Informative & ASMR. The Citristip definitely has the gloop factor! Pretty neat how two coats just peeled the bed liner right off.
Funny enough I'm potentially picking up a TJ and am also going to OKC this month. The TJ in question has a bed liner paint job which I think looks awful now with age so this is a great video and good to know!
Let me know if you’d like this door! I have no use for it
Good info here! Thanks bunches and loads!
Just a heads up if you break the seal on the liner before using the citrus stripper it works great! Just grab a thin scraper and gently knock some of the texture off to allow the stripper to get into it and it works much better
Nice tip! Thanks for sharing
Seems like a coat of Citristrip to knock off the top layer followed by the Bauer tool will get you down to bare metal.
Thanks for the video. I've got some bed liner to remove from the inside of an aluminum boat. The CitrisStrip is impressive!
"In the interest of fairness" it would have been better to NOT use the plastic wrap when using the TuffStrip, since that is not what the instructions say to do. Maybe it needs air to do it's job?
Right on thanks
I made the mistake of raptor lining my truck. Red and black, the black still looks great but the flame red has turned pink. Its 3 and a half years old. Just want to go back with regular paint now.
That’s how I’m feeling about my bedliner on my Jeep. It still looks decent, but nothing beats a well done automotive paint job
i just bought a motorcycle and the tank is coated in it if i do this will it fuck up the paint underneath?
Definitely since it’s paint stripper.
Ronsonal lighter fluid is the go to .. sticker adhesive remover .. works like a charm in any sticky mess
Interesting! Thanks for the watch!
I love the Paint stripping chemicals being applied and no p. P. E being worn to protect yourself and tissue from being eaten by the strippers.
Well this settles it. Never using bedliner lol
The problem I got is I want to remove bed liner off of my truck’s original paint because the previous owner covered up a beutiful navy blue paint job
Man, I’m not sure if that’s doable while salvaging the original paint…
@@sweeneyoffroad exactly. So far though the bed liner has actually been wearing off and you can see the original paint underneath like a really bad patina
@spearmintaltoids9889 I'm pretty much in the same boat man. Bought a 72k mile 03 1500hd Silverado that the previous owner half-@$$ bedlined the entire thing. I'm roughly 50% done removing it all. Started with an orbital sander on the hood, front fenders & driver door. Then tried the Citristrip on the front passenger door, which I liked better cause 15-25mins was enough to remove the bedliner while keeping the paint underneath mostly intact. A 3000 psi pressure washer w/ a 30° nozzle did slow but good work on my tailgate. Automotive Goo Gone showed promising results. Just got the back doors, roof, and the rest of the bed and she'll be ready to be sent to the paint shop
well, i don't wear crocks. so, i guess I'll move on to another channel.
Wth is that supposed to mean?
