  • Jo Frost has made a career out of helping families with out-of-control kids and similar issues. `Family Matters' has a similar theme but takes a different route than Frost's previous efforts. Rather than exclusively going into the families' homes to help fix them, Frost visits the homes before inviting the families into the studio on this daytime talk show. Each episode features two families with different problems who seek Frost's help. After going into the families' homes to see firsthand the challenges tearing them apart, the families head into the studio, where Frost provides resolutions to the problems in her typical no-nonsense style.

I do like this format, except I'd still really like to see the follow up in the home and how the parents did with the suggestions, the tweeking, etc. I've always found that found really eye-opening and helpful as well. I've learned so much from SuperNanny!

I love this format. This conversations are so revealing. And for once its an approach that centers around parenting and what the parents did wrong. Not how bad the child behaves.
Im sorry but the 1st boy is just a babied, bored and missunderstood kid. He diesnt hear a single nice word, if he would behaves no one would talk to him, so why should he? He isnt dressing himself, he is in diapers, he sits in front if the tv, while everyone else is at the table, he drinks from a sippy cup.

I love Supernanny, the Supernanny format, and seeing the suggestions in action. However, this is just like sitting in a couple’s counseling session, less about kids, more about adult issues, and easy to turn the channel. We have enough talk shows.

Yes, they can put the breakable things away and make the home more child friendly, but the fact remained that this child’s behavior was destructive and dysfunctional. I hope they got him tested for disabilities and took things from there.

@@RicheeBe There’s no way you can know that from watching a short video. He should have been tested to rule out disabilities. That way, you know for sure and can formulate a plan that meets his needs.

I agree..could just be the tension in the household to be more perfect that's setting the kid off.
Give him more positive attention and see if it makes a positive difference?

@@lessehead He's hyper maybe? He could be hyperactive, perhaps. I mean, hyperactive kids are destructive sometimes.

"Its like something takes over him" mom says about Kyle's tantrums. We see Kyle receives constant attention whether good or bad and zero rules and diclipline. Saying and enforcing No is different than screaming at a child. In spite of Chris & Carrie's issues and squabbles they should be able to put it behind them and focus on family life. Kyle is the monster they have created. Kyle is becoming the norm in modern parenting where parents say "I hate to see him cry" and "I'm worried if I discipline him, he won't love me" statements. Put the breakables away for a couple years, pay positive attention to your child and give him a timeout when he acts up and have patience.

Idk, certain things are okay to let go of but I'm good with maintaining a nice house.

The pink shirt mother plays a good game of yes, but;; without actually using those words. There's a good reason and justification for everything, including dragging her children.
As for the perfectionist couple - they are not living in any reality in which they are willing to accept a child.
    Wow! They deserve each other.

Ignore that child and take away privileges from him. He is a little brat.

That baby is 14 months old. No way shoud she be so mean to him. He has no clue why she is being so mean. Husband shoukd not be sleeping in Adam's room. A 14 month old being treated so cruely.

He needs a Black Grandma, she'd have all these kids together in less than 3 days tops! Then she'd check the parents next!
