I don't think I have EVER seen a UA-cam post with almost 9 million likes and not ONE single dislike. When I'm down, I put my earphones in and watch this amazing video. I miss Carl, so much!
I'm not a country&western guy, but I like junior brown, he's kinda rockabilly & I like rockabilly!,I also like the beach boys in the early days when the music was basic & pure, & thanks to Roger Christianson for the hot rod tunes he helped with
Junior Brown is the best guitarist you've probably never heard of. I've seen him perform live and he's simply amazing. He is truly a master of the guitar.
Edward Price JB HAS EXCEPTIONAL TALENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BALLS LOL. IAM SURE THE BB FELT HONORED TO HAVE THE TALENT OF JB TO CARRY ON THEIR TRADITION. ONLY TRUE MUSICIANS WOULD UNDERSTAND THIS.
Love this version to death! Just glad that the BB's stood in with Junior on this one and loved doing it. Love the Beach Boys and their originalality, harmony and what they did for rock n roll. Love how Junior Brown shows how much he appreciates it too.
I’m just going by my impression here, but I believe that The Beach Boys are having a ball with this. The idea that Junior Brown was able to give these legendary Artists a grin in return for all they gave us makes me happy
One of my favorite Beach Boys songs. Still makes me smile. Every young male of my generation knows that feeling, and the dream of the super muscle car you hope to own someday.
Junior Brown did a fantastic job on a classic song. Without a doubt he blew away the Beach boys. They definitely were not expecting this performance. Great job Junior!!
I have loved junior brown since the90s i love the story i read once about how he invented the guitsteel he plays he had said he had a dream about the electric guitar and the steel guitar coming together in a dream and like melting together amazing story 👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Didn't think anything could beat the Beach Boys, but I'm a Texas boy and Junior Brown AND the Beach Boys sound GREAT to me. BTW had a 59 chevy with a 409 back in the day.
I love it! Junior is great, as are the Beach Boys. Takes me back to my race-ready 1964 Chevy Biscayne 409 sedan, 425 hp, Doug's headers, etc. Ran fantastic in AA stock here in Detroit many years ago.
Who was having the most fun on this video? Love collaborations. The Beach Boys are really digging being the back-up singers, how can you top that. Go, Junior, go!
Now, here's a combo I can listen too. Becoming a big fan of Junior's. Always been a fan of the Beach Boys and surf music in general. Killer version of one of my all time favorites. Y'all rock!!!
I've loved the BEACH BOYS my entire life since my childhood they were before my time but grew up loving them in the70s then when i was in my 20s i discovered JUNIOR Brown i always loved how junior made that guitsteel sing he really spices up the classic song 409 wonderful combination of musicians absolutely great ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
What an incredible moment. This is a little gemstone combining different eras and styles in a brilliant collaboration. Hopefully there is more to be discovered.
Oops. If I don't do it somebody will. That 413 was a wedge head. The 3rd generation Chrysler Hemi came in 426 a couple years or so later. First generation started in '52, the little Dodge Red Ram & Desoto at around 241 cu in. Those were popular on the Bonneville salt flats. Second were the Firepowers in 354 & 392 and 331 I believe it was. They ended for awhile in '58. Those were the slingshot dragster era motors to have.......But this right here is the best take of this tune.
I had a 65 corvette with a h.p 396 w/dual quads and she took a back seat to no other street machine. Oww! And 'THOSE 'were THE DAYS!! OH TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO THOSE DAYS WHEN THINGS WERE SO MUCH SIMPLER.
Junior Brown brings a lot of horsepower whenever he performs--lots of vocal power too. He's a one man powerhouse, glad thew BB's liked him enough to back him!
If America were still American, Junior Brown would be a well known icon. We know the music industry has the opposite of affiliations though so geniuses like JB will remain known only to music nerds like us.
In my opinion, this is best I've ever heard from Junior Brown. And this is better than the original Beach Boys version of the song. From what the Beach Boys say, I believe they feel the same way.
THANK YOU!! One of my favorite songs in the world, and- Nothin could catch the tears of happy laughter that giddyapped down my face when I came across and watched this. Thanks to BB's and JB for coming across with this: it's a real gift to the world of historical serious fun (fun fun).
You know you're good when the Beach Boys are your back up singers..
sgtpep5 knows his way around pedal steel
Bart Schwartz except it’s not a pedal steel
You know you’re good when you’re singing backup for Junior Brown.
@@seldomseensavage3459 junior designed it. its part steel part guitar. he has a name for it.
@@oregonfordguy9812 that’s right. Just saying it’s not a pedal steel
junior is one of the few who can say "Here, let me show you how to play YOUR song"
Junior;"409"?...hold my tequila".
Exactly!
Heck yea
Big BB fan, but none of them, past and present, can match his guitar playing!
Jr Brown is country, rock, metal, jazz, funk, fusion all in one. One of the best guitar players working today.
Frankincensed AND THEN SOME.
Only Junior brown can make a Surf classic into a country song. You made it when The Beach Boys back you up on vocals
Awesome! Was lucky enough to see Junior Brown in Canada in the 90’s . Amazing musician, singer , and show
I don't think I have EVER seen a UA-cam post with almost 9 million likes and not ONE single dislike. When I'm down, I put my earphones in and watch this amazing video. I miss Carl, so much!
Junior Brown. "The Jimi Hendrix of Twang" Outstanding!
Loved Junior Brown from the first time I heard him. Underrated is an understatement. He's awesome
I'm not a country&western guy, but I like junior brown, he's kinda rockabilly & I like rockabilly!,I also like the beach boys in the early days when the music was basic & pure, & thanks to Roger Christianson for the hot rod tunes he helped with
Such a great combination, Junior's baritone/bass and Beach Boys mid/upper level harmonies
Junior Brown is the best guitarist you've probably never heard of. I've seen him perform live and he's simply amazing. He is truly a master of the guitar.
I wanna see him and Tommy Emmanuel on same stage 🤤
Our lifetime!!!! Probably the best…legit
Junior Brown and the Beach boys killed it on 409 !
Where do you get balls big enough to ask the Beach Boys to be your backup singers ? WOW !
Tremendous respect for each other's talents. I love it.
Love your comment HA That's when you know your damn good!!! I think this is about the best version of the song. Love it!!
In Texas
Edward Price JB HAS EXCEPTIONAL TALENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BALLS LOL. IAM SURE THE BB FELT HONORED TO HAVE THE TALENT OF JB TO CARRY ON THEIR TRADITION. ONLY TRUE MUSICIANS WOULD UNDERSTAND THIS.
LOL and the guys were loving it. Great fun!
Love this version to death! Just glad that the BB's stood in with Junior on this one and loved doing it. Love the Beach Boys and their originalality, harmony and what they did for rock n roll. Love how Junior Brown shows how much he appreciates it too.
Ditto to all that!!
I so miss Carl!
@@wvb-woody7552me too. The soul of The Beach Boys.
Junior took down the house with this CLASSIC!!!!!
What a musician!!!
Underrated is an understatement!!!
That solo was pure smoke. Outstanding.
I was driving along listening to The Beach Boys, then I crossed the Texas state line and it became Junior Brown!
he blew the Beach boys away...u know he's good
I’d say Mr Brown now owns 409! Great rendition!
I'm guessing the Beach Boys had more fun with Junior than they did the original version
This master craftsman deserves way more credit than he is given, unbelieveabe talent. Does the work of two men.
guitarist, steel guitarist, vocalist = three men
He just sounds like he really ought to be a huge star. If that makes any sense
a little bit of George Jones in the lad...
He can write a little, too!
I love the way Junior gets after it on the steel guitar - really kicks it for the song!
Seeing Carl smile while singing, shows the real joy of Beach boys when they were singing, he loved it.
Carl was fantastic. Doesn't get the credit he deserves as a guitarist or vocalist.
It doesn't matter what Junior plays or sings, he's absolutely terrific! I LOVE his music!!
Ernest Tub was for my dad and his age, Jr. Brown is for me and my age. This music NEVER goes out of style!!!!
Ever since I first started hearing junior brown in the90s I've loved his music he's awesome on that guitsteel 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️😱😱
Junior is in a class all by himself!
I’m just going by my impression here, but I believe that The Beach Boys are having a ball with this. The idea that Junior Brown was able to give these legendary Artists a grin in return for all they gave us makes me happy
Junior Brown is the man !!!!!!!!!!
Junior is so cool he makes the Beach Boys look square. 😆
This is great , the beach boys and junior brown should tour
This guy is amazing both instrumentally and vocally. With a five Beach Boys backing we got six of the best singers on the planet!!!

I was wondering why they were in different rooms. . .
then i realized that one single ambient can't bear all that much of awesomeness
Junior plays music. Doesn't matter what it is, he just shreds it.
Junior Brown. One of the GREATS
Born to sing this song.
Never heard of him before, but MAN! He nailed the surf sound perfectly!

And yet, Nashville still ignores him.
They do that way too much. Don't fit into the box? - we don't know you.
Sonny Dean Nashville????? If it says made in Nashville you can guarantee it sucks
Sonny Dean i
Thats a good thing. Take a look at the CMA, its a series of pathetic no talent clones.

Beeeessssssttt! Version Ever!!!!!!
Winner of the coolest music video I have seen so far this year!!!!!!
How cool for them to let Junior do their song and also join him in the video. Great to see Brian Wilson too. The Beach Boys are a great American icon.
The Beach Boys asked to be the backup vocalists on this, and a few more cuts...a match made in ...TEXAS!
This is too cool ! The respect they have for him says it all !!
alberto huerta: thanks for posting. Cheers!
Hot Damn, even got Brian up there!
Man this guy ranks with the "Guitar-Immortals"

The 1963 Dodge 413 Hemi could get to 60 in 5.2 seconds .I imagine the Chevrolet was pretty close to that .
