Elle fut refusée, et, bien sûr, très vexée. Car depuis, cette remarquable chanteuse, l'une des plus grandes du siècle, est devenue célèbre, partout. On dit qu'elle a refusé toutes les propositions qui lui furent faites après, à l'opéra de Paris. Gabriel en fut marri. Trop tard !
