Oh my goodness Ann!! These are absolutely amazing!! Your artistic abilities are just incredible!! I can’t wait to see these finished!! Thanks so much for sharing everything with us!!
What a great way to work with slip. I love this video. I do have a time saver for you, though. If you put your slip in a small zip loc baggie, you can cut the corner of it in order to squeeze your slip into that bottle. You can save some time and it goes in cleaner. Love your videos. I always learn something new!
Wow Ann!!! These are beautiful and such a great use of slip. There are so many ways to skin a cat, but honestly your videos, tips and ideas are awesome. Ty
All of your videos inspire me! I absolutely suck at drawing but am going to try this! Yes, they will be fantasy flowers but that's ok. Can't wait to try this!
Hi Cindy,. Good question. You have to apply it on greenware...preferably when the clay is leather hard. The issue is the shrinking of the clay. You want the clay and the slip to be shrinking together as much as possible. Thanks for watching our video 🙂. Have a great day!
Your artwork and ideas are amazing, as I've said previously said I'd love to look around in your head to see where your ideas and talent come from and how you keep coming up with more and more techniques, I'm in ore. Thankyou, and keep sharing
Brilliant! 😍 Ann, you always share such new exciting technical feathers to add to our fledging artistic wings! You make beautiful decoration look attainable even for a rank beginner like me! I am so looking forward to using this technique myself; thank you thank you thank you❣️
Can you put slip on a bone dry piece? I was afraid that the uneven drying might make cracks. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos. I’ve learned so much from you
Hi Laura. I was unsure about that too. I think you would have the best chance of the slip not cracking off as it dries at the leather hard stage, but I was surprised to see that I could do this technique with my porcelain slip right onto a bone dry porcelain piece without any cracking off. i think the brushing of the slip helped to adhere it to the clay. It also may be that porcelain is more forgiving for this. Stoneware may not be as accepting to the slip. I recommend TESTING on your bone dry clay....or just doing this at the leather hard stage.
Awesome, your work is amazing, love the directions of the flowers 😊love how you worked with the slip and how you made it, if I may ask you added nothing more than the water to bone dry clay right, I have always wanted to give slip trailing a try and seeing this video I may give it a try
Hi Isabelle - if you look on eTsy under the "sold" tab you can see them. Link to Ann's Etsy is on the main channel page - the little "E" lower right hand corner. Thanks!
I don't have access and am not as familiar with the qualities of Bmix. We will put it on our list for future possible testing. We just did a video on stoneware this week so we're wading into those waters...thanks!
Hi Cathy. As bisque is already shrunken and dried, the slip would crack off of the pot. Your best bet is leather hard greenware when slipping. Good luck!
Hi Jackie. My porcelain is the only clay I have used for this. I the two clays shrink at the same percentage, it has a good chance of not cracking off. Another tip is to try this technique with your two different clay bodies at leather hard as opposed to bone dry for a better chance of success. Give it a shot. Good luck 🙂 Thanks for watching!!
Hi Linda. I have tried to write an answer to your question three time now and for some reason, You Tube wont post it. Maybe third time is the charm. I experimented with three techniques all using slips and some capacity of underglaze with it so that upon final firing the underglaze will show through. We will post the final pieces to the community section when we get a chance if you want to see them.
Do you sign your work? Please say you do I find it really sad when I find old beautiful pottery and there's no signature don't know who made it and I would love to know who made the beautiful pottery.
I dont have as much experience with B Mix but from what I understand, you may be able to add slip dots (small amounts), but a layer of slip etc may have a tendency to crack off because the difference in moisture content. Good luck!
I just watched this again because I wanted to try it but I thought the pot was still supposed to be wet so the slip doesn’t flake off. Is this true? Thanks.
Hi Michele! It kinda depends on the clay you use. There is no problem with my porcelain I use. In the end you want your clay to be leather hard before you put this slip on. Good luck, would love to see what you come up with.
It is one of the tabs on the Little Street Pottery UA-cam channel...it may not be available on all devices but I think you should see it on a laptop or desktop. Thanks! www.youtube.com/@LittleStreetPottery/community
Geez, Ann, you take my breath away. Thank you for being so generous, yet again.

Awesome tip Billye! Thanks so much!! that way you can push the clip into the bottle easier. Thanks so much!!! thanks for watching too!!!
Another way is to push the sides of the bottle in, put to top into the slip and just suck it out. You can do this until it’s full.
That's a great way to add beautiful, flowy textures of slip trailing into the petals!
I love slip trailing. So fun.
Really enjoyed watching the "Ann Ruel's magic touch"

very pretty idea! I like it lot and will definitely try out on some of my bisque pots and bowls. Thank you very much Ann. 🙂
would love to see your results!
@@LittleStreetPottery Sure! But how to do that?

Hi Linda. Yes. I just add water to the reclaimed clay. Go for it!! Thanks for watching and have a great day!!
Amazing. I know this was 2 years ago but is this on bone dry or bisque ? ❤
🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful! I don't see the finished version under the community tab... ?
Hi Isabelle - if you look on eTsy under the "sold" tab you can see them. Link to Ann's Etsy is on the main channel page - the little "E" lower right hand corner. Thanks!
Hi 😊 thank you for sharing your work and technics. Do you add a deflocculant to your slip?
No. Just water to thin it down. Thanks.
Love your videos. Can you apply this technique to stoneware like BMix?
I don't have access and am not as familiar with the qualities of Bmix. We will put it on our list for future possible testing. We just did a video on stoneware this week so we're wading into those waters...thanks!
Thank you for your lovely video. Is that boytkd called slip land bottle? I would like to try that out.
Not heard that term - but we call it a "slip trail" bottle. Thanks.
Love the video. How do you finish the pot?? How can I see final result??
In the Community Section there are pics. Thanks.
Can you do this on bisque as well as greenware or maybe even bone dry?
Hi Cathy. As bisque is already shrunken and dried, the slip would crack off of the pot. Your best bet is leather hard greenware when slipping. Good luck!
Hey Ann, are the peices bisque fired before you drew on them with the slip or are they all greenware? Great video as always :)
Greenware is correct - thanks!
Very nice, thank you ! I couldn't find the results in the community section, is it jus that they haven't been posted yet or did I miss something ?
Not yet...getting a little backed up :)
@@LittleStreetPottery take your time !
I have to do this! Do I have to use slip from the clay body of the vase or can I use a chicolate base with a b mix slip? Both are cone 5.

Hello are these bisques?
can slip be applied to dry bmix greenware? i was always told to leave bmix clay alone once it's dry.
I dont have as much experience with B Mix but from what I understand, you may be able to add slip dots (small amounts), but a layer of slip etc may have a tendency to crack off because the difference in moisture content. Good luck!
