I read a Newsweek article today which was claiming that Ukraine was making progress in Kursk because they'd captured multiple villages... which turned out to be the failed attack in the Glushkovo direction. It's just embarrassing at this point.
embarrassing for AFU or Newsweek?
Youre thinking of Russian media talking about their counter-offensive in Kursk. Ukraine is sitting on lots of villages for a while now. If you think counter-invasion was in the cards watching in feb 2022 than youre probably FSB and knew how poor Russian chain of command was. A lot of leaders who can only hear adulation and no criticism removes all pragmatism all together and that makes a poor commander in chief/president. Wants credit for everything and criticism for nothing. Putin and Netanyahu are two peas in a pod in that respect not just in eyes of ICC/IJC
in the last 4 days ukraine lost 30% of the Kursk territory and more territory in the east

The Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for the survival of their nation and their way of living. Russia attacked Ukraine, and Russia can stop fighting today if they wanted to, and the war would be over.
This war is terrible.
Agree 💯😮😮😮
like every war in the world
Every war is terrible, but the wars of attrition are particularly terrible.
Lots of people die for small advances
In the Finnish language, "terrible" is translated to "kamala". Whose White House could easily have made this civil war, that started in 2014, end instead of escalating with Russian intervention.
Terrible is the definition of war.
Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021: Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.
If you write such a book, it must include that Western establishment media has lied to the people from the beginning regarding Ukraine, including all of the facts you have stated and more. Even when it is utterly ridiculous, e.g., Russia repeatedly shelling the nuclear power plant that its own troops occupied, Russia sabotaged its own gas pipelines, Russia shelled the damn that its own troops occupied. These were just some of the bigger whoppers that the Western media repeated almost verbatim from narratives given to it by the government. The level of dishonesty by Western media could be a study in itself.

Hello greetings from Singapore. Yes, due to global warming, rainy season in the Philippines where I was growing rice on my field, was almost 2 months late this year. It was supposed to be June but the rain came only in August.
Ukraine goes full in while the morale and soldiers are more and more tired, the citizens are more and more divided , the west have less and less cards in a sleeve.
Reminder of what Putin said : we havent even started doing something.
Can someone correct me, did Russia made some sanctions for the west? I didnt hear about it all. It looks like the damage already is good, but could happen if Russia will stop sending resources to the west and goes half to itself and half to BRICS?
Correct, it is still considered a SMO. Not war.
Russia isn’t at full mobilization. The Ukraines are, and they have a manpower shortage.
The only real damage would probably be refusing to sell the neon that AMSL uses to manufacture chips. Russia controls a crucial part of that supply chain.
Besides that, Rosatom is ahead of even China in nuclear research, and preventing them from sharing R&D could halt the world's nuclear programs for ~2 years.
Outside of that Russia's involvement in the economy isn't diverse enough yet to have an impact.
China, on the other hand...
They haven't do that.
But they simply don't have the capability and gear to train or equip them anyway.
That is before the political fallout.
People are not stupid. And the conflict exhausted Ukrainians to the breaking point. Not like people don't realize their economy is currently totally dependent on aid money.
Russia has lost 70% of it's pre war equipment confirmed by satellite images of Russian bases.
8:43 This is completely wrong. The offensive has already opened supply routes bypassing the river, and now, in fact, the supply goes through Korenevo-Vishnevka-Komarovka towards Glushkovo, this is in addition to the pontoon bridges. And the supply of the offensive now goes through Korenevo and Snagost. Let me remind you that the bridges over the Sejm River were destroyed by Ukraine, if they are not lying to us. So the minimum program (removing the threat to the Glushkovsky district) of this offensive has already been completed by the Russians.
Ukraine by attacking in the Kursk region not only took their best troops, they also took the only troops capable of counterattacking. This is allowing the Russians to by pass fortified areas knowing they are not a threat and will be mopped up later. Before they had to reduce each stronghold before getting too far ahead. This is why the Russian offense is accelerating.
Brilliant analysis 👍

You could have looked it up: 400 and 1,700 yards. That is nothing, and anyone in those buildings is being watched and will be an ATGM up their ass if they show any morement. The Russisan atgm has a range of 10,000 meters. Oh, and there are tanks also just waiting for a chance. Not quite the range but well out range the snipers. In fact would hear earlier in the war about how worthless Javelins were because the tanks outranged the Javelins and the crews kept on being killed before they were in range.
@arostwocents
How'd that work out for the Uke Nazi snipers in the Artemovsk cauldron?
Not even the best, large-caliber rifles are capable of CONSISTENTLY hitting the target over 1500 meters. They MAY hit a target over 2000 meters, some are even capable of hitting it over 3000 meters, but that requires ideal circumstances and a standing target, therefore not even the best sniper is able to hit targets at those ranges consistently. We know only about a handful of successful shots over 1500 meters throughout the history of sniping, and since discovering a sniper's position has became a lot more easier with the advent of FLIR cameras and drones, extremely long range sniper kills will become even more of an exception, than the norm.
On top of that, rifles capable of shooting relatively accurately at such ranges are extremely expensive (10-20K USD, depending on the type, which means you can arm more than a squad of soldiers with assault rifles and GPMGs for a price of a single large-calibre sniper rifle) and extremely heavy, making relocation a pain in the arse. And if your position is discovered by the enemy, then Lord have mercy on you, because they won't. 20, 23 and 30mm autocannons, tank guns, ATGMs, artillery and drone strikes... they'll throw in whatever it takes to kill you, or at least to suppress you.
@@IGLArocknroll And large caliber rifles are not as acurate as a smaller caliber. They can hit big targests like trucks but hitting a person is much less likely than a standard sniper rifle. The problem is that need to reduce the recoil to allow an individul so survive it.

The amount of territory is far less important than the value of the territory captured and the territory in Dombass is far more valuable then the territory in Kursk.
So Russian territory in Kursk is not important? Interesting…
@adrianobanak2824 not a load of fields. There's nothing militarily or economically important about it. Yet, the Donbass is Ukraine's energy hub. Kurakhove is a key part of Ukraine's limited remaining energy supply.
@@adrianobanak2824I didn't say unimportant, I said less important strategically. A 10 square km patch of grass in Kursk is less important than 500 square meters of fortifications in Dombass.
@@whatisourchildrenlearning Is that an admission of putin starting the war to gain territory for his new empire?

Most nato equip don't work on muddy field. And many electronics devices (drones esp) would be less effective in cold winter.
The rainy season won't help, even if Russia pauses its offensive, they'll still carry out round-the-clock shelling and bombing, decimating the AFU manpower. Now some people might say that at least Ukraine could use the pause to build new defensive works, at the front, further back, etc, but the mud will make digging defences as difficult as it'd make advancing across it.
There are no major settlements between zaporizhia city and kramatosk, this war is closer to ending than maps suggest.
It appears Russia has imposed a war of attrition across a wide front. A war of attrition does not favor Ukraine. With respect to Kursk it should be remembered that offensive warfare usually is more costly in material and manpower, so an offensive increases the attrition, on both sides, but particularly so on the offensive side. I think the Russians are better situated to sustain a war of attrition and Ukraine risks getting to the end of its manpower string. NATO can maintain logistical supplies to Ukraine, but it can't help with manpower, unless it decides to directly enter the war. It will be interesting to see how things go as we go into winter.
Depends how you look at it, doesn't it? Russia faces 35 nations. If they get serious what chance does Russia have? None. Unless we 'look' further afield and Russia gets som serious allies. North Korea, Iran.. who else? Not much but could be more. Let's say China and India step in well then the calculus changes doesn't it? The thing could go on eternally. Another 100 years war. Both sides for manpower could use surrogates. Manpower in fact for all the furore I do believe is becoming less important no more because drones take the place of men.

@@ShadowBlack-vh5edDemilitarization of Russia? It has lost 75% of it's pre war equipment while Ukraine got lots of new western equipment...
@BLACKLABEL405
Did NATO ever buy you guys new toilets?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
the fact that Ukraine is literally dragging civilians off the streets and sending them to the front is a clear indication of the stage that this war is at, and sadly by now Ukraine is completely devastated in every area. NATO has literally thrown everything they have in this war, and still by next year the Donbas which is Ukraine's richest land will be part of Russia and there is nothing anybody can do to change that. But yes, I guess spending 20 years in Afghanistan only to run after leaving millions in equipment shows how powerful someone is.
@@SteveHarris-q1m Russia is not snatching people off the streets only because there are 3 times more of them than Ukrainians. There is till plenty of fools and poor people willing to fight. Also....500 000 of military aged men already escaped from Russia in autumn of 2022. NATO has not thrown everything they got, that is a lie.
And please, don't tell me you are comparing Afganistan and Ukraine...those 2 wars can not be compared. For 1.) Afganistan is 12 000 km from USA...logistics alone are huge challenge at that distance. Ukraine and Russia have direct border. 2.) Afganistan is 80% high mountains, Ukraine is 95% flat. To fight in such a high mountains full of caverns, where enemy can easily hide is much, much harder than attack flat land like Ukraine.
Putin moaning nonstop about Nato and US long range weapons 🤡 😂
lifting the ban on long- range missles would not be a big game changer in this war, the russians have already moved important military equipment far behind the front line
As opposed to the US and UK talking a good game and then completely bottling it when Putin told them what the consequences would be?
Who moans is those running the failed show.
Weren't you the guys crying about Abrams,Leopards,Challengers,F-16s and now Long range weapons? I thought Ukraine was winning
