I am deaf, the main interest for me is can it do auto captions as people talk! i would not get vision. so bulky!
These are smart glasses 🤓, like an Apple Vision Pro, but way cheaper.
The $500 price would make them sell like hot cakes. I would probably buy them with prescriptions but there’s also no word on battery life yet.
Definitely, Battery life makes or breaks these in terms of usefulness (gotta be able to get 12 hours at least ideally)

@southerncyan4098 that much battery life is an absurd request with out current technology, you're asking for a battery life 4x the amount capable of current vr abd ar headsets.
The most you'll need is 6 hours. You won't be using the virtual features every waking moment of the day.
That being said, the minimum battery life would need to be about 4 hours.
I think Apple will charge at least a grand or two. Apple does not sell new products cheap.

We’re a long way from having Vision Pro in glasses form. The form factor is completely different, the amount of miniaturisation and energy density of the battery needed is huge.
I have been waiting my whole life for l/w AR glasses.
I would also be happy to see a major upgrade to the watch and then I would be purchasing the new Apple Watch.
An Apple watch band in metal will most likely be my next Apple purchase!

I agree that a HUD design of Apple Glasses makes most sense. Keeping the cost down will certainly entice sales and making it a 'tool' gives me a fighting chance of convincing the wife that they're a good idea!!!

Years away just based on the Vision Pro.
Surely it's impossible for Apple Glasses to look like those mockups. How on earth would the user be able to focus on the images in the lens without additional lenses between the eye and glasses screen. If anyone know how please inform me.

I’m looking into 2 things:
First I would like to update my iPhone 14 to the new 16 pro or update my old iPad Pro to the new 13 inch iPad Pro with M4
I really want to get an iPad for my uni, it would make life so much easier by not having to carry around textbooks and writing books etc. I may get an iPad Air, but the iPad Pro M4 would be life-changing 😍
I would consider buying glasses when they can read your eyesight strength and adjust themselves accordingly so you don't have to wear them over spectacles.

Got the iPhone 15 Pro Max, got the Ultra 2 Watch, got the Gen 2 Air Pods, my MacBook Air is getting a bit old now, and my daughter nicked my iPad! An iPad Pro would be great, and I am toying with the possibility of Vision Pro!!! Not sure why the glasses are taking so long!
Upgrading from my iPhone 8 Plus to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Would love Vision Pro experience but not really within my budget, nor are they practical day-to-day. Hoping Apple bring the experience with lower price tag entry point with the release of their glasses. The ability to ask verbal questions on a device was outlandishly expensive, in its initial conception, yet once released plummeted. Future tech becomes historical so quickly now that huge price tags don’t seem to be the logical way forward. Lower pricing with more frequent releases of upgraded tech, incremental improvements, would likely prove more beneficial for both the consumer and manufacturers alike. Personally, I’m more likely to be in the market for the Apple Watch 10, in the foreseeable, as the Ultra/Ultra 2 are impressive but bulky and warrant some refinement in my opinion.

I’m hoping it can do it wirelessly like the Apple Watch. Apple Watch use to or still does off load certain task to the phone. The glasses could do the same. Other simple task, the glasses can do itself. They can offer an option to also plug them into your phone to charge, use, etc.

In 2024, I am hoping to buy the Apple Watch X. I have been waiting for this watch’s release since I got my Apple Watch 7. Back then, I had already decided to upgrade it when the X comes around.
The glasses not sure, could be distracting when walking around.

Been waiting for these glasses for years… But at the moment I would like a new design of airpods: gen 2 were great but gen 3 do not fit my ear as well and I hate that press button. Hope to get them with the iPhone release this year.

I dont understand why smart glasses dont use bone induction speakers instead of speakers. It retains fidilety, privacy/isolation, while keeping your ears free.
Also, the battery really needs to be something other than the vision pro right now (external battery). Perhaps an external battery can be plugged in for extended charge/life but not as the defacto set up.
But I suppose what would be groundbreaking are meta like glasses with:
- a privacy respecting HUD
- basic camera set up with indicators when turned on and primarily LiDAR scanning (side and front facing)
- a set of mics for ANC/commands/spatial awareness (incoming cars! lol)
- bone induction speakers for privacy and fidelity
- eye tracking controls/hand gestures controls/touch countrols on the temples (with Touch ID?)
- Processing and Apple Intelligence on Phone/Mac/iPad to reduce price and power consumption
- Perscirption glasses
- Notifications and AR (Maps, information, etc.)
