I worked an off duty job for a concert in Midland, TX, back in the early nineties. I thought my Sgt said it was Sawyer Brown. Not being much for country music, i had never heard of Jr Brown before, but it was one of the best concerts i had ever attended or worked.
I got into Junior around 1990 and had a couple of his Taped/CD's whatever you want to call 'em. He appealed to a vast range of Audiences because he was that good. It was something new, and something familiar all @ the same time.
In the 90's he was worshiped by all the metal/hard rock players. He's ranked up there with Holdsworth, Vai, Satriani, etc. His wife is probably even better than he is-serious big-band jazz player.
Really enjoying your videos Joe! My folks really enjoy the music you are posting. Continue sharing the good vibes. Only person you can compare junior brown to is Roy clark … upper echelon guitar player with the Karisma to match that talent. And junior made his instrument..
Speaking of the Highway Patrol......I'm thinking they're the last group that still dresses like professional officers, sharp and crisp uniforms. Seems like all the local departments and others now dress more like tactical military specialist. Just an observation........... Love Junior Brown !
It’s like he’s making fun of country music somehow but still serious. I’ve always liked Graham Parsons, Dr. Hook and Spinal Tap and that sort of thing...
I’m retired now but 99% of the traffic stops I made I had no intention of writing a ticket. For most people the embarrassment of being stopped and a warning did more good in my opinion than taking money out of their pocket for a citation. I had 0 tolerance for no insurance and you would not believe how many tickets I wrote for no insurance and suspended DL or outstanding warrants. If a driver had insurance and a clean DL with a decent attitude they would only get a warning. Most of the cops I worked with had basically the same work ethic’s, but as you know there are a few bad apples in every bunch.
I could listen to Junior pick that guit-steel all day! Total boss music. (I hadn't seen this video, and this is the first time I've heard him do that bridge before, and it's an incredible addition!)
He's not underrated have you ever been to Texas hell if you don't play that good you'll never get in a band Junior Brown is the finger of Texas of the butt of you can't play this rest of you I love Junior Brown he rocks really does hell you can watch his fingers and learn how to do it not
I’ve held those guitars. I even made it possible for him to play in the back seat of Mercury Charlie’s 51 Mercury. Real amp and everything. It was quite the site.
Totally awesome !!! As a former professional driver ( 44 years ) & a fan of the old TV series The Highway Patrol ! Man that was Bad A.. Thanks for the video spectacular.
I used to carry his get still to the stage that's what his instrument is called cause it's a guitar on the top and a steel guitar on the bottom and bodyguard him at three teardrops on industrial boulevard in Dallas Texas great guy great musician and great friend
Probably the most underrated guitarist in history.
Another UA-cam commenter who didn’t get the memo. “Underrated” is probably the most overused adjective in all of UA-cam!
@@TenMinuteTrips so are people bitchin about the use of the word underrated
@@TenMinuteTrips you mad bro?
That title belongs to Rory Gallagher.
@@TenMinuteTrips "Underrated" is overrated on UA-cam. And WHO doesn’t rate Junior Brown’s guitar playing highly?
Junior is a true American original.
Legend.
Incredible solo, he's a true original. Love the applause they give him mid-song.
God Bless You Junior and Your God Blessed Wife
Amazing REAL music
Thank You
I never liked him until I saw him open up for Alan Jackson many years ago. I was blown away by his guitar skills and his steel skills
What solo?

His Surf Medley is stupid good . For those of us that remember surf music ! ✌ Y'all
I love watching Junior perform with those facial expressions, he really gets into the performance.
The best guitar face since Joe Walsh and Alvin Lee
That's some next level chicken pickin' right there and that police siren lick was too much, wow!
Love it whenever there's a song involving cops they just imitate a siren with a guitar or violin.
I always liked Jr. Brown's style and his picking skills. Brilliant!
Exactly, just proves that musical genius can be found in any form. Regardless of categories or personal taste, PERIOD! 😉 😎 👌
I love him. Funny, fiesty and fabulous. Great guitar guy. Thank you Junior Brown!!!❤❤😊😊

The most talented guitar player ever
Some fine pickin' by Junior Brown. Incredible!
No Comment...my jaw is still wide open
This is making me wish I became a member of my local highway patrol.
I was a cop when that came out. It seemed like every agency I worked with adopted that as a theme.
This whole unit has a deep understanding of surf music and Junior's just in a category all his own. Effin' fun!
What an incredible talent. So wonderful.
here to keep all the speeders driving slow, I'm just a doing my job, I'm the highway patrol.
Don’t think I had heard of this guy. What a great player!
I think that's his wife
BRAVO !!!! God Bless OUR Law Enforcement !!!!
They are both a treasure for Texas music.
Junior Brown is a national treasure.
He should be a Kennedy Center honoree. Yeah, he's that good.
@@1755ma Kennedy *Space* Center honoree!
He does all the same job as a 3 Orbison’s guitarists.

This should be the unofficial song for the California Highway Patrol. Very fitting....
It kind of is. It gets passed around in those circles 😂
Best old school chicken picker out there.
What a showman ! So close to rock and roll guitar ! Bet some rock musician learned a lot watching junior brown
In the 90's he was worshiped by all the metal/hard rock players.

Far too many drivers forget the Junior Bowns in their patrol cars hidden beside of the highways, until it is too late. Blue lights will remind them.
Junior has been around since the 70s. I remembered him when I was little.
HO...
LEE...
SHIT!!! BATMAN!!! WOW
The man is a Maestro!

To think that most of the people in the audience didn't realize they were witnessing a legend in the making.

I did not realize that Norm MacDonald played the drums. Great performance.
Saw him at the Coach House decades back, sounded great. The same foursome as here.
Nice that the acoustic guitar player took a break from her CEO job to do this gig
She's his wife
I've seen alot of good music but this man's hands are genious
His wife doing well
It’s like he’s making fun of country music somehow but still serious. I’ve always liked Graham Parsons, Dr. Hook and Spinal Tap and that sort of thing...

Fantastic ! Watch for those Smokie bears.
Love it!
Yep. They want you driving slow or they’ll make up enough charges to get you to court to pay nine times more than the original citation.

Perfect song for Charlie Baileygates in "Me, Myself and Irene".
Goood song
I just love his bass voice and spiffy guitar!!
Make sure you know Ernest Tubb to more fully grok J.B.s singing.
He sang a song about that singing: My Baby Don't Dance To Nothing But Ernest Tubb
I would like to hear his Wife take a solo playing that acoustic guitar . 💖🎼🎼🎼✨
He ain't from Texas, but he got here as quick as he could!
He should keep the day job, practice a bit, and he might be someone. (Just joking, Junior is awesome).
Saw him in concert, he's awesome !!

When I was a trooper in Florida. A fellow trooper had that tape and would play it over his PA speaker going through town. Lol
Just saw Jr play this tonight in Chattanooga. Fan f'n tastic.
Cool. Ya im keeping an eye out for when he comes around my area but probably will be awhile if ever. Pacific Northwest is a ways from Austin
one of the best live acts I've ever seen
Is that a six string bass upper , and a 12 string rhythm under ? , electrified of course .

Very underated musician. I believe I seen smoke coming from the fretboard 🤔👍🏻
Not digging that Dollar General cowboy hat, but I always liked his music.
Wonder what scale the guitar is.
The lap steel is C13. We asked him last night at a little gig.

I felt terrible when his one-of-a-kind guitar was stolen. That would be hell.
To bad people can’t right songs like this anymore.
