmingly effective strat, and there's literally no penalty for it has always been the reason why I never want to do Pikmin 2 challenge runs, as they often fall into the trapping of punching being better then dealing with the challenge's restrictions
Personally whenever I play this game, I will purposefully never use purple pikmin in fights, or ever bring them in caves. They're way too ridiculously OP, and it feels like it sucks the fun and challenge out of the game to abuse them
The way I see it, I just use what purples the game gives me but save half I get at base the rest I use with my main force since purples are risky to use as they are your super soldiers no need to waste them on something that will kill them as the enemy die

17:05 you shoulda actually got this flint beetle. After you unlock the ultra spicy spray flint beetles drop spray nectar on their third hit. Effectively giving you two free sprays if you do the exploit
I remember doing this except I reset the entire save file after every death. It took me a whole summer month of on-and-off play a few years ago. The worst part is that most of the resets were in the Wistful Wild.
Not really, most current generation Pikmin fans were introduced to the series through the announcement of Pikmin 4 and most older generation Pikmin fans were into the series before anyone even heard of chuggaaconroy. In fact back when chuggaa let's played Pikmin 1 and 2, Pikmin fans who had actually played the games would often make fun of or make jokes about the people who just watched chuggaaconroy since these people would come into comment sections on Pikmin videos (despite most not having played the games and instead just getting all of their Pikmin knowledge from watching chuggaaconroy) and annoy everyone by spamming chuggaa references, so much to the point where chuggaa himself even became aware of this and regretted coming up with some of the things his fans would constantly spam like "Steve".

If I remember correctly the dig speed is based on the attack multiplier so no whites are not fast diggers. They do move faster as well which is used in carrying stuff

I had Pikmin 1 as a kid. All I did was run around with my Pikmin. I did nothing to progress the game. Then I accidentally got some of them killed and got so sad about it. I loved the Pikmin so much and hated that they died so easily. I quit and never played the game again. I think I still have it somewhere lol. I did deathless a few years ago. Not because I liked the challenge, but because I felt bad for the Pikmin.
Purple Pikmin are your so precious life savers in the nightmare that is Pikmin 2.
If they weren't so overpowered, Pikmin 2 may simply not be so bearable for many.

Oh man, UA-cam randomly reccomended me this video today. Watching someone else play through Pikmin 2 Deathless is quite fun, considering I usually play through the base game and mods deathless. Imo, you don't need more then like 15 purples in vanilla Pikmin 2 for all caves, those are more then enough to cheese every single enemy and boss

Lmao this is just how I played the game back when I was 9. Had the whole ign game guide printed out next to me (literally the whole thing, it was a big stack of paper) and would restart whenever I lost a single pikmin. Still my favorite game from my childhood, pikmin 2 supremacy
man that takes me back, i remember struggling on a metroid ds game and asking my dad for help, and since he didn’t know how games worked he printed out a like 50 page guide for the game, good times

Actually, the best time to attack both species snagrets is when they come out of the ground beak first. You can attack that beak animation and you with purples and red spray kill them almost instantly.

I recently started playing Pikmin 2 on Switch and there's a way more safe deathless strat for caves (except for you-know-what's castle).
...just punch enemies to death. Literally just leave your Pikmin at the start of the floor and punch absolutely everything you can to death. And this strat only gets easier once you get the suit upgrades and punchy glove. Even if you're just playing the game normally, I'd say punching everything to death until everything dies is the most effective and safe strat.
punching everything to death is a little too slow/boring for my taste but i’ll usually use a captain to lure enemies away from treasure or just use white pikmin to run past everything
@@F1lters I can understand it being slow but TBH I don't mind. I'm the kind of gamer who adores cheese strats of any flavor, be it the swiss of sequence breaking or the cheddar of stalling out/manipulating enemies.
Honestly, the fact that punching is such an overwhelmingly effective strat, and there's literally no penalty for it has always been the reason why I never want to do Pikmin 2 challenge runs, as they often fall into the trapping of punching being better then dealing with the challenge's restrictions
Personally whenever I play this game, I will purposefully never use purple pikmin in fights, or ever bring them in caves. They're way too ridiculously OP, and it feels like it sucks the fun and challenge out of the game to abuse them
The way I see it, I just use what purples the game gives me but save half I get at base the rest I use with my main force since purples are risky to use as they are your super soldiers no need to waste them on something that will kill them as the enemy die
I love how knowledgeable you are on pikmin like it’s so interesting hearing you out on all that even though I’ve only played the first pikmin so far
Also nice clash of clans reference I often think of the same comparison do to having so many troops on screen helping with different parts of the area

17:05 you shoulda actually got this flint beetle. After you unlock the ultra spicy spray flint beetles drop spray nectar on their third hit. Effectively giving you two free sprays if you do the exploit

I remember doing this except I reset the entire save file after every death. It took me a whole summer month of on-and-off play a few years ago. The worst part is that most of the resets were in the Wistful Wild.

Not really, most current generation Pikmin fans were introduced to the series through the announcement of Pikmin 4 and most older generation Pikmin fans were into the series before anyone even heard of chuggaaconroy. In fact back when chuggaa let's played Pikmin 1 and 2, Pikmin fans who had actually played the games would often make fun of or make jokes about the people who just watched chuggaaconroy since these people would come into comment sections on Pikmin videos (despite most not having played the games and instead just getting all of their Pikmin knowledge from watching chuggaaconroy) and annoy everyone by spamming chuggaa references, so much to the point where chuggaa himself even became aware of this and regretted coming up with some of the things his fans would constantly spam like "Steve".

I did this over a decade ago cause I felt bad when pikmin died. I'd beaten the game once without really resetting, but i wanted to beat it again and give them a better life. I hope their doing well out there on my memory card. Cant wait to watch this, so much nostalgia.
White pikmin in pikmin 2 can dig faster too ,and they do a lot of damage when eaten ,but their strenght multiplier is lower
If I remember correctly the dig speed is based on the attack multiplier so no whites are not fast diggers. They do move faster as well which is used in carrying stuff
You gotta love how this game does everything in its power to make it so it’s almost impossible to do a deathless run for this game :p

You have suffered far too much for this little recognision. The first pikmin video in a while I watched from beginning to end really shows the amusement this video was.
I had Pikmin 1 as a kid. All I did was run around with my Pikmin. I did nothing to progress the game. Then I accidentally got some of them killed and got so sad about it. I loved the Pikmin so much and hated that they died so easily. I quit and never played the game again. I think I still have it somewhere lol. Anyway, I say all of this to express my gratitude at you not allowing any Pikmin to come to harm.
