Learn the basics of guitar and a simple song in these guitar lessons for kids from Center Stage Guitar Academy.
Guitar For Kids is a special package of lessons designed specifically for children ages 6-11 years old. The 24 lesson course teaches kids the fundamentals of music through the guitar. wow, I gave a guitar to my 8 years old daughter two days ago for her Birthday... she watch this sample with me and she tried for the first time her guitar, you should see her eyes shining when she got the 3 notes she was so happy and proud... she ran to her mother to show and said look mama I learn my first guitar song! (hehe I couldn't recognize the song because it was only 3 notes... but it was so cute to see her Happy like that!

This is unexpected but a nice surprise - first time i'm learning to read music notes from a video. Pleased about that. From your twinkle twinkle little star guitar tutorial. Too bad I haven't seen piano tutorials teach you how to read sheet music (not that I started on nursery rhymes on that).
Thought yours already seemed like a promising tutorial to begin with, especially as I wanted it to be simple enough for my 8 yo to follow.

It is the same melody, yes Hot Cross Buns and Three Blind Mice are the same
@@CenterStageGuitar starting with the open string four times on the second part indicate that this is Hot Cross Buns - ("One a Penny, Two a Penny").
If you were to play the "See how they run" part from Three Blind Mice, this would be a different melody, so yes this is Hot Cross Buns.

I think for kids its much easier to start with a pick and move into finger picking later
