Have you ever noticed that when someone tries to rationalize your OCD intrusive thoughts away it doesn’t help? Even when you tell yourself your compulsions don’t make sense, do you have a hard time not doing them?
That feeling of danger, incompleteness or fear is not in your mind, it’s in your brain. There is a biological reason why you just can’t shake off those uncomfortable feelings.
Once you understand the science behind your doubt, it will make more sense why it is so important to override those feelings and not give in to OCD’s demands.
In this week’s UA-cam video I talk about why those OCD intrusive thoughts feel so real and what to do about it.

I’ve never been diagnosed with OCD, only GA. I know for certain I have it though- and your videos have been SO helpful. Just hearing that others experience it makes me feel like #1. It’s not just me and #2. I’m not a bad person (Moral OCD)

you have a very unique style of explaining, my OCD has been building up for years and it has reached it's max a week ago, in my distress i looked for youtube videos about it hoping i'd could get ANY guidance and i stumbled across your Contamination OCD video, i felt very heard and seen and you very eloquently put a lot of my thoughts and worries into words, i watched the whole video and it was the most cathardic experience i had my entire life, i am very grateful for you, i'm working on my combating the anxiety and slowly every day feels brighter, everytime you post i'm eager to see and learn from you, even if it doesn't relate to OCD
Keep up the amazing work and i hope you feel as happy as your videos made me ❤

Ah~ this is why it is like that
I thought I could just use logic and stuff to fight my intrusive thoughts after being angry at them just make it worse, I call this voice in my head Karen or the new word for it "Brainworms" not the Dirt worms rather like the Ocean Worms with creepy claws, I just got my first episode of intense Intrusive thoughts 2 and a half weeks ago after to much caffeine? Idk it still sounds crazy when I say that as a reason I mean I had them a bit before from time to time but these where easier to cope and then suddenly this gigantic spike up
