I have mad respect for both of them. Axl is just a different style but saw him live in 2019 and he still has a kick ass voice ....he hasn't aged so well, but that is besides the point ! LOL Jack Russell's vocal talent was WAY Underrated in the 1980s. His story since then has been a bit tragic. I also saw him live in 2019. Glad he is still out there having a good time
I know I've already put a comment on here, concerning this video. I've come back to this soooo many times, and watched and listened. It really, really is, just absolutely incredible. This performance is both eye and ear candy, and is not only timeless, but flawless. Nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING, needs or could be improved on here. No disrespect to any of the Zeppelin boys, at all, but there is NO way they could have done this any better. I doubt whether they could have even matched it. Jack Russel and Mark Kendall are so in touch and in time with each other, as is the entire band. This just fukn blows me away, every time I watch and listen to it. The drummer, bassist and keyboardist just jive with everything they do. Check out Psycho City, Once Bitten, and Twice Shy. All of their stuff is great, but those are must haves in any serious music lovers collection. What heart and soul, in everything they do.

Great White is a band I miss from the 80's era. Sad to see what has happened to the band members. With performances like these, it's a shame the original band cannot share the same stage. Never ever heard this version way back in 88 holy shit they nailed the spirit of LZ. A lot of great musicians have tried to reproduce this moment but I must say this is a very great shot.
I was at this show 2/2/88. Great White was opening act for Guns N Roses when they were just starting to break out. Although I wasn't there to see Great White that night, I became an instant fan after hearing this cover. I think a lot of the crowd felt the same way. Wish they could cut the crap and get the real band back together as one.

After listening to this cover version for 24 years I'm still in total awe of how great it is. I've been a die-hard Led Zeppelin fan since 1983 but I 100% believe Jack Russel's cover is way better then the original, way better!
One of my favorite bands playing my all time favorite band! I was 18 when this was made and still love going back to all the early Great White albums. Wish so much they were still one band together. Jack has overcome his demons and can still belt out those songs. Nothing gets any better than this right here though! Love it!

This is hands down my favourite GW cover of any LZ tune. It's the kind of slow 12/8 blues that they did so well in their own songs. A perfect fit that does the original justice. RIP Jack.
I remember hearing this and being blown away. Same thing 10 years later with the Great Zeppelin album. Simply amazing. Jack Russell proves that he is one of the most underrated voices in rock history. Plant is a God but I feel completely comfortable saying that Russell might actually be stronger live than Plant was with these tunes. No disrespect meant, just saying what my ears are telling me.

I have been a fan of this band since the recovery days... I have saw them live about 20 times over the past 30 years... I was blessed to see them in their calling back in the late 80's @ the vogue in indpls with the bullet boyz opening for them. They played this, babe im gonna leave you, and when the levee breaks in their Zep set... They did these songs even better than some of their own live... I got to meet Jack and Mark that night. The band I was in at the time attended this show and we got back stage after their show. I have always thought they were so much better than the other 80's bands because they were/are so bluesy and were very good musicians... Not like the Poison, warrant, and many others in the 80's that jumped on motley crues run of things...

53 now, appreciated Zep and Great White. Not this particular concert although heard GW live many a time, this particular tribute series was awesome they covered all the zep greats, and underrated at this point. chills is all I got to say on a hot California summer night.
I saw this tour and the next where they were the headliner. Very good always one of my favorite bands and yes Mark can absolutely burn the guitar down.

Reminds me of Robert Plant of old, shame Plant still won't go down the Zep road again! Mind you, he can't sing like this anymore, fair play he's an old man! Bein a huge Great White fan, I'm gonna piss a few people off when I say that I personally like this better than the original, but that's just my opinion. Jack Russell and Mark Kendall were a killer combination. (Not taking anything away from the rest of the band, at all)... Check out all of the albums they did together. What a great catalog.. One of the best to own as a blues fan. LOVE these guys. I'd be ecstatic if they'd get back together and tour as the original band again. Jack Russell, like Sammy Hagar, has still got it after all these years. That's saying a lot for a lead singer at their age.
WOW... There is only one Led Zeppelin, but this is an insanely great version of a DIFFICULT song to pull off. Some points... 1. Led Zeppelin wrote and performed this like only they could. 2. This is the best version I've heard. 3. All my guitar friends are in awe of this song (dang Jimmy Page). 4. In fact... at the end of this song on "SongRemainsTS", Plant rejoices Page to the audience. 5. Robert Plant is IMPOSSIBLE to emulate, yet they did. Again, WOW.

Wow! A fantastic version of a classic Zep tune. Jack sure could knock those Plant vocals out. A little spooky it's so "dead nuts" on target. Great playing by Kendall as always. Thanks for posting this.

This is hands down my favourite GW cover of any LZ tune. It's the kind of slow 12/8 blues that they did so well in their own songs. A perfect fit that does the original justice. RIP Jack.
I remember hearing this and being blown away. Same thing 10 years later with the Great Zeppelin album. Simply amazing. Jack Russell proves that he is one of the most underrated voices in rock history. Plant is a God but I feel completely comfortable saying that Russell might actually be stronger live than Plant was with these tunes. No disrespect meant, just saying what my ears are telling me.

I have been a fan of this band since the recovery days... I have saw them live about 20 times over the past 30 years... I was blessed to see them in their calling back in the late 80's @ the vogue in indpls with the bullet boyz opening for them. They played this, babe im gonna leave you, and when the levee breaks in their Zep set... They did these songs even better than some of their own live... I got to meet Jack and Mark that night. The band I was in at the time attended this show and we got back stage after their show. I have always thought they were so much better than the other 80's bands because they were/are so bluesy and were very good musicians... Not like the Poison, warrant, and many others in the 80's that jumped on motley crues run of things...

53 now, appreciated Zep and Great White. Not this particular concert although heard GW live many a time, this particular tribute series was awesome they covered all the zep greats, and underrated at this point. chills is all I got to say on a hot California summer night.
I saw this tour and the next where they were the headliner. Very good always one of my favorite bands and yes Mark can absolutely burn the guitar down.

I recorded this entire show on MTV in my living roon on VHS (still have the tape) when me and my buddies were in the USAF in Alamagordo, NM. Same w/ GNR when they played the Ritz. Headbangers Ball to follow after both shows....30yrs ago...Holy Fuck Balls.

I have never heard this version of my favourite Led Zep song and I don't know a great deal about Great White but this guy fucking nails it! Reminds me of Robert Plant of old, shame Plant still won't go down the Zep road again! Mind you, he can't sing like this anymore, fair play he's an old man! It just reminds me why I became a singer/guitarist in the first place! This song makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up still, awesome!

When it comes to bluesy rocknroll, it just don't get any better than this, folks. Period. Bein a huge Great White fan, I'm gonna piss a few people off when I say that I personally like this better than the original, but that's just my opinion. Jack Russell and Mark Kendall were a killer combination. (Not taking anything away from the rest of the band, at all)... Check out all of the albums they did together. What a great catalog.. One of the best to own as a blues fan. LOVE these guys. I'd be ecstatic if they'd get back together and tour as the original band again. Jack Russell, like Sammy Hagar, has still got it after all these years. That's saying a lot for a lead singer at their age.

WOW... There is only one Led Zeppelin, but this is an insanely great version of a DIFFICULT song to pull off.
Some points...
1. Led Zeppelin wrote and performed this like only they could.
2. This is the best version I've heard.
3. All my guitar friends are in awe of this song (dang Jimmy Page).
4. In fact... at the end of this song on "SongRemainsTS", Plant rejoices Page to the audience.
5. Robert Plant is IMPOSSIBLE to emulate, yet they did.
Again, WOW.

Best cover of SIBLY i have ever heard ..but if you're a truly a Led Zep fan...u know it's just not as good as the original especially the one in '73 MSG version.. no one can beat that.. but still,love this rendition.. Jack/GW totally nailed 90% of it.
