  • This is exactly how to take out and put back a transfer case for any four wheel drive vehicle. It is pretty easy and an essential thing to know how to do on your 4x4 truck! The truck in the video is a 2005 Ford F-150 with a 5.4L 3v but it all applies to basically any 4x4 truck but the sizes and torque settings will be different model to model. Man you are Awesome just got under the Ford F250 been parked for 2.years becuae of leak on transmission and no time to work on it found that the company that rebuilt the transmission had not connected the 4 wheel drive connector and multiple other items but the best thing they did not put any of the 6 bolts back in the 4x4 transfer case thank god i did not drive it any where so only thing they did was use some blue gasket crap that kept it from leaking till i had it parked not using it but found no gasket and not a single bolt that connect the two together will post photos later have to find the bolts you said 13 mm but what would be the thread and length on them? But enough Yhank you ao much for making Video😮

    Hi Ryan. I was watching your break in oil change on a new car. Lots of good information there. I recently got a 4runner with 5k miles on it from dealership. I doubt they did anything on regards to break in oil changes. I plan to do one today or tomorrow. Maybe another one at 6k miles. What would you recommend?

    Question, will the transmission need to be serviced as well ?

    • @2carpros

      Depends on the condition of the transmission. I and doing an R&R video on that so make sure you are subbed so you don't miss it. Thanks for watching!

      Same! Mine in glued to the transmission. I hung on it with all my weight, jacked it up till it hit the body off the truck, but it with a hammer, and used a putty knife with hammer…. Still won’t separate. I can’t even get my putty knife in between them.

    Why didn't you just remove the transfer case along with the transmission all at once...
    Because now you're going to attach the transfer case on to the transmission before you put it up.
    And what's with the rubber glove!?
    A little grease is not going to hurt your fingers

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  10 днів тому

      Because it is heavier and lopsided that way
      No, I put the transmission back first then the transfer case
      They are nitrile and I like them
      I'm not worried about grease causing me physical pain, I just don't like washing my hands 900 times throughout the day

    This could be future helpful info,But i have an issue of grinding but I've ruled out the iwe. The grinding seems to come from the front differential. My question is, does the front drive shaft and differential always turn even if 4 wheel drive is not engaged? The grinding is most noticeable when at lower speed below 30. I haven't nailed where the noise is originating. Just over 50 on a 2018 150
