Fantastic. I have a 1998 auto Ghia. Beautiful car. Cruise control wasn't working and was driving me nuts til I saw this vid. I checked the module, found the cable was disconnected...now I have cruise control. A great feeling My gratitude to you.
Found the document and went through the procedure. When I pressed the Set Acc button I got two flashes. Turned out to be the clutch switch. It wasn’t aligned properly because I pulled the dash out this weekend to replace the A/C evap coil. The harness was too short and I didn’t realize I caused the switch to pull forward, twist and get out of alignment. Thanks for the great video Jack!
Top little video Jack! Thanks for your clear and concise instructions. I'm hoping this will give me a starting point to fix my cruise control on my 2005 Ford Escape with 350, 000 km's & still rolling! Thanks from Brisbane, Australia.
It will not actuate if the cruise deactivation fuse is bad. Replaced fuse no codes and it actuate. I have replaced the switch already and forgot to check the fuse. All is good now. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Thank you for the great video.... I ONLY get the 1st blinking light when you turn the ignition switch 2 times while holding the OFF button, but none of the other 4 buttons blink at all pushing them within 1 sec apart(no light at all. I even tried it a few other times and still no blinking light at all on the rest of the buttons). I checked the fuse on #15 and #22 by hood released under steering wheel area (I believe these 2 are the ones control the Cruise Control), and they are ok, not blown. Any suggestions?
This worked. I replaced the grey switch first because I had read that one is for the CC, didn't change anything so I replaced the blue brake pedal switch and that fixed it. Botch switches tested good with my meter but the actuator rod on the blue switch was sunk in so far that the brake pedal wasn't able to move the rod far enough for the electrical connection to happen. New blue switch had a crazy long plastic rod but they will adjust themselves to the proper length once installed.
I have an 02 f150, replaced pressure switch on master cylinder, diagnostic test passes and pulls throttle. Still no cruise when driving. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you
I have the same exact module on my 94 lincoln town car. There is also another exactly the same on my 2000 expedition. Do you think it would work if I used the module from my expedition and put it on my lincoln?
Well, mine is a Grand Marquis 1998, did the "Cruise control check" using the steering wheel and everting is perfect but the Cruise control won't keep the vehicle at speed even thought I get the message on the cluster
My Cruise control is not working on mine, Does this work on a 2008 Ford Ranger, I'm trying to do yhe sequence and I don't even get any lights flashing, and my cruise control light failed the bulb test ?
Hi I did it my self and at the first I did the off bitten and 3keys It worked but after that I pressed bitten by sequence but nothing happened 😭 What sould I worried about
Hello ,I did your test with the light bulb ,exactly how you said , I got no pull test but I also got 3 flashes when I did the test, According to the print out it says that I have a brake deactivation switch that's open or damaged. 1 question will the pull test work if that switch is bad open or damaged? 2 question where is that switch because I can't find it If you can help anyone?
This is a 2002 ford crown victory police Interceptor with no cruise control, I added a steering wheel with cruise control and got the cruise control device from the junkyard. Can someone help me please, any answers will help ,thanks
Honestly I don't know if the pull test will work if the switch is open or damaged but the brake deactivation switch on that year should just be another switch on the brake pedal assembly itself.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone ok ,I understand, i bought a new deactivation switch, a blue color one ,will install it and hope that fixes the issue ,I found that blue switch way up there by the break pedal and it has a wire connection to it , hopefully this works. It should not be able to. But a stuck manual linkage could cause this. The way to check it to unclip the cruise actuator cable from the throttle body and see if that makes a difference.
There is no published online Ford service manual, unless you want to pay for it. If you follow this procedure it is easy to narrow it down. Normally a bad clock spring has other symptoms such as an airbag light and / or a non functioning horn.
I ordered a brand new blue switch for my 2005 f150 and my cruise control with the other buttons in the steering wheel still not working, is there a fuse for them
Does the horn work? Do you have an airbag light on? Could be the clock spring. A 2005 F150 has computer controlled cruise control. It does not have a module like this video. Could be your SCCM (steering wheel control module) also.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone horn works, no air bag light, so I give up, I'll buy a for sale sign this weekend, I bought the truck because every one said theu are reliable, but I think it's really trash, no radio control in steering wheel, no input jack in the radio, now I can't even see the miles in the instrument cluster at night when the dash is on, the features in the truck sucks
@@ralphwhitaker8761 I'm sorry anyone who told you a 2005 f150 is reliable was mistaken. Well I guess I should preface that by saying it depends on the engine. We had a 2005 F-150 but it had the 4.62 valve which is the reliable of the two
@@JackofAllMasterofNone lol thanks, well I guess I had to find out of my own, I think I'll give the ram 1500 a try or even may be Chevy Silverado or GM pick up, I'm putting this one for sale as of this weekend
@ralph whitaker Dude the truck is almost 20 years old! It's not going to have all the bells and whistles of a brand-new one. How many miles are on the truck?

which fuse is that
The fuse on the brake master cylinder deactivation switch. The updated in line fuse.

does this work on the 6.0 powerstroke crown vics?

...and disappointingly, the TSB doesn't really suggest that a cruise control issue could also be a clock spring issue.
I have the same exact module on my 94 lincoln town car. There is also another exactly the same on my 2000 expedition. Do you think it would work if I used the module from my expedition and put it on my lincoln?
Probably not unless they have the game party number. The calibration is different between cars

I have the same issue on a 2001 Ford Taurus SEL. Not sure what the problem is, if I find a solution I’ll let you know :)

Does the cruise control stop working without that light? Mines never worked either.
My 2000 F250 cruise works but dash light that reads Cruise doesn’t come on! Ideas?
If everything works it could just be a bad bulb (burnt out) or a wiring issue between the module and the cluster.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone cool, I’ll look to see what it takes to change the bulb! (I’ll check fuses first of course!)

my cruise control passes all the tests locks in sometimes...only when I'm driving home from Vegas..lol
