THANK YOU, Zsk!!! I know my 1995 Mercury Cougar 4.6L Cruise Control has issues because it will not engage (Speed Control as Ford calls it), but now I can test to see if the Servo is bad. I'll find out if switch testing can be done after that if the Servo is bad, but the Servo is a big concern because it is no longer available, unless I can find New Old Stock. Isn't it amazing that a 2-year old video is still helping people? Thanks again. PS: If you like, I can tell you the outcome of my testing. Edit to add: The first step, hold Off switch then Key On = No light, so it looks like my Servo is bad. This is what I needed to know, so I ordered a New-Old-Stock Servo. I hope my ABS light being On didn't prevent the test from working. I read somewhere that it would on some vehicles. ABS is another thing on my list to have fixed. My Master Cylinder does not a secondary Deactivation Switch that I could find to test.
Does this mean that indicator lamp flashing but no movement of the electric motor? If yes, I recommend to open up the main unit and check the electric motor and circuits.
@@elstimate I actually have two issues now. It sometimes throws code p1502 for a lack or speed sensor signal and won't work at all. Now, when it doesn't do that, it engages and behaves normal.but the electric motor doesn't seem to be working at all. As it won't actually open the throttle. All functions work including the brake switch, buttons, and it kicks off if I coast for a bit as it won't hold.
@@elstimatehello sir, I tried it yesterday in my 02 f150, it works. I also tried this in my 02 f350, it doesn't work. I know the f150's cruise control has a cruise module located in the engine bay, but the f350's cruise control is through the pcm. I learned something new😁. Hope all's well on your end 👍

I'm glad that my video helped you. And my understanding is, that ABS and cruise control are 2 different systems, independent from each other.
@@elstimate Thanks for your reply! I saw someone saw that ABS not working can affect Cruise Control, but that may be for vehicles newer than mine.
My Town Car won’t even run the test but the buttons all work. I know this as it works intermittently.

I assume this doesn't work for an 02 f350?
Not impossible. Very likely it works for that too. I guess the electronic controller is the same for that one too. Make a try
