You have the gift to explain complicated topics in a very clear way. When I try to fight contamination ocd, I ask myself what "me before the pandemic" would have done in this case? How would I have reacted to this situation in 2019? How would someone without ocd behave in this situation? Sometimes it helps, other times the contamination ocd is stronger. It's a daily battle! Thank you for your helpful videos! 🏵
Rewatching your video because I find it really valuable and it really"speaks" to me. My contamination ocd started with the pandemic: before 2020 I used to be a bit more worried and careful during the cold/flu season but in a "normal" way, then the pandemic hit and I developed contamination ocd. Back to your video: I can relate when you mention washing hands multiple times when at home. I understand it is an extreme but my contamination ocd "replies" that even at home some surfaces or objects etc. might not be clean/safe because I have touched them or I might have touched them with unclean hands, or someone else (my brother for ex) might have and so there could potentially be a risk even inside the home environment. I don't know how to "respond" to this because it does make sense to me, hence the excessive hands washing.
The ultimate OCD paradox!
