As far as the Georgia Satellites are concerned, these guys would just come out on stage and ROCK IT! They do a live gig, and they sound just like their studio recordings! THATS AWESOME!!! Rock and Roll doesn't have to be complicated, these guys took Rock and Roll, threw in Southern fried rock and let it rip!!! We need music like this again! Are you reading this record company executives? Get your heads out of your asses!!!! Bring back ROCK AND ROLL!!!
Damn I never got to see these guys in the 80's. They are one of the few 80's bands I would go out of my way to see if they ever were to play in my area.
WOW! I even enjoyed this vid more than the last one I heard. Dig that chick dancing on the stage... just like they did back in the '60's! LOL Fantastic bass line too (gotsta learn it)... Great, entertaining video! ~Carla :-)
Saw the Satellites play way back in 80s in what was then the most bombed hotel in the world, The Europa Hotel, Belfast. We were a bunch of Firefighters on a night out with wives & girlfriends. Could not believe my eyes when I noticed the bar in the hall was open for business an guess what, there were no fights. Amazin night and even though their music is a bit basic I've been a fan ever since.
Just think of playing this song after we've gotten rid of this fucking virus. All the people going wild and just having a good time like it used to be.
1987 MTV New Years bash at the former Manhattan Center on w34th St. I say this because I was there, and if I don't benchmark it somehow I'll lose it to my memory forever. Pathetic, I know. I hate getting old.
Just my opinion, MTV reached it's peak right here. It's been a down-hell slide into oblivion ever since. But I'm old so what do I know. You're listening to the Rolling Stones with a southern accent. That's who the Georgia Satellites are. Here in Tennessee, that's a good thang.
@JEDIALADDIN, I hope you are right! If I could tell one thing to young people of today is that, don't discredit music from 30 decades ago or more. If you do your own research, you will find the history of Rock and Roll an amazing ride! To the young folks looking to the past to find musical inspiration, that's the best place to start!! Like Bob Seger once said,' today's music ain't got the same soul"!!!! Enjoy!!!
Georgia Satellite was playing this way before Slash made a sensation...but, bands borrow from other bands for their shows... example- I was doing a fire breathing act on stage long before Kiss were recording stars.
@charger19691 I agree....today's music IS garbage, but us Rock N Roll GODZ don't need to destroy the Earth yet....it looks like millions of kids today are going back to the 70's or so to pick up our ROCK and make it theirs. I am proud of them.
most important is that in the video you can actually watch the guitarist or vocalist actually play. they don't do the hyperspeed video edits that makes it impossible to enjoy cool-rock-star moves. just my 2cents
@zachdewall , actually, Slash and G.n'R. were good friends with Satellite's guitarist, Rick Richards. Nobody wasn't copying anybody, 'cause they all are too cool for that. By the way, after Georgia Satellites had disbanded, Richards played with Izzy Stradlin' a lot. Cool video! Thanks a lot!! Btw, Rick Price, the bass player, was outta tune... probably wasted since it was a New Year's Eve! ))) Great stuff!
@crazyman8472 Nope, these guys first album, including this song, came out in 86. Ever occur to you that Rick Richards and Slash listen to the same old records?
back when MTV was cool to watch...great live performances and real artists not like most of the manufactured crap they sell on american idol and other kiss ass shows.Bring back the real artists.
ONE OTHEER THING, THE GEORGIA SATELLITES DEBUT ALBUM REMINDS ME OF MONTROSE'S DEBUT ALBUM IE THE WHOLE ALBUM KICKED ASS (WHICH IS KIND OF RARE) HOWEVER THEIR SOPHOMORE EFFORT 'PAPER MONEY' WAS NO WHERE NEAR THEIR DEBUT,THE SAME WITH THE SATELLITES. AFTER THEIR SECOND ALBUM, DAN BAIRD LEFT TO PURSUE A SOLO CAREER,THUS THE END OF THE SATELLITES. RIP
@RockingHardV3 "Appetite for Destruction" was released in July of '87, and this December '87, so yeah, the guy is totally copying Slash. And I like it! :)
@willyandthepoorboys, it makes me happy to see that many people agree with me, What the Hell happened to the music industry? I swear record labels look for the most worthless talent and then invest millions shaping them into talentless ass shakers that cannot play instruments or carry a tune even if it had handles on it! I'll take music from the past any day over this dogshit we are force fed everyday. Bring back REAL MUSIC and REAL MUSICIANS!!!
Can anyone tell me why it's impossible to find on youTube the original video clip of this song? There's just a parody with original images and other lyrics.
Limewire??? Exactly what I thought. You have an mp3 on your computer that is mislabeled. It's nuts how many mp3s on those file sharing sites give credit to the wrong artist. Search for a Georgia Satellites mp3 of "keep your hands to yourself". I bet its the exact same recording.
This song was super popular when it came out, and I still consider it one of the best R&R songs of all time.

This is what we should teach all ladies in training these words. I love this version!!!

Just think of playing this song after we've gotten rid of this fucking virus. All the people going wild and just having a good time like it used to be.
Great song by a very underrated band. The girl in the toga thing is hot as hell!
1987 MTV New Years bash at the former Manhattan Center on w34th St. I say this because I was there, and if I don't benchmark it somehow I'll lose it to my memory forever. Pathetic, I know. I hate getting old.
God he has glorious hair.

Rompin' Stompin' Rock n' Roll. Southern boys have a good hold on the concept....

@charger19691 I agree....today's music IS garbage, but us Rock N Roll GODZ don't need to destroy the Earth yet....it looks like millions of kids today are going back to the 70's or so to pick up our ROCK and make it theirs. I am proud of them.

@RockingHardV3 You are soooo right; we had a different style in the 80's ... and that's NOT a mullet :~D)))))
i was 9 years old. fuckin a i was nine. gdamn i feel old. fuck me running!!!!
Love this song...Don't understand the video behind it though

Dan Baird. Check out his singles too.
Around that phase, a LOT of guitarists were going for the Jimmy Page look....
HOLY SHIT, SLASH
no no no. dog has the ultimate mullet. haha. if i were to grow a mullet, i'd want it to be like dog's.
no, that's Rick Richards. He played with Izzy Stradlin after this, so I guess Izzy liked the style and look of Rick and Slash.

Donald Marshall wrote the lyrics to this song.
I didnt say I just searched on youtube. Search anywhere. Send me a link when you find info that Thorogood covered this song.
@wittomee Thats because theyre southern and they wrote the song.
@RockingHardV3 "Appetite for Destruction" was released in July of '87, and this December '87, so yeah, the guy is totally copying Slash. And I like it! :)
wow this must've been back when MTV was actually MUSIC television, not freaks in a house gone wild tv. wonder if we could sue em for the name now??
does anyone else think the guitar bit at the beginning sounds like t rex- bang a gong?
Gene Simmons without the kiss make up, his hair put down, and him wearing a leather drench coat
Dan Baird rocks

I want to download stuff from you tube...can you please tell me what you use to do this? Kenny
@Clutchmaster91 I think she/he means Mullet Festival.
@Clutchmaster91 :'bout Slash,I think it might be the other way around..
