It's so amazing how many of these rare cars were bought up years ago and left as a future project and never realizing completion. Some are still hidden away rusting and becoming a pile of junk. This is one time I would like to applaud the person who had the incentive to put the car up for sale and allowed someone else to carry on with the restoration. A beautiful job and story of rebirth of a great machine!
What a Cool , skilled Guy with a smart Daughter and what an amazing car and how he pulled it all together its a credit to him and it's a beautiful car everything he has done is just perfect I love the colour and the wheels etc, just fantastic !!!! Full Marks my friend !!!
@A World Under A Spell Don't get me wrong please. Jealousy has nothing to do with it because that wasn't meant at all. ( I for instance have a car since 37 years and did nothing to it ).
Fabulous restoration Didier. To reconstruct such a unique car is truly a labour of love. The back story alone was so interesting and fascinating Really enjoyed your video. Does make one wonder about fate. The car sat in that field for so long waiting for the right person to come along and breath life back into it. Glad you saved it to be admired by generations to come.
That is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Such a pleasure to see a bit of its history and restoration, bravo kind humble guy, bravo!
Fantastic car and a round of applause to you for bringing this wonderful piece of automotive history back to life. Incrdebile and thanks for posting. Cheers from Texas.
After years of looking at cars like this and motorcycles too, I am convinced that in the 50s and 60s, you couldn't sling a dead cat in England without hitting a garage where someone was building a custom car, race car or motorcycle. This is top drawer.....
The era of one man design Like Colin Chapman , Costin, TVR,Marcos...so many British cottage industry minds....doing their own thing there are so many to reflect on before the big corporations .
Such a beautiful car even today. I absolutely love the stories when someone came up with the idea and was able to build it, then for it to be found and rebuilt decades later by an enthusiast of equal passion and the original builder is still alive to experience their dream car's resurrection.
This is fantastic. I love to see people make good use of their money and life energy in a way that positively affects others. Well done, and thank you.
That has got to be one of the best rear ends I've seen on a 60s era!! Beautiful car!! Love the post war british green touch to it aswell. Compliments the car really well
Thank you for finding and restoring this beautiful car and for staying true to your words and letting Ian drive it again.im so struck by it's figure and form,a great gt car and one of a kind,a rare beast and a special guy who resurrected it 😉
I am a huge fan of Rover V8 driven cars and do own a MG BT RV 8 recreation myself with a180bhp 3.9 L. BUt this car is a pure beauty. I am sure if seen it on the race course somewhere either at SPA or the Nürburgring and always thought it was an early TVR. Thanks for posting that incredible story.
Thank you for this very well done presentation! What a phenomenal car and backstory.. plus an owner who couldn't be more deserving of this lovely little beast! Well done you!
This is a high quality story of two men and a "machine"! I could have looked at every picture. This is only missing " how his daughter feels about the car now" She had real " vision" ! When it was raw and abandoned....
That is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. I even love the badge they made for it. I wonder if that was a creation of Ian or the Belgian gent who re-finished it.
I just discovered this channel and I have no idea why you don't have more subscribers....but keep it up, you'll get there! And the Vixen GT, what a fantastic car, owner and overall story. I know it sounds cliche but it truly is inspirational. Thank you Ian for originally building this car and thank you Didier for hunting, finding, buying and having the patience to restore this fabulous automobile! Cheers mates!
Totally looks like some one-off special bookin' it around LeMans. Thunderous engine sound like only a V-8 can. (I like how that little V-8 passes for "colossal" in Europe :-) Styling 1st. reminded me of the ill-fated Lola GT slightly (not just the tailamps) and perhaps the Porsche 904, all with a healthy dose of aircraft inspiration. Would surprise me if the builder built airplanes for a living. I'm seeing other Ford parts like the 4-lug 13" rims look like the same ones that came on the 6cyl. Mustang and US Falcons. Sure is oddly beautiful. Would love to know how it's shape copes with 200+ MPH. Mr. Didier is an automotive hero for saving this poor neglected soul. Thanks for the show!!!!
Congratulations to you on such a fine and worthwhile work. You should also be proud of your daughter. It sounds as if she's wise beyond her years, given her initial opinion/assessment of the unrestored car.
Terrific-looking machine. At a guess, I'd say Ian was inspired by the 1962 Lola GT, itself the inspiration for the Ford GT40. It has some of the Lola's stance, especially from the side, and Cortina taillights were also used for the Lola.
Looks like the right man bought the car... beautiful job....👍
Absolutely stunning car ! .Beautifully executed restoration ,very well done .
Regards from the UK.
So sad to think, modern cars will never have the heart and soul like this fantastic car
Great story and a beautiful car. How wonderful to take it to England and share it with Ian.

Bless you for letting the old geezer have a drive. Top bloke
It was the most touching part of the story and spoke volumes for the restorer/owner.
What a work of art! And what an artist! Congrats on this stunning result. A testament to your efforts
What a Cool , skilled Guy with a smart Daughter and what an amazing car and how he pulled it all together its a credit to him and it's a beautiful car everything he has done is just perfect I love the colour and the wheels etc, just fantastic !!!! Full Marks my friend !!!
Superb car and a beautiful story indeed👌
Some people deserve these automotive works of art more than others.
@A World Under A Spell No, he's totally right.
@A World Under A Spell Don't get me wrong please. Jealousy has nothing to do with it because that wasn't meant at all. ( I for instance have a car since 37 years and did nothing to it ).
That’s a handsome little car! Love the colour. Well done on saving it. Your daughter has good taste!

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS ! I haven't seen much to equal this for looks EVER . Wonderful story from a lovely man . Full respact.
Those cortina rear lights made me click this video. Amazing work!
I'm sat with Marc Stronach now, the son of Ian. We're loving the old videos of the Vixen. RIP Ian ❤
That car is beautiful. And so much hard work to put it back together. What an accomplishment.
Ahh what a fantastic story, sometimes good things do happen to nice people. You deserve the car, a reward to all those who share your passion.
What a beautiful machine and your daughter was right thank you for bringing it back to life
That is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Such a pleasure to see a bit of its history and restoration, bravo kind humble guy, bravo!

Great story and a fabulous film. Patina you’ve nailed it again 😎😎
Mmmmmm. Great story and wonderful to have the car fully restored and back in action for people to see and appreciate.
It is just absolutely gorgeous! The soft lines, its petite size and 60s style is just spectacular!!!
After years of looking at cars like this and motorcycles too, I am convinced that in the 50s and 60s, you couldn't sling a dead cat in England without hitting a garage where someone was building a custom car, race car or motorcycle. This is top drawer.....
Great story, great car, great people. Love this era, love this car.
The era of one man design
Like Colin Chapman , Costin, TVR,Marcos...so many British cottage industry minds....doing their own thing there are so many to reflect on before the big corporations .
And...the first spoiler on a car.
Beautiful in every way.
Thank you for posting. What a beautiful thing. Sounds amazing! 👍🥃🇦🇺
In my opinion this is a real exotic. Is gorgeous the car and the story behind of the car. Thanks for share !
Amazing full circle story... It's the fact that he involved the cars creator in the restoration that makes the story so great.
Such a beautiful car even today. I absolutely love the stories when someone came up with the idea and was able to build it, then for it to be found and rebuilt decades later by an enthusiast of equal passion and the original builder is still alive to experience their dream car's resurrection.
I bet Jay Leno would pay very big money for this unique gem. Great car, great story.

Great story!! Beautiful car!!
The story is almost as beautiful as the vehicle, and becomes part of the vehicle.
That is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. I even love the badge they made for it. I wonder if that was a creation of Ian or the Belgian gent who re-finished it.

Amazing beauty and history. Unique.
Such a shame you guys stopped uploading. Your videos are the best classic car content on YT besides Petrolicious. Such great filming and storytelling!
Hi TheRealFLX! We saw your comment and decided to make a comeback!
Beautiful car well presented and beautifully filmed, it’s so great to know such enthusiasts are looking after these machines and evolving them.
Well, it's not 'totally unknown' now! Another fantastic video guys, excellent work!

My thoughts exactly Eric. This is my new high water mark for Automotive fantasy/pleasure (previous one being Petrolicious). Outstanding PATINA!
A huge project and beautiful car, just awesome.
A great story for a beautiful race car.
Rover ally V8! No wonder it sounds so good. And what a great story, Ian got to drive it all those years later. Touching.

Whoop!

UberLummox he shoulda gotten a Texas speed billet aluminum block LS Imo wouldn’t have weighed much more and it would make triple the power.
Stunning. I love how low it sits..and that sound; perfect state of tune or maybe the perfect size v8 for that set up... goodness
Congratulations to you on such a fine and worthwhile work. You should also be proud of your daughter. It sounds as if she's wise beyond her years, given her initial opinion/assessment of the unrestored car.
What a lyrical and evocative new channel...I am jumping in with both feet!!
P A T I N A . . . What a new way to celebrate the joys of motoring!! 🏁
