The artist's racing car | Owning a 700kg modified TVR

- Tim Layzell is a renowned motorsport artist, he's also a car fanatic and owner and racer of a stunning TVR Grantura. While he's new to racing cars, especially at Goodwood, he's not new to TVRs, with the current Grantura being his eighth.
This is the story of how Tim mixed his love for art and racing cars and how this 700kg Grantura holds a special place in his heart. The car was specially modified to race across Europe in period and has significant history in both motorsport and, coincidentally, with Tim and will be racing at the 78th Goodwood Members' Meeting.

That is a beautiful TVR. I'm glad it is in the hands of someone who really enjoys it.
Brilliant Video Tim :-) Shared on the Lilley Wilkinson TVR facebook Group.. A great car with great history.
So happy to see that someone who really cares is looking after and using as it should be, my beautiful ex.......PG1!
Awesome work Mr Layzell! Very well played indeed. A lovely watch.
TVRs are just so under appreciated in the us. They're just so awesome, especially the Sagaris and the Typhon! :D
Beautiful piece. Fantastic work!
A beautiful Car. Used to race against one with a 289 V8 in Seattle in the late 80's early 90's.
He'll be racing at 78MM, find out the rest of the race list here: www.goodwood.com/grr/event-coverage/members-meeting/2019/11/full-race-list-for-78th-members-meeting-confirmed/
amazing video!! more more more of THIS please :)
Excellent video, beautiful car, fine artist.
In the early/mid 60s in Monterey, Ca. I had two friends with TVRs, both bought from Bruce Glenn Sr and Jr.
One car in black with a Climax and one in grey with an MGA 1622... but neither could keep up with my 1959/60 Fairthorpe Electron Climax FWE : ).
Love your art 🎨
True car lover
Sweet
Cool story 😊
That front sway bar looks like it would get torn out often by running over not that overly high objects in the road.
It is pretty much the same on all TVRs upto the Wedges. It's more noticeable on the Granturas as the front apron height is quite high compared with the later cars although my Vixen is very much the same & it does ground out on big speed bumps hence me fitting some stainless skids! In some of the pics it looks like the bar may have been dropped on its mounts, presumably to keep the geometry for the reduced ride height.
Where did u get model of TVR on your table from?
Not nearly enough driving or engine noise :(
Wow, surprised this 2 seater plastic sports car weighs more than my metal 4 seater Austin A35! 😂
👍👍👍
Yay....first one to comment
Ah eternal fame
