I can confirm these findings, especially the chalk retention on the cue ball. It’s god awful. But I’ve been playing them for about 10 months now and no print has worn off. All in all they did what I needed- I went over budget on my table and they got me through until I could upgrade.
Thank you for your comment, and agree completely. They are decent balls at the price point (you'll likley not find better at this price as all other budget balls will be poly resin and not phenolic), but are not perfect. The Aramith Crown's are worth the extra stretch in cost if you can justify it. I've always considered purchasing these. I always loved the color scheme, but was always concerned with them not being up to proper spec and it effecting my play with their higher grade sets. I'm glad you did this video. I really wish that they would make a high grade version of this ball set with this classic design. Looks so good! It would also be awesome to see your honest comparison of a high grade Aramith vs the Brunswick Continental ball set. Also the McDermott Galaxy ball set would be cool to see!
Glad that you found the video helpful! Yes, these do have a pretty cool retro-look to them. As covered in the video, at the price they are really the only phenolic resin option out there and so should out-perform anything in this price bracket. However, their other sets do offer better performance overall, and the Crown set is ideal if you can stretch the budget that little bit further. We're working on a review currently for the Super Aramith Pro set, which is made from the same resin that Aramith use to produce the Brunswick Centennial sets, so they should be VERY similar. That said, we would also like to get a set of the Centennial's in for review to be able to verify that. Maybe in the future!! --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! I bought this ball set a week ago and the "graphics" are not printed in they surface, they are inside 😎. The box was also different than yours. Looks like Aramith has improved this set, maybe they saw this video lol.
@@Spyro- Did they have the Aramith logo on the box? Aramith don't supply balls in plain white boxes (to my knowledge at least). If the balls you received don't look like Continental Balls, and came in packaging that's different from Continental Balls, then maybe they're not Continental Balls? Perhaps the company you ordered from sent you the wrong product? If they're not Aramith branded (or branded at all) then its likely they have sent you a poly resin set, and not a phenolic resin set like Aramith's. Aramith Crown Standard balls come in a white box, but that has the Aramith logo's and Crown Standard text on it. It might be wise to contact the seller and confirm what they have sent you, as Aramith have not changed their Continental set design. Hope this helps!!
@@AverageJoesPool Yeah the box had the Aramith logo. The logo was also in the balls holder inside the box. The balls look exactly like the ones in this video. The only difference is that the numbers and stripes are inside the ball instead of printed in the surface (you can't feel anything at all while "touching" the numbers) which is a huge upgrade.
We've recently received a set of Dynaspheres Tungsten balls for review (along with the rest of their current range: Vanadium, Rhodium and Palladium). So we'll definitely be running reviews for Dynaspheres sets in the future 👍
Yes, I have seen these identical balls available in plain white boxes (in Europe from memory?) called Aramith Economic. The size was also identical). So yes, I believe they should be identical to these. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Please be sure to use our Amazon links in the Video Description! 2) Please Like our video's on UA-cam (by clicking Like!) 3) Please ensure you subscribe to our UA-cam channel! 4) Donations both needed and welcome! I've heard some decent comments on the Japer Bees Deluxe series. But that said they are still a poly resin compared to the phenolic resin of the Aramith's. Also, the Japer Bees Deluxe Superiors I believe are slightly more expensive than this set, perhaps closer in price to the Aramith Crown Standards? Also the Crown's do not have the issue covered in this video with the printed numbers. We'd definitely like to run a review on Japer Bee balls in the future, it would be good to see how well their poly resin compares to phenolic. @@AverageJoesPool Thanks so much! I live in Australia, in Australian dollars the prices are: Aramith Continental: $147, Japer Bees Deluxe Superior: $172, Aramith Crown $206. Between these 3, which would be a good purchase?
Well, I can't really give any more opinion on these that's not covered in-depth within the video review. But other people here reading this comment may have opinions to share on the Continental's? If so, please add!
I feel your pain! Canadian's often get the short end of the stick. $57USD converted is not even close to $125CAD! Nobody expects experienced players to buy the cheapest. It’s purely a marketing strategy. Aramith is an aspirational brand with most ball sets priced well beyond what a new player will spend. They only offer this cheap set hoping beginners will either upgrade their initial purchase or down the road buy a second pricier set. This set is not intended to be a big seller. They need to offer something in the starter set price range to get the new players onto their brand.
Yes, there are definitely compromises when it comes to the Continental's. But the key to this set: they are the cheapest phenolic resin ball set currently available. But, as covered in the video, not in the same league as Aramith's Crown set which is the next set up in Aramith range price-wise. Hope that helps! 👍

I had the exact same thought. If this exact design was made with the quality of the super pro sets they would be amazing.

That's strange! Did they come in the same red box as these Continentals? By any chance are you Red77 on Amazon???
@AverageJoesPool The box was fully white. I'm not Red77 (I always use Spyro everywhere). I bought them in a spanish shop called ManuelGil.
