This was a complete experience dude, I loved it!!! The friggin' glitched out game over screens were amazing and I loved seeing the weird, glitchy mess that occurs when ya get killed in a 'no-kill zone'. But I gotta day, my fave one has gotta be the Terratorial Oak glitch. It's so bittersweet lmao

Look up what item combos with food. The combo makes food better not only can you use the food glitch to eat the same item but if they pair together you get more bonuses. Brain Food Lunch combos with Salt so you get a bigger push out of that than using other items. Each food has a combo item or two.
9:27 "Simply give [the Rock Candy] to someone else and swap it back to [move it to the last slot of that character's inventory." You can speed this up a bit by simply having the character give the Rock Candy to themself. The game will display the message that the character rearranged their inventory and the Rock Candy's position moved. I've been playing this game since the late 90's and only learned about this technique fairly recently, so it's understandable if it's not well-known.
I have been playing this game since the 90s and I never once thought to look for glitches. This was so interesting and I am definitely going to try these out the next time I fire up my SNES and pop the game in.

yeah it makes your item in the last slot that is availible (no things in inventory = first item 1 thing in inventory = 2 items and so on (note its on the last slot))
If I recall correctly, 4,294,940,287 is the highest number that an unsigned 32-bit integer can be. It seems as if everyone dying to the Territorial Oak somehow causes the value in memory that represents EXP to underflow, resulting in the highest possible value.
The rock candy+sugar packet thing was mentioned in the official guide that came with the game. It mentions that only the condiment would be used if you put the item in the last slot.. so they knew this glitch happened and just rolled with it. I used to have three rock candies, nothing but sugar packets and use up all packets on one character, rinse and repeat for all three. Love getting that 'oh baby' and 'that rocks' for HP and PP on the level up due to IQ and Vitality increasing by tens and tens before the next level. Used master criminal worms in the desert for fast leveling after the rockcandy.
I don’t think the rock candy is considered a glitch. It was specifically mentioned in the Earthbound player’s guide that shipped with the game. That said, the player’s guide doesn’t mention using it with other items.
I was playing earthbound on an emulator a year ago for 1 month then 10 months later I came back to it, I was where the guardian diggers were and within a week I've beaten all sanctuary bosses and ness's nightmare

I found a glitch that as of my knowledge is unknown. I cant really remember it but it has to do with pressing one or both of the shoulder buttons right before an enemy encounter to skip it.

I haven't progressed from that point but I wonder if he will "return" Paula to me then. I wonder how far into the game I can get completely alone. I did the glitch to get past the barriers before fighting frank, and I skipped happy happy village, so I'm about to enter moonside without any your sanctuary locations.

Does Giygas (phase 1) have an HP limit? It is possible to poison just Giygas, then put up PSI shields until Giygas runs out of PP. Every turn, Giygas will lose HP due to poison and Heavily armed Pokey can be paralyzed, making the opponents harmless while Giygas takes 20 damage every turn.
The only glitch on this list which is useful to me, is the infinite rock candies. I don't want to risk the Debug Menu one, because I have no way of keeping track of how many frames are passing by.
I denno if this has beeen discovered but I used the Twson glitch to skip ahead and instead of going to Threed I went to fourside...I got lucky and was able to beat the mine solo at around level 25 or so. Did Department Store Spook solo, and even Moonside. Went up to the Monkey cave but had to backtrack to twoson and pay apple kid to get the pencil eraser. Got it, got teleport A....went to Monotoli and beat the robot, was headed back to threed via R5 but it got glitchy cause of the ghosts, lol. Was invisible but able to enter buildings, so saved and restarted in threed...but the funniest thing is, Between Twson Threed and Fourside, the runaway 5 music is playing instead of those town themes. They had the people rebuild the skyrunner despite not having met Jeff yet...it would crash if I tried to check it it without jeff, so went to get jeff and did the winters glitch, got him to threed (never unlocked the door in the graveyard though). skyrunner already built again so it took me back to winters. teleporterd back to threed, did the stairs glitch, got poo and now Summers is stuck wit the crash sound as music. Now Iv'e been messing around. I'm surprised how lucky I've gotten in battles...beat barf @ around level 35 w/ Ness and everyone else severely under leveled...on another save tried to see if I could beat Ness' nightmare and was able to get him w/ a level 38 Ness and 25 - 30 rest of the team + flying man
Using the debug menu I wanted to see what would happen if ness went straight to the final giygas as soon as he woke up. (Max lvl, all party) As soon as paula prays for the first time it will soft lock on the saturn village 😞 I was disappointed.
i found a glitch while trying to find the debug menu in the switch version of earthbound. i haven't got the debug menu yet however my screen turned black while a glitchy version of the pk starstorm sound effect played, looping. this might just be the switch version, but either way it was pretty wierd. if anyone can help explain this i would really appreciate it.
Probably not a problem with the game, maybe just because glitches do different things on different consoles. I’ve never done any glitches on my switch cuz I’m afraid of screwing the hardware up lol

For territorial oak glitch, ~4.29 billion is a max unsigned long or uint32_t, or 0xFFFFFFFF in hex. So, somehow 0xFFFFFFFF winds up as the amount of EXP. Might be a rollover issue, or a pointer going to the wrong spot, or a multiplication of the former that winds up maxing out. SNES is 16bit so I would imagine its some wonky pointer thing. Id like to find out!

I was playing on an emulator.. got to the Pyramid. Two-Finger swiped too fast and far to the right as i turned to the TV watch PokéMon Sun&Moon series.. Looked back at the computer screen... And i had now learned ; Two-Finger swiping goes to "previous page"... Now i shall debug menu back to where the eff i was.. thanks

hey, uhhh that’s a pretty tough situation. Pretty much the only way I can think is getting the debug menu again to remove the party members. But yes, the snes version and wii versions behave the same, so you could do the same glitch. Not 100% sure about the switch version though.

the debug menu is very difficult to pull up consistently, as a human. I’ve spent hours on my own trying to get it, and I think I only got it once on an emulator
I got the territorial oak glitch but with the titanic ant. I killed him at the same time he killed me, and the game bugged out and gave me a really glitchy game over screen and said I gained 4 billion xp

The number 4294942087 is two primes multiplied together, which I'm pretty sure has something to do with encryption.
4,294,967,295 is the max value of an unsigned 32 bit integer data type. Chances are its an underflow by 25,208.

if you use Jars of Delisauce with the rock candy, your stats will go up by 2 instead of 1.

If you approach an enemy that is much weaker than you the fight automatically skips. Is that perhaps what happened to you?

Going down the hole in Lumine Cave (the one that drops you into Lost Underworld) fixes this, common speedrun trick.

you can only get that bat from a bionic kraken in the cave of the past. It’s a 1/128 chance of it dropping from one though…

emulators are heavily sandboxed, especially ones running on modern consoles. you dont have to worry about your physical hardware being destroyed

Is it possible to get back down from the debug menu?
Sorry I’m late, but since the debug menu lets you teleport to any location, just teleport to any area and just teleport again to go back to Onett.
I was playing on an emulator.. got to the Pyramid.
Two-Finger swiped too fast and far to the right as i turned to the TV watch PokéMon Sun&Moon series..
Looked back at the computer screen...
And i had now learned ; Two-Finger swiping goes to "previous page"...
Now i shall debug menu back to where the eff i was.. thanks
😭😭😭😭😭CWillyHD, I need your help! I got the debug menu for the first time, but I accidentally got the Bubble Monkey and the Dungeon Man into the party! I tried to get the debug menu in Threed and Onett, but it did not work out! Now I'm stuck with the Bubble Monkey and Dungeon Man in my party and I can no longer teleport! I also accidentally saved and now I'm stuck with the Dungeon Man and the Bubble Monkey with me FOREVER!!! Can you please help me make a video showing all the steps on how to access the debug menu (again) on SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System), or is the procedure on Wii the same way i do it on SNES? PLEASE REALLY HELP ME FOR REAL! I'm now stuck and I cannot buy Brain Food Lunches and return to Summers anymore!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
hey, uhhh that’s a pretty tough situation. Pretty much the only way I can think is getting the debug menu again to remove the party members. But yes, the snes version and wii versions behave the same, so you could do the same glitch. Not 100% sure about the switch version though.

the debug menu is very difficult to pull up consistently, as a human. I’ve spent hours on my own trying to get it, and I think I only got it once on an emulator

I got the territorial oak glitch but with the titanic ant. I killed him at the same time he killed me, and the game bugged out and gave me a really glitchy game over screen and said I gained 4 billion xp

I just noticed the max number for stats and stuff is always 255. EVEN IN MINECRAFT. So like if someone knows why, please tell me
My game crashed when I used the game genie codes. Edit:it was when I was doing the debug menu.
