@@LeonTrotsky6782 Well, I think at the time of its release it didn't get a lot of attention. If it'd done better, maybe Pete would have moved forward on other epic compositions. But, ya, most people who know anything about it really appreciate the artistry, themes and song writing.
I did NOT expect him to hit the high note at the climax of the song ... He just blew me away. Respect!

80 years old and bringing it. No lip-synching here. Daltrey is to professional, prideful and the consummate professional to rely on that crap. And from what I hear, there isn't a more decent man in this business.

I love the Who. I saw them as a mere child of 17 at the Fillmore East in 1968 doing "Tommy" and other numbers and even though I had nosebleed seats, it was one of the most "influential" performances that I had ever seen on so many levels! Nonetheless, methinks it is time to hang up the guitar and microphone chaps!
I’m not sure if this makes me happy or sad. Happy that it, the song, the singer, and myself, still has magic, but sad that the gate is worn and aged.
An 80 year old man who can still scream an E5. That's pretty impressive.

Loren, Zack Starkey posted "The Song Is Over", as a way to let us know, that The Who s end might be. Hope one day, if this Is not true, you will find a way to convince them yo play it. The Song Is Over Is a great song. There are other Who songs like "I ve Known No War" or "Had Enough" that included a Orchestra
Pete Townsend has recently said, he is undertaking one final goodbye tour, as soon as he can organise it.
ELO is also beginning a farewell tour this year.
Maybe the Stones will be next?

Are you in denial about Townshend being on the sex offenders register. 2003-2008. Downloaded indecent child images allegedly. Daltry is a Brexiteering dinosaur who then whinged about the impact on his touring career.
He was indeed on the register,but read the whole story and his reasons behind doing what he done.
Roger is a Brexiteering dinosaur and has ruined the touring futures of loads of. British talent. Townsend was on a sexual offenders register from 2003 to 2008. What a great band.
