I had exactly the same problem. Don't bother taking the bumper off ect. it's coming in through the rear light cluster seal. Water runs off the tailgate, around the outside, behind the light cluster and straight into the boot. I ended up putting sealant on mine to fix it, which I know will make changing the bulbs harder, but at least my boot / back seat is bone dry now.
Hi bud! Thanks for the video, it hit the nail on the head me thinks for my water ingress issue! Did you remove the whole of the boot seal or just pull it away from the areas it had degraded?? Thanks!
Similar problem on my mk6, is going to check air vents this week, but I've a feeling it could also be my boot rubber seal as there's moisture underneath, whereabouts did you source this please (uk also) as I've had a quick gander but not seen a decent one, also how is the condensation now, if you get any, thanks
Bedankt voor de video 🦾🤙🖐️🦾🦾🦾✔️✅🤛, al dat werk voor niks maar ja, had ook wat water in de kofferbak, morgen eerst die seal'' maar eens nakijken (golf 4.,)
Mines leaking in only on right hand side (drivers side) lift up carpet its damp..but doesnt the wash bottle pipe run that side as well ??? wondering if coming in through the light will take out light n reseal the light n try that first then go from there as this looks a nightmare to fix tbh...
It was very helpful mate. Thank you so much for providing the information. It worked for me

Nice one
My Seat Leon 5F has the same leakage and never thought of that seal
No harm in pulling it off and having a look! Nice quick check, hopefully it works for you 🤞

Yes mate could be lots of different things, fortunately for me it was an easy fix after all the messing around
What was this in end mate
How did you repair it? Change for new boot seal, or only repair? Ty
Just repaired the current one, cleaned off the old sealant and ran some leak sealant around it, never had an issue!
@@overrungarage How can i take the boot seal down? xD
