The British and Ukrainians do not have the technology or training to do this. They need American technical expertise to do so. The Russian advance towards Pokrovsk have mostly stopped because of Ukrainian Reinforcements. But these reinforcements are actually soldiers from different fronts so these are more like rotation rather then reinforcements. But this strategy is coming at a huge cost to Ukraine because their other front have started to weaken. This has also given Russia ample time to secure its flanks in Pokrovsk direction to counter any surprise Ukrainian attack on its supply line that is why Russia is moving southwards of Pokrovsk to secure its Flanks and to attack Pokrovsk from multiple direction because attacking Pokrovsk head on will be a huge cost to Russians
I 've said it as well, the Russians stopped racing to Pokrovsk itself because they want to secure the flanks first. They 've been very careful with their flanks as far as I 've followed this conflict, it works well for them, so why change it?

The staggering Ukrainian troops that have died has exacerbated a severe population problem in Ukraine, which was already battling a plunging population before the conflict. The country’s population had already dropped some 8 million in the two decades from 2001 to 2022, the WSJ reported. The population was approximately 40 million at the beginning of 2022, before Russia SMO in February. In addition to those who have been killed in the conflict, more than 6 million Ukrainians have also fled the under-attack nation, according to the United Nations. Coupled with Russia’s liberation of Ukrainian land during the conflict, the total population on Kyiv-controlled territory has now plunged to between 25 million and 27 million (actually 18 million), according to previously undisclosed Ukrainian government estimates reported by the WSJ. Experts fear this could have disastrous, long-term effects on the future of Ukraine. “Demographics is a priority for Russia, and they want to use Ukraine and its people to consolidate the Slavic core of Russia,” Ivan Krastev, a Bulgarian-born political scientist told the WSJ of the Russian president. “But for Ukraine, the dilemma is existential: How many people can you lose in a war before losing your future?” Ukraine’s birthrate has also hit a record low, which is one of the main reasons President Volodymyr Zelensky has declined to marshal men in the 18 to 25 age group, according to Ukrainian officials. The average age for Ukrainian troops is 43, according to estimates provided by the military and government cited by the WSJ. Meanwhile, for those left in the war-torn country, the Russian onslaught has made life extremely difficult. Russian missile and drone attacks have wiped out swaths of Ukraine’s energy grid, which could force even more people to flee this winter. But as the battle rages on, Zelensky is still begging Western allies to speed up weapons shipments. About half of Ukraine’s brigades in the east are not properly equipped, which allows Russia to gain ground in the region, Zelensky said during an interview with CNN. “So you lose a lot of people. You lose people because they are not in armed vehicles,” he told the network. “We need 14 brigades to be ready. Until now … from these packages we didn’t equip even four.”
The narrative 4.35 is for Mirnograd being the next RU stop but I do not understand why this is to be taken as given; is there no clear pathway to Pokrovsk?😢
Weeb is always listing different options that RUAF have and it could just be that they pursue all of them until AFU break in one place and this is fully exploited. That said, those options are not all alike, geography and supply routes mean that some of them make more sense than others.
Prokrovsk is a logistics hub and cross roads. It stopped being a logistics hub when the people were evacuated and electric power was cut. The roads are now under artillery control. Russia doesn't necessarily have to take it. They can continue creating salients through Donbas forcing Ukraine to withdraw from fortified positions including Pokrovsk. Ukraine no longer has the forces to defend the entire front.

They do use Russian flags. I haven't seen a Soviet flag once, so not sure what you're talking about. They do use flags that are linked to their battalion or region on occasions, are you confusing 1 of those with the Soviet flag?
63% of Russians still have loyalty to the old socialist system with many Russians regretting the dissolution of the USSR . The soviet victory banner flag has been flown in many recently occupied locations & government buildings during the Ukraine/Russia war.
It's complicated. Some use the flag to honor WWII vets and admire the accomplishments of their grandfathers then........ Others use it as they see, more so many federation nations, as "good times gone by". They still have to push back on Kharkiv. Although during the Ukrainian offensive Russia just withdrew from that region to lines they could defend.
Wren what is your opinion of the west firing long range missiles deep into Russian territory? Do you think that my country the United States will do so? It also appears that the British are going ahead with the plan. However, they need American approval seeing that they need U.S. satellites to map and input the coordinates on targets inside Russia proper. The British and Ukrainians do not have the technology or training to do this. They need American technical expertise to do so. For America to do this it would put us into direct odds with the Russians. Russia would not intervene us directly. But we have military personnel all over the dang globe. Russia arming 3rd parties, that hate the crap out of us’ with weapons is. Very high possibility.

WHAT!?? but... didn't they suppose to win any moment now....😉?

Dachas ...... areas of small cottages etc with gardens where people who live in apartments in towns and cities go at weekends and also grow some food.
How's Pokrovsk looking, Weeb?
Everyone who does not understand the Kursk offensive needs to understand that Elensky knows full well that his offensive would fail. That's not why he did it. He did it to draw NATO into direct conflict with Russia as he does not want to be seen as the clown who led Ukraine to this catastrophe. He's banking on NATO and American and European Taxpayer ignorance and stupidity to "bail him out".

Is Donetsk city still in conventional artillery range?
“But for Ukraine, the dilemma is existential: How many people can you lose in a war before losing your future?”
Ukraine’s birthrate has also hit a record low, which is one of the main reasons President Volodymyr Zelensky has declined to marshal men in the 18 to 25 age group, according to Ukrainian officials.

They do use flags that are linked to their battalion or region on occasions, are you confusing 1 of those with the Soviet flag?
some Ukrainians pledge loyalty to Soviet Union
Flag is a Russian Unit flag used in battle.
No doubt there was more available capital with a common $$ pool, but RU has risen to the 5th largest economy in the world since 2022, so you're seeing it less and less by common people.
