To me, the most intimidating invader is one who wears the Fashion Charm.
It means they are confident enough in their abilities to "waste" a talisman slot, rather than use it to push their build even further beyond.
I use it on my "stealth" character since it helps hide you in grass if youre too close for the concealing veil to work.
I always use it, even on my Rl1 build, because fashion>function
for straightforward melee builds, there arent that many "must-have" talismans. like sure, you can put on Erdtrees Favor for a few points of HP and stamina, but its probably not gonna make a difference in the result of the invasion most of the time.
Be it invading or be it helping i always use a slot for the fashion talisman.
I used it to show off my 16th century german landsknetch build. It feels strange when i replaced it with another talisman
Miyamoto Mushashi was a legendary samurai, known for his dual-wielding style of combat and his 61 duels won without a single defeat. He was one of very few men to be called sword saints.
Isshin Ashina?
@tonib.2371 probably inspired, at least in part, by Mushashi
@@tonib.2371 Isshin is more of a glock saint
Miyamoto Musashi build is fun given how simple it is. Easy to replicate face as well in creator when using presets.
@@tonib.2371Ishin is more of oda nobunaga
Miyamoto Musashi is actually the guy that invented powerstancing Katana and Wakizashi in a very special way (open to all eight sides).
nah
powerstance? I guess you could say that, inventing the style of dual wielding katana
There’s no other madlad who I’d see doing it back then.
Book of Five Rings big dawg
But in ER, he’s a white guy with knight armor and dual greatswords.
I like the knight simplicity for both pvp and pve. No need to use fancy effects when you can just brute force poise tank through your opponents katana and beat them into the ground with your giant sword
True but the second you meet someone better than you it’s game over
@@lebronejhames7265Well, isn't that the case with any build then?

I totally agree. Quality knight builds are some of the most fun builds in the game.
Quality is quite weak in elden ring... Like its usable but only at a stupidly high level they should probably give it a little buff for start of the game. Running around as a pure knight no fancy magic just steel is pretty fun tho no matter the affinity.
@@fleggy5050every build is viable, you just gotta learn.
@@Voidio2454 with that reasoning RL1 builds are viable even when you don't meet the stat requirements you just have to be good... Quality builds are objectively weak unless you're a high RL with some outliers and even with those you end up having you cut back on other stats like endurance. Alternatively you could go for high RL quality builds but then you won't be finding many players in PVP or invasions. Also if you are investing so many stats into a quality build then there are other builds that will still outperform it because you have so many extra levels to work with.
Yeah... I'm not saying it's like a thing that has to immediately get fixed or the game is unplayable lol. It's just that nobody ends up using quality outside very very very specific circumstances. I mean yeah u can beat the game with nothing but sl1 and fibreglass, I'm just saying that Quality is not usable untill a high level and even then it's not really worth it
Pure knight/true melee builds despite being basic are fun and prob gives the most reward mentally and i would always like true melee builds
I wish there were more ‘knight’ sets in ER. Like in DS3 you had the basic knight set, herald set, nameless knight set, drake knight set, lothric set, etc vs just the knights (which looks way worse in ER) and the vagabond.
banished knight set go brrrrrrrrr
@@swordpvnkThe boots ruins it
@@dancingcucumber9183
This is why I switch it with something else like the Scale boots
I'm a fan of fingerprint knight set myself.
ER has a decent amount. We got the Drake Knight, Banished Knight, Crucible Knight, Nights Calvary, Fingerprint Knight, Basic Knight, & the knights of the diff regions (Redmane, Halingtree, Ect).
I like the roleplaying element of this one, could tell you were enjoying it
12:00 beast man just yeeted himself off the edge lol
For those who don't know. Miyamoto Musashi is a kensei (sword saint) from Japan. He is most famous for developing the Niten Ichi Ryu style of swordsmanship, as well as his two books Book of the Five Rings and Way of Self Reliance. As he has both movies, comics, and TV shows based on him, go watch.
also known as John Vagabond
@@vanzwho854 Okay, as awesome as Vagabond was as a manga, the real Miyamoto Musashi was nothing like that.
For Honor Warden build, I made something similar in DS3 and just melted people in early level PvP without twinking my estus. Not my usual playstyle, so was real fun.
@awhellnah__ I don't think you know how twinking works... Twinking would be invading at Limgrave at low levels with max flask upgrades and endgame gear. You can't twink at level 200, he just has a better build, and probably way more PvP experience.
@@rosariocrimson elden ring has downscaling for invasions right? so I think a guy in limgrave just starting out can still whoop ass if he's just good at the game, probably not happening but hey, there's a chance right? lol
Whats the build
@@TytanR3x It's been a long time, but I want to say it was Hard Leather chest, Cathedral Knight helm, can't recall the arms and legs, but probably hard armor. 2 handed Bastard Sord or Claymore (think I mostly used the Claymore, but could swap between them), no offhand. It was a low level build for the Watchdogs area, so ~sl25 with +2 weapons. Just due to level, I'm sure it was raw infusion with points more favoring the general stats, since I don't think a heavy infusion would get that much more damage so early. I can't remember the specifics for the rings, but I do remember they were themed after the perks available to the Warden in For Honor. Sad to say that build was on a laptop that has been basically dead for a few years, but that was the general gist of it.
@@rosariocrimson Thanks ill try to remake this in elden ring
I have absolutely loved putting together and playing my quality build. But I do think that quality builds don’t feel that rewarding compared to doing a hybrid like INT/DEX, STR/FAI, etc. For how many points you invest, and having no magic whatsoever, I think the Quality Affinity should simply yield higher damage. If DEX has Lightning weapons, STR has fire weapons, Quality should at least have superior physical damage, but usually it doesn’t until you really pump your stats super high. It’s baffling that you can take a lower amount of points (60 points, say) and split them between STR and DEX, and pretty much any weapon will deal less damage on quality affinity than it would if you used Heavy or Keen, and put all those points into the corresponding stat instead of splitting the points. Part of the reason is that quality affinity gives you the biggest hit to base damage. But yeah, investing in two stats like that should give you some substantial reward, and a quality build should have unmatched physical damage on most weapons.
The biggest advantage of quality is allowing you use many more weapons, because you have both the Dex and Str required.
That said, Elden Ring features a lot of weapons that beside needing Dex or Str, they also need Faith or Int, which kinda lowers this advantage that quality builds used to have in past games.
@@lordofthecookie8555 True, but most weapons don't have very steep requirements. The Axe of Godrick is the only one that comes to mind that has legitimately steep reqs for both stats.
For a STR build, having 18 DEX is enough to use pretty much anything at all that will be good for a STR build. Anything with higher DEX reqs is usually going to be sub-optimal for a STR build anyway. With 18 DEX you can use the Golem Greatbow which is the main reason I level it that high. Otherwise you can comfortably hit like 15-16 and call it a day.
So for a Quality Build, being able to get decent damage out of pretty much any weapon is cool, and having the requirements for nearly any basic weapon is cool, but it doesn't feel like a big advantage. Because most weapons don't have very steep requirements, or if they do (Giant Crusher, Hand of Melania) they are usually for single stats only, and only that stat is needed to make the weapon effective, so the quality build is irrelevant. But at least quality builds have some Somber/Special weapons that rely on the equal stat spread, and I've enjoyed all of those.
I feel like quality should have higher base damage than standard, it is called quality after all
5:00 Mushashi can just say he is fighting you with a pair of oars.
Musashi Miyamoto allegedly forgot his sword on his way to a duel on an isolated piece of land sticking above the water, so while in the boat he carved a sword out of a paddle and then killed the opponent in one blow.
He was a ronin (jobless samurai) and he's quite a famous and powerful fighter. I don't know how much famous he was in his lifetime but I think he even had a sparring match with the current shogun at the time (kind of like a warlord, who ruled japan or part of it instead of the emperor).
And yes I doubt he had 2 giant european fantasy swords, rivers of blood build would probably fit the nickname.

Winning on a pure knight build is a straight flex, no fancy tech or crazy annoying spells. JUST PURE OORAH!
6:15 I was expecting to hear "Majestic!" after that laugh
Outside of buff spells like golden vow, fmgs, and/or barrier of gold and the like, I just really enjoy classic big sword heavy armor dude. I think ashes of war kinda dominated the game more than I think is healthy especially in pve but also in pvp with things like rivers of blood being notable examples. It's why my favorite ash of war is cragblade where it enhances the playstyle rather than defining it.
I think that trailer inspired a LOT of pure knight builds across many games.
I too was inspired 💪
Ah yes, the cinematic that also got people fired up to play "Human Fighter" characters in D&D.

Bro, that Elder Scrolls cinematic is just absolutely amazing. Really showing what good choreography can do for a fight.
Fun fact: Rebellion stops being a rebellion the moment everyone rebels, go knight enjoy the sword and shield combo it's not going to hurt you, unless it genuinely handicaps.
Whenever I play DnD, my characters always end up being close companions with these types of characters. Always forging the strongest bond amongst the other party members. Never understood why though, but it was always a blast to roleplay.
Opponents: “You are outnumbered! You are surrounded by many of us!”
Pure knight: “The only thing I’m surrounded is FEAR and DEAD MEN.”

I wasn't expecting the Smash Bro's music to hit so hard in first fight, excellent soundtrack choice!

Im so used to elden ring's batshit insane build that the pure knight looks like he has been ripped out from a different game.
its because quality is kinda dooke in this game. ngl it kinda sucks but at the same time, its about time. literally everyone can agree that quality builds were just toooo good before

Invaders just piss me off. I called in a friend to help me learn the game, and when I was level 20 someone came in with the sword you get from the very last boss.
"You don't cry over dead people." And this was why Lost stopped being invited to funerals and wakes.
I love that that Elder Scrolls trailer has become the poster child for the basic human knight class
Sometimes its fun to just get good with one weapon. In the og God of War games, decimating with just the Blades made you feel like a beast.
Blade of artemis went brrrr when it turned max level red. Even blades of chaos gow1 is such a damn classic. Wish they remade it for ps5 man. 😌

Musashi Miyamoto was a Japanese swordsman famous for inventing a style of swordfighting that involved dual-wielding.
Quality builds at lvl 200 really shine. Underrated and one of my favorites.
Exactly, because finally we can reach 60/60 str/dex without sacrificing vig and end
@@laukpauk6053what is the reason to go 60/60? 99 one stat is always better and cheaper.
@@joeskintone9752due to how softcaps work in this game, you get diminishing returns the more you put in a single stat (in the case of strength and dexterity you’ll get less scaling after 60, so less damage).
@@alomite1902 but still you get some. so as you probably know the game offers a lot of buffs, the obly problem with them - speed of application. Maxing possible ar by stats is necessary if you want proper damage. For example urumi: with 60dex you get like 540ar, 99dex 626. lets add blue dancers charm +15%. 540(621) 626(720) lets add golden wow +7.5% (667)(774) and exalted flesh +20%(800)(928). then add second urumi. You ll get around 910 each, which is finally proper dmg, everything below 850 is garbage, except reduvia.

One recommendation I have is the briar greatsword. Surprisingly good roll catching with the ash and it can also come out deceivingly fast after rolling, catch so many people throwing it uncharged after a roll and just casually getting almost a thousand damage.

What i currently love is our boi at fromsoft thought it would be a good idea to make a new way to level up and deal damage like sekiro.
