there is a second section to this place as well, the lift just before the boss door, if you send it up without riding on it, there is another lift hidden under it that goes down. the Fire Monk Ashes are down there. Hope that helps some people to.
This is the absolute worst catacombs. Takes forever to get through, with random traps and surprise attacks, and then you have to fight the ulcerated tree spirit with NO STAKE OF MARIKA. I don't know how they intended for people to get through this without a guide

Not underleveled just need git gud. You are a bad player. It's just recycle boss Edtree. You should have known its pattern so far. This boss has a lot off opening and easy to dodge flawlessly.

But even though I killed Radahn on my second attempt, have killed Malenia at level 110, played every dark souls game multiple times I guess I'm just bad
Thanks for producing this JC. I remember this one now, it has levels that mirror previous levels which can be confusing. There's a statue that spits magic, which is fairly easy to avoid, hitting the statue from the side will break it. There are 2 rooms with Land Squirts, that can easily be destroyed by casting Poison Mist on one, causing it to explode which will instigate a chain effect killing all the other Land Squirts.

To be honest, 50k runes isn't that much when you are at the mountaintop. When I was playing the dlc I was losing like 200k runes and didn't bother to get them back
I killed the Zamor boss though before doing this, realised I missed that boss somehow (marked them on map prior to coming here) and somehow, the boss arena is open and looks like I've already done it - which I 100% haven't. Weird, but oh well.

The boss can be significantly easier if you coat your slash melee weapon with fire grease or bloodflame since the boss is really weak to fire, slash, and hemorrhage I had a plus 10 bloodhound gang and put bloodflame on it and the fight ended in about 30 seconds
Thank you I lost 80,000 runes here 4k away from leveling up and I was so pissed I just wanted to beat the boss and be done after losing an addition 30k from killing everything running around just to find summoning garbage.
My line of thinking is this - how would you have known to look up a guide for this place if you aren't already there and having trouble? That said, it's also difficult to determine where to start showing people how to get somewhere. What if they hadn't reached the mountains yet? Should I go further back? That's why I just show the map location and start the guide. But it's a perfectly valid criticism, just a difference of opinion. is there a way to time a summon? im a mage class so kinda relying on a summon to grab some aggro but the boss moves and attacks too fast for me to summon in time without dying

There are 2 areas that look the same that try to hide the secret boss. The game tries to fuck with your head to distract you. I found a hidden door at the bottom of a drop in the level. Problem is i cant find out how to get in because the doors at such an awkward angle.
Couldn’t find my way to the boss room so I broke my controller bc the imps kept staggering me 😅.. ig I should’ve finished the video instead of pausing it at the lever

My favorite method is to get close and use the Moonveil katana +9 with the 'Transient Moonlight. Take down ulcerated trees like a charm.
