Fun Farce:
Carmine Appice is Tom Savini's stunt double, and Tom Savini is Carmine Appice's drum tech. ☺
Nice to know that I'm not the only one who noticed!
I never knew that. Yeah, they look alike and are prob about the same age. Nice!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Funny, I'm from Pittsburgh where Tom lives this is true.
Fun Fact: Appices mustache was recently inducted into the porn hall of fame cuz he's worn it for 6 decades .
Carmine Appice is one of the best drummers of all-time. 🇮🇹🇺🇲💪
If all these Rock stars are saying the same about Vinnie V, it must be Very true.
Except for Vinnie's fans that are willing to give him money still in order to see him.
You mean Vikki Vincent?
@Jakob you know it Kid!!!
Absolutely
Weather you love Vinnie or hate Vinnie he never tried bieng ACE he was himself I respect that
I always thought about that, as well. Where usually when someone is replacing a core member of a band, there's all that pressure to be just like them, or better than them, as though the band is better off without that person. Yet Vinnie did just kind of do Vinnie.
Bruce Kulick never tried to be Ace.
He probably should have at least personality wise🤣
@@robert.m4676 I agree, even knowing how bad it has to be to say 'you should be more like Ace'.
@@jamescarter3196 yeah he’s really kinda strange. I wish no I’ll will towards him but he is a bit of an odd ball.
Even 30 years ago Vinnie Vincent looked like a middle-aged woman.
All the guys in kiss did. Vinnie was no different.
He did not!😡 He just looked like a Skinny Guinea!
FTM for sure
No, he looked kinda cute
Exactly. First time I saw him I really thought they had brought on a woman. He's always been strange and kind of creepy imo.😳🤘🏼
Holy Tamoly!!!! I paid $5000 for an autographed guitar from Vinnie!!!! Now I find out that he buys used guitars for$150 and shines them up and sells them for a fortune!!!! Vinnie sure was smiling alot that day!!!!
I'll sell you mine for half that,I'll sign it,take a pic with you and even drink a beer with you if you buy it
Vinnie actually believes he could have been part of the last Kiss tour??
He has crossed over from delusion to insanity.
He crossed over many things...
@@hugolafhugolaf You got that right...
Vinnie is without a doubt the greatest backstory in rock history
You can't make this shit up
I truly enjoy hearing Carmine tell his stories. This guy has been around for so long, he knows everyone and they all know him. From the first second I put the turntable needle in to the first groove of "You keep me hanging on" to "Some Velvet morning" and "Breaksong" I have always enjoyed Carmine as a Drummer. Thanks for posting.
His drumming is great. Him telling gossip from decades ago, not so much. I've listened to a couple of these lately and that seems to be all he does anymore.
Obviously lots of people eat it up though; channels like this seem to do pretty well.
He'll even tell you he invented the drumset.
Vinnie is a weirdo.
Thats putting it MIDLY
He’s a fruity nut job.
@@friedrudibega6384 Are you trying to fry him, too? 😆
Vinnie is his own worst enemy. Every time he has an opportunity to take things to the next level and/or make a success of himself, he self-destructs and fucks things up royally instead.
Agreed
@@blindmelonstubbly All I know is that Vinnie needs alot of work...up in his head.
This is the most true statement every made, THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS GOSPEL
A feel a lot of it has to do with VV protecting himself and what he created musically within the bands he was in. He wrote or co wrote KISS's biggest songs when he was with them and they didnt show him respect financially. The guy stood by his convictions thats for sure....but he stood up for himself in one of the biggest bands in the world and that went over like a lead ballon. KISS did screw him over from a financial aspect.
@@markherring3513 it's funny how Carmine openly says here, "I demanded to be paid royalties for the songs Vinnie wrote." And thinks Vinnie is the asshole for saying, "Uhhhh no I wrote 'em, I get the credit and the royalties, that's how publishing works."
Carmine had been in the biz a long time by then, he knew that. He apparently got VV to agree on a handshake deal saying otherwise and then got disappointed by him finally sticking up for himself.. but really, that story says more about him than it does about VV.
VV still sounds like a total weirdo of course. And by many accounts, a real ripoff artist in recent years.
By the way ... Thanks for all the Videos :)
I can’t help but think what ‘Animalize’ would have sounded like if Vinnie had remained in KISS in ‘84..
It was an embarrasment when he came back a few yrs ago it was like he didn't pick a guitar up or 20 years and just decided to come back and pick one up and it showed.
The thing that is creepy is how neurotic V.V. is on stage .
On the KISS CRUISE VIDEO , you see the rhythm/ lead guitarist say to Vinny," take a solo"
And Vinny pathetically says," i can't'"
Kiss, Kould reunite with Vinny,
But Ohnk Man Kan't.
Vinny Vincent forgot how to KISS!
Its just a testament of how atrocious he was to begin with.....he played mediocre leads and horrible solos that had no thought put into them at all....just running scales and not even doing that right!
But according to him, he'd been playing guitar for 8 hours a day, every day, for those 20 years. 🤣😂. He's a fucking pathological lying weirdo.
I witnessed the Vinnie Vincent Invasion open for Iron Maiden. It sucked ass. Just a bunch of distortion . Sounded like ass. The crowd was so quiet after every song. No applause at all. They walked off the stage like they were pissed off at the crowd. It was just plain bad . Then Maiden came out and kicked ass. All is well !!!
that reminds me of Spinal Tap bitching about that pretty boy talent. “Remembered when he opened for us? the audience was still booing him when we took the stage. WE HAD TO APOLOGIZE to the crowd for HIM”. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do that. apologize for the opening act not realizing those boos are for me.
It's notoriously difficult to open for someone like Maiden though. Some phenomenal bands and the fans are like "fuck off we're here to see maiden" 😂
@Grg Dps The stories are similar across the board about Vinny. I doubt they are all making this up.
I was at the VV Invasion/Maiden show. I just remember VV was so fucking loud to the point of distortion, I had to go home and listen to the tape just to actually hear what songs I'd just seen live.
They should've done a reunion show with the four current members playing the songs as per usual but Vinnie just standing there playing Speedball Jam along with them uninterrupted. Like even between songs, he keeps going. In Ankh makeup and the pantsuit. What a wasted opportunity for some kind of bizarre performance art.
I saw a recent pic of VV and my first thought was that Kate Bush really had not aged well.
What's funny is that Vinny actually didn't live too far from me after he disappeared. I always expected to run into him but never did. This is when he lived in East TN.
Where in East TN?
@@gunnarjordan6980 Rutledge, TN. I think he actually lives in Nashville now.
@@TheMeJustMe75 Thank you. I once lived in Greenville, TN. That’s Eastern TN.

Vinnie Vincent is proof positive that all the talent in the world is meaningless if you're a shitty human being. Yes, he could undeniably shred, but if you can get past being awestruck by his speed, his playing further exemplifies his total self indulgence. I can't stand listening to his live solos, because they're an uncontrolled mess of "Look at me!" Now, when a producer or contract was restraining him, you'd get some real magical moments.
Vinnie is a fine example of someone who COULD HAVE been something much larger. I can honestly say, too, that he's one guitarist that someone could say, "Oh you're just jealous because you can't play like him," and I could be totally confident and genuine in replying hell no.
Now Vivian Vincent
"he could undeniably shred" Thats highly debatable!
@@omniken66 perhaps. I suppose if you peel back all the layers of preamp gain and delay, it probably reveals something lacking.
@@freepressright he lacks everything not just something......
Watching him live when he opened for Alice Cooper was 30 minutes of tapping while he ran around like a chicken without a head on stage.
A large group of my friend's and I were on front row ( for Alice....not this goob) and every time he came to our side of the stage we all flipped him off. He quit coming to our side of the stage. If we caught his guitar picks we threw them back. He spent 29 of his 30 onstage minutes with a " WTF????" look on his face 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bottom line to me...
Carmine was keeping beat for giants before Vinnie even learned to string a guitar.
Wait a minute! So not only Vinnie was responsabile of the great relaunch from Kiss with those 2 huge albums... But he did also cowrite songs on their Revenge album, the best one after 2 ok but a bit average Crazy Nights and Hot in the shade??? Now he may be weird, but hugely talented as well
What’s interesting about (you people) & your alcoholism is that just a few years before the potato famine, Ireland was the site of a massively successful temperance campaign led by the noted Catholic priest, Theobald Mathew. So successful was this campaign that between 1838 and 1841, national alcohol consumption was cut in half.
I remember seeing an excerpt from his hot licks instructional video. OMG! Utter garbage. Speed for speeds sake. Can't stand it!
Oops, there are others and better. I seen Yngwie in concert on 11/24/21. He was as amazing as expected. Nobody out Yngwies, Yngwie!
Well,he to is suppose to be a real dick
I saw him years back in a small bar in st louis. He was literally a giant. My brother named one of our dogs after him.
I saw Yngwie on his very first tour with Billy Shahans band “Tallis” no one knew who he was, at the Newport in Columbus Ohio, I don’t think there was even a full 25 people there…and what a show! I guess since there was no one there the band didn’t care and put on the craziest wildest concert I ever saw! When one had a solo, one of the other musicians would try to toss a beer at them, one time Yngwie snuck up behind the keyboardist and dumped a pitcher of beer on him! 😂
I saw Yngwie live open for Dio, it was boring. 🥱 😴
I saw YJM run across stage ripping he threw the guitar 10 feet above himself spun around caught it and kept ripping right along
I cant deny carmines review of VVI debut. The guitar was high, and the only thing i could hear other than VV was the vocals.
Years ago, I first came to know of Carmine Appice when he was drumming for Rod Stewarts Band (era of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?"). Years after that, I saw Carmine at a Sam Ash (Cerritos, Ca.) while he was setting up/prepping for a drum workshop (maybe 2000'ish?). I just wanted to shake Carmines hand and thank him for the years of music. As I stood there, there were about 4 little kids talking to Carmine, who had no ideo who he was. I believe the kids were in there for the(school) band section, but you know how it is, kids have the run of the store. These kids were asking Carmine tons of questions about drums and music. I was absolutely amazed at the time Carmine took to answer questions and talk to these kids. Very professional. I hope today, these kids are still playing music and now know who Carmine is. They can tell everyone about the time they chatted it up with Carmine! Carmine Appice, you command the highest respect, Sir. I never did get to shake your hand, but on that day, it was for the better! Till we meet again........
Great interview,, really liked this.. :)
What about asking Mark Free about some of Carmine's attitudes? Everybody had their own "douchebag" moment in the industry...but I agree that VV doesn't look like a "down on earth" guy from day 1.
Really ? Mark Free the original Bruce Jenner 🙄
It takes somebody special to make Gene Simmons look like somebody humble. Vinnie Vincent is one of those rare breed, who accomplishes just that, he'd make a fortune at pest control, since he's able to make the cockroaches feel insulted.
Gene said that Vinnie "would hang himself as someone is offering him the keys to the Kingdom."
Comment of the millennium 🤜🤛🍺
I thought you were talking about Carmine.
@Grg Dps Which was more than they should have because...
Kiss went on tour to support "Creatures" and "Lick it up" albums they quickly found that they made a mistake having Vinnie in their fold. Because, look at the logistics which come with doing a tour:
- You have to hire truckers to move the entire thing from city to city during the tour
- You have to hire a crew to build the stage
- You have to hire sound crew to make sure the shows sound good every night
- You have to hire special effects people to make sure the pyrotechnics of a show will work as they should every single night. (Certainly for a band like Kiss, that's their bread and butter right there.)
- You have to hire promoters to make sure the venues can be booked.
AND
- You have to make sure that every single one of those people hired is insured, because should a calamity happen to that said person, medical bills would be taken care off by the insurance company.
So every single member of the tour crew (Which includes the band members themselves) has to sign a contract which in return means:
- That they will be insured during that said tour.
- Will receive proper payment for their services for the full duration of that tour.
- Will be properly taken care of, have a bed to sleep in and enough to eat during the tour.
Vinnie let his contract expire which meant that the band was basically touring with an uninsured employee and basically had to pay for hotel stays out of their own pockets.
As I pointed out earlier, a Kiss show is a well planned out event, it HAS to be. But Vinnie's solos became longer and longer, screwing up the tightly rehearsed timeline of the show and after coming near blows with Paul Stanley one night, Vinnie was shown the door.
He sued the band a couple of times for unpaid royalties but every single time he tried, the band's lawyers presented the judge with the paperwork which showed that Vinnie was paid the amount of money his contract said he was getting when the contract was still viable.
And by letting his contract expire, there was no reason for the band to continue playing him.
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
I had I minor brush with fame then got fired , you have dealt with much more and prevailed.
Dang...Carmine is one frick'n guy I'd love to have a beer with.
I was never impressed with his playing back in the day, unless you wanted a headache or your ears destroyed. I remember when he left KISS to go solo and thinking wow what a moron he's going to bomb out and he did.
Ouch!
I’ve literally never heard a good word about “Vinnie Vincent.”
Please tell us the Anthony Gabriel story...the record must be set straight dude
The sub-titles on this are a riot.
Carmines a genuine soul a great drummer an a cool dude
That’s funny because Mr Appice was very nice to me as a stage hand at a Blue Murder concert. They opened for Bon Jovi .
Amazing how all the old rockers have all kept their hair even into their 60s.
For a good amount of them, it's called hair transplants or a wig. Don't kid yourself.
Ask Joe Lynn Turner about gettin' your wig on. He did it for years before finally admitting it.
Haha! I remember teaching a guitar student who at the time was into Kiss. I vividly remember him saying he liked the original guitarist and ”Vinnie Vincent was a toot!"
Haha!
Vinnie Vincent is the weirdest man in music hands down....what a freak
Man? Lol
Let's not get too over-hyped about that. VV is plenty weird but he's sure as hell not as weird as Michael Jackson. Or Elton John. Or a hundred others.
The difference is that millions of people will still love Jackson's and John's songs in fifty years, and already now the only people who give any thought at all to Vinnie Vincent are KISS nerds and people who just enjoy rock'n'roll gossip.
Even calling him a man is stretching it!
He looks like my aunt Connie.....
Vinnie Vincent had KISS fans worldwide REALLY missing Ace Frehley. Til Bruce Kulick stepped up, and KISS fans were like...."I think we'll be alright".
Bruce is a talented guitar player in a technical sense.
There's only one Ace.
Ace Frehley and Vinnie Vincent are the only musicians from Kiss that have done anything outside of Kiss I even care to listen to. I have all of Ace's records since his 2009 comeback. I like them all.
Appice recently said something about Vincent that is very true. He said when he "plays like Vinnie, good blues rock stuff, he's great".
He is.
I enjoy listening to the Warrior demos album where he writes all the tunes, sings, and plays guitar. Just good hard rock guitar with cool solos. He should do more of that. But the Vinnie Invasion, apart from "Animal" and "Back On the Streets" gives me a headache. There are some songs that have leaked out from his unfinished 90's album, like "Invincible" that have potential, I'd like to hear them fleshed out as finished recordings. But I wish he'd sing them instead of hiring people on helium to wail out the lyrics, and just play some good hard rock guitar. The speed shredding thing isn't his thing. It isn't really anybody's thing. Back in the day it was supposed to be cool, and nobody wanted to admit it sucked and just gave them a headache.
Vinnie also played drums in Vixen under the name Roxy Pertrucci.
Lol
Now THATS funny.
lol awesome dude!!!
Blackie Lawless is slowly morphing into Vinnie Vincent's twin sister.
David Lee Roth has turned into Dr. Smith from the origional Lost in Space.
Carmine and Vinnie used to rent their kits to studios? Awesome
I love some good tasteful shredding but Vincent had none of that. HE was pure vomit.
When did Roseanne Barr start playing guitar?
Vv was a brilliant songwriter, a VG guitar player, and a pretty good singer ... he wanted to be paid like the main man...
I met Carmine when he was playing drums for Nugent. It was funny because I pissed him off. I was asking him drum questions when he told me that he just put on a workshop in Detroit (where we were). I told him I could not get in because he did the workshop at a 21+ venue. So then he tells me he has books out with records in them to play along with. He got really pissed when I said that his stuff is too expensive. I was better off buying the album and just figuring the drums out.
He actually told me to give him his autograph back. I told him F you - I am selling this thing.
Jeezus...at 5:28 Vinnie looks like some kind of grandma..."Lets Bake some cookies". Someone dress this dude like a rocker.
Good God he does!
( look like a gma)
is that really him? I assumed it was a grandma
Scary !
when i talk to other musicians who worked with more famous people. i always cut them off when they start telling me how super nice stars are.. STOP. i don’t care about them. tell me whose the jerks and assholes.
He can fly all over the fretboard all He wants but He's never had any feeling.
Not For the Innocent from Lick it Up had awesome rhythm guitar. The solo did not fit at all.
"His playing reminded me of puking: It all came splattering out."
- Paul Stanley
@@aaronfrick4143 Paul played rhythm not Vinnie
I'm an Ace guy. That said, I likes Back in the Streets from the first album, and most if All Systems Go. ASG felt and sounded more like a team effort, and it was really sad that those guys didn't last in that lineup.
Vinnie uses people up and spits them out; that's why nobody wants to work with him anymore.
After watching many videos, and reading many interviews, it would seem that Vinnie Vincent may be bi-polar
, or have some kind of mood disorder. Its troubling to see talented individuals not meet their true potential because of mis diagnosis or undiagnosed issues.
..or he may be selfish. Which isn't a mental illness, but a character choice.
@Grg Dps nobody here debating his talent? But his socially awkward demeanor, and inability to deal with the day to day necessities of a working and touring musician, is a tell tale sign that something was wrong. None of these issues are funny, or easily remedied. None of us want to insult Mr. Vincent in any way, and we understand that working with Stanley Eisen and Chaim Witz is perhaps one of the most taxing musical jobs you could ask for. Certainly Mr. Vincent would have found it difficult.
Vinnie Vincent looks like he puts together the newsletter for the local public library.
Vinnie reminds me of the short run doc u series Small Town Security. If you know the show you will see it !
Both parties egos overshadow their talents .It happens so many times and there are many players who cannot be worked with . Lindsey Buckingham , Ritchie Blackmore and Neal Schon just to name a few . When it gets to a point where egos make it no longer fun to play , you lose the whole meaning of why you started playing to begin with .
They're all so utterly un-self-aware, it's actually pretty funny. Appice is one of those who always blames everyone else on the planet for all his projects and bands falling apart.... hmmmm, mayyyyyyyybe there's a common thread there...
Thank you for pointing this out...Carmine is the proverbial pot calling the kettle black.
Vinnie's double V guitar reminds me of a Chernobyl deer with extra legs
Those things make great pets. They're also very fast.
Mr. Vincent wore great rocker dudes, threads rags, kits, stage garmets and what. His make up ,hair and nails alway looked professional.🎸🤘😇🙏😎
Carmine just auditioned for Sixx AM .
Damn, thanks for keeping the make-up!
Unique talent ended abruptly by his own demons. You can tell just by the way Carmine talks that he's one of the guys, and Vinnie always wanted to hog the spotlight. Mark Slaughter echoed the same sentiments as Carmine towards Vinnie...
The picture with Gene Simmons you show, Vinnie looks like he could be his mother.
Saw a recent pic of VV. Realized my old aunt was a rock hero!

Even in my teenage days there was a pecking order and every area had a "best" guitarist. In my case During the early 80s we started a band and I went from lead to rhythm and found out WHY he was so good. They guy was a ass, no friends so he had all the time in the world to practice. I feel Vinnie carries more baggage than most in the rock scene, so that might explain some of his behavior. The overtly loud, uncharacteristic guitars on the Invasion project might have been a manifestation he was struggling to find his identity even back then. Now he's (they've?) been appearing more feminine in public than in the past. I really don't care, I just hope he's (they're?) happy. Everyone deserves that.

Vinnie has strong traits of having NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER. And that can't be fixed.
@UCTreOluMtS2f3uGk4rBlWtQ I’d say that’s not true. Being a bit of a narcissist like some actors are guilty of is a whole different thing from narcissistic personality disorder which, like Klaatu said, Vinnie shows a lot of the signs of.

Wow always hear bad things about him he must be a db
Nonsense, Vinnie had a difrent style and used a difrent scales basically, phrasing etc then Malmsteen so how on earth He tried to outplay him? Carmine obviously like to talk trash and V. V. is usuall bashing out topic. Come on , He was an amazing player and honestly i learned more from his style then the other player Carmine is glorifying so much. Viiinies hybrid picking was ahead it's time, today all 1st class fusion rock and HM players use it but Vinnie did it in 1980 and before. I don't know what is wrong with a people to have such sick need to trashtalk about Him non stop and to lie is such terrible ways. Album badly mixed and guitar is to loud? WTF are you he's talking about then all albums from 80's are with to loud guitars.

@Your Average Golfer I get the distinct impression that if you ever do any sort of business with Gene or Paul, you better have at least two different attorneys look it all over before you sign anything.
But the entire music biz and showbiz in general seems to be like that.
@UCdc08sehJ-OvT8rol4upIIA yep. That's why I've never felt one bit bad about tape-trading or using Napster or any other kind of "music pirating." Fuck 'em. Vinnie, is that YOU??
Vinnie was never an official member of the band. He never signed a contract with Kiss on either of the albums he did. That’s why he didn’t make shit with them. He thought he was a dude who was gonna take the world by the balls himself and it just didn’t pan out.
